Huawei officially confirmed the release of another smartphone that will be hitting the market alongside another smartphone - the Huawei Mate 40. The mate 40 series is the next smartphone series of the earlier Huawei Mate 30 and Huawei Mate 30 pro E. The phone was first known with a code-named LIO-ANoom as per the ministry of internet industry and information technology informatics. According to the report, the specs are almost the same as the previous one.
Huawei Mate 40 series will be launched on October 22, as per official announcement. Both the Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro are expected to be announced during the event. The devices are powered by Kirin 9000 SoC processor, which is the last processor due to the US sanctions carrying TSMC chips. Both are rumored to have 50MP rear cameras, in addition to an 80MP ultra-wide camera for Mate 40 pro. The design will be similar to Mate 30 series from the past, with a massive circular camera bump on the back housing.
As per the reports, the phone features a curved display screen with bangs. The phone comes with a pre-built sky blue cover. The upcoming device will contain a circular camera housing with 32MP to 40MP camera sensor. The phone will feature a 6.53-inch OLED display with Kirin 990 processor with 5G network support. The device has a high refresh rate up to 60Hz. Huawei powered the phone with 40W fast charging that can charge 4,400mAh battery in less than half-hour. The design resembles the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, with a 5G version. We don't know the price yet, but the basic features of the phone hint an affordable price range for the phone.

Unlike a lot of the western nations, India did not have to face too many issues with the faulty and hazardous Galaxy Note 7 batteries because of the plain fact that it wasn't even launched then. In fact, Samsung decided to halt the sales and recall all the Note 7s that had already been sold, on the exact day that the smartphones were supposed to go on sale in India (September 2). This means that Samsung Mobiles India did not have to recall any Note 7 back to them and will simply start selling the "safe" and revised smartphones once they have a stock.
According to Business-Standard, the South Korean company will relaunch the Note 7 in India on October 7 and the previous stock won't be sold as refurbished products this time around. Even though they did not have to face the embarrassing recall procedure unlike their western counterparts, it is expected that Samsung will try their best to leave the disaster behind them with a relaunch of the product, complete with a full-fledged media campaign. The fact that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will also go on sale on the same date definitely doesn't seem like a coincident either.

OnePlus announced its upcoming pre-order system for the One last month, when it only said it would roll out in October. And today the Chinese company has followed up with an actual date and time at which you'll be able to pre-order its first smartphone, no invite needed.
So here's what you need to mark in your calendar: October 27th, 15:00 (3 pm) GMT. That's 8 am PST and 11 am EST for those of you in the States, or 4 pm if you're somewhere in Central Europe.
There's a big catch to all this, though. The pre-orders will only be live for exactly one hour. To make sure everything will go smoothly, you can already 'prepare' your pre-order on a special website, adding the OnePlus One to your cart, and entering your details so you'll need to do as little as possible next Monday.

MediaTek's high-end deca-core Helio X20 chipset (10-core) is set to make a debut in mid-October housed inside the Elephone P9000. The Chinese smartphone is expected to debut on October,20th with $500 price tag. The MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core chipset carries the model number MT6797. It follows the MediaTek Helio X10 MT6795 model with octa-core processor (16-cores CPU unit).
Helio X20 has an industry's first tri-cluster architecture which packs two Cortex-A72 processor cores clocked at 2.5 GHz for optimal performance, four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 2GHz for striking a balance between performance and power consumption, and another four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.4GHz for power efficiency, The GPU will be Mali-T800.
Elephone P9000 will feature a 5.5" 1080p display, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage with memory card slot, 8MP front camera, 20.7MP rear snapper, and 3100 mAh battery. The device will be a dual-SIM handset with a dual-standby mode.

LG's round-faced smartwatch running Android Wear, the G Watch R, is due to become available on October,14th. The news reportedly comes straight from the Korean company itself.
LG hasn't yet officially announced pricing for the G Watch R internationally. However, the press release unveiling the new watch for the German market mentioned a recommended retail price of €299.
That will probably translate into $299 over in the US, as mobile devices and accessories usually cost the same amount in both euros and dollars. Today LG has once again shied away from saying anything specific, but "a company spokesman" did confirm that it would be more expensive than the already available G Watch.

While PC users are waiting for the Microsoft Windows 10 release, new information comes from Russian leaker WZor, who has already provided us with plenty of accurate details about Windows 10, but everyone should still take it with a pinch of salt until Microsoft actually confirms the roadmap for its operating system.
Microsoft Windows 10.1
With Windows 10, Microsoft will finally give up on shipping stand-alone releases for Windows in favor of rolling yearly releases, so the company will switch to a continuous update model that would bring improvements and new features to users at a faster pace.
Следующая версия Windows 10.1 будет выпущена в октябре 2016 года, ровно через год после ПОЛНОГО релиза Windows 10 в октябре этого года!
— WZor (@WZorNET) May 8, 2015
The naming system for Windows will also be changed, so the upcoming update due in 2016 is expected to be called Windows 10.1, according to WZor. It's not yet clear if Windows 10.1 is actually the official name of the Redstone update we first heard about earlier this year, but there's no doubt that 2016 will bring us a major update for Windows 10.
If this plan goes through, Microsoft might ship a big update for Windows 10 every year, so Windows 10.2 could see daylight in 2017, followed by Windows 10.3 in 2018, and 10.4 in 2019.

The 5th installment of the popular Gaming series Halo is Coming this Fall. Microsoft announced that Halo 5 Guardians will launch on October,27th Exclusively on Xbox One. The company also released Halo 5's first trailer video which shows the Master Chief in a world of trouble and includes a monologue from Jameson Locke his new adversary.
The Game 5 is already available for pre-order. In a manner befitting a high-profile title, the game will be available in a host of collector's editions.

Mobile games are an integral part of our everyday lives today. With more than 2 billion smartphone users, there is a massive player base behind them - no wonder mobile has become the most used (and most profitable) gaming platform of the world. The top games come and go - titles like Pokemon Go, Clash of Clans, and similar ones, briefly take over the top spot in the list of the most used apps of the world. There is a game type, though, that is constantly in the top 10, with millions choosing its casual fun day after day: slot machines. In the US, they are played socially, while in the rest of the world, players can choose between social versions and the real thing, offered by the Royal Vegas Canada (among many others).
With millions choosing to spin the reels all over the world, slot machines are clearly among the most played casual games at a global scale. Let's see which were the Top 5 Most Popular Slots for October.
5. Dragon Dance
The Dragon Dance is a very popular street spectacle in China - an integral part of many major festivals. To make every day a celebration, the Royal Vegas has brought forth the Dragon Dance slot machine this February, as a way to greet the Chinese New Year. The game is not only popular around this holiday, though - this October, it was the fifth most played game at the casino.
4. Shanghai Beauty
A new addition to the Royal Vegas game library, Shanghai Beauty takes its players on a trip into the sophisticated, elegant world of Asia. While the game doesn't have many bonus features, its combination of relaxing music and exciting action has turned it into a favorite last month.
3. Mega Moolah
While the game itself is fun to play, most Mega Moolah players choose it for its big win. It's the game with the most generous jackpot at the Royal Vegas - it pays out millions to its luckiest fans several times a year. This jungle-themed slot machine was the third most played game here this October.
2. Bar Bar Black Sheep
A game based on a popular nursery rhyme, Bar Bar Black Sheep has more than just a cute look and a soothing music. Its reels are filled with farm-related symbols, along with a BAR symbol borrowed from the classic Vegas slot machines. Two BARs, coupled with a Black Sheep symbol, trigger the game's generous bonus, paying out up to 999 times the triggering bet.
1. Lost Vegas
With Halloween coming, Royal Vegas players seemed to have found their taste for horror. Lost Vegas was the perfect game for them - it took them on a trip to a zombie-ridden Las Vegas, allowing them to join the Survivors or the Zombies in their quest for unimaginable riches.

We have come to a point in mobile gaming where even the most popular titles such as PUBG and Fortnite are now available for smartphones. While many would argue that smartphone gaming is still just for casual gamers, the truth is that most of the people in the whole world play games on their smartphones and that's precisely why the games and the hardware on the platform is improving so fast these days. The month of October was a good month for Android gamers as a decent number of good titles were launched and here are four of the best ones from the last month.
NBA 2K19 by 2K Games
The yearly release from 2K Games is a good one this year and whether you are a newcomer or a returning player, you will enjoy the improved graphics and gameplay mechanics quite a lot. Unfortunately, the game has a $7.99 price of admission, as well as in-app purchases at the moment, which makes it hard to recommend.
Reigns: Game of Thrones
If you have played any of the two Reigns games before Game of Thrones, you will know exactly what to expect from the title. The lore from Game of Thrones is put into full effect in the game where the main gameplay concerns making right choices by either swiping right or left. It gets progressively more interesting as the scenarios keep changing and the plot thickens. It doesn't have any in-app purchases, but there is the one-time price of admission ($3.99).
Monster Hunter Stories
This game is like a dream come true for those of us that like Pokémon fights and the extremely successful Monster Hunter series. While the game plays like a Monster Hunter RPG should, the online battles are delightfully similar to Pokémon battles and that's a good thing! Whether you are a fan or not, do try out the game because it's available for free, but there's a $19.99 asking price to be paid if you want to continue playing it.
Harvest Moon: Light of Hope
Whenever I see the name Harvest Moon, it instantly makes me nostalgic. While consoles and the PC already has Stardew Valley to take care of any isometric farming/life sim demands that may come from their respective players, it wasn't until Harvest Moon: Light of Hope was ported to Android last month, that we had the option to play this super popular classic farming game on a smartphone.
That's it for the best Android games from last month that you can download via the Play Store, but if you would rather try your luck at some brand new casino games, download the Casino Vegas app on your Android smartphone or tablet to get started. The app provides access to pretty much anything and everything related to online casinos. Do check out the BoVegas page to know how you can install the application on your phone since the Google Play Store doesn't allow any gambling apps unfortunately.

Android 7.1 is coming to your Nexus phone by the end of the month, albeit in the form of a Developer Preview. Now that Nougat 7.1 is confirmed by Google as the first maintenance release since it became available, we expect both new features as well as overall improvements.
The incremental update will add brand new features to Nougat like A/B system updates, support for image keyboards, Daydream, rounded icons and app shortcuts API access for developers. Unfortunately, Google Assistant won't be a part of this preview, unless you are using a Pixel phone. The virtual assistant will probably not be a part of even the final build on most smartphones for a while at least.
The Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and the Pixel C will be the three devices that will be getting the Developer Preview this month. The Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus Player and certain Android One phones will also be getting the final build, but Google hasn't mentioned them as eligible for the Developer Preview. The Pixel and Pixel XL on the other hand, are supposed to get exclusively updated to Android 7.1.1 (expectedly) or later in December.

As always, Google has once again started to roll out OTA security updates for this month to its own brand of devices. In fact, the factory images and OTA zip files have also been made available for download since yesterday. You can always wait for the OTA update to arrive on your device, but if you are impatient and it has not arrived on your device yet, the factory images and the OTA zip files are there to be flashed, if you so wish. Carriers and OEM partners should also be in the process of preparing their own version of the October security update for their own respective devices, based on these files.
If you own a Nexus 6 or a Nexus 9 LTE, this security update will still be based on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 instead of Android Nougat 7.0 unfortunately. It is unclear as to why Google isn't rolling out Nougat to the two aforementioned devices, in spite of them being eligible for the update, as per Google's own official declaration. Nevertheless, the update will bring all the necessary fixes and patches to all Google devices irrespective of the Android version that's running on the device.

Google has officially released the final version of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The company is currently working on developing Marshmallow factory images for its Nexus lineup.
The official Android 6.0 Marshmallow updates will be rolling-out Over-the-air (OTA) by early October. Here's a list of the devices that will get the update and an ETA (estimated time of arrival) for each device.
ETA List of Official Marshmallow 6.0 OTA for Nexus devices :
• Huawei Nexus 6P (angler) - Pre-installed
• LG Nexus 5x (bullhead) - Pre-installed
• HTC Nexus 9 (volantis, volantisg) - October,2015
• ASUS Nexus 7 [2013] (razor,razorg) - October,2015
• Moto Nexus 6 (shamu) - October,2015
• LG Nexus 5 (hammerhead) - October,2015
• Google Nexus Player (fugu) - October,2015
Please Note: Factory Images will be available for these devices on the first week of October, if you don't like manually flashing the update wait for the OTA to hit your device.
Google has ended the support of older devices like Nexus 10, Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 as they will stay with Lollipop 5.1.1 but they will keep getting critical security fixes. Keep your eyes up for future updates.

Where's smoke there must be fire: Google's next Nexus tablet is coming and it will arrive under the Nexus 9 moniker with an official unveiling on October 15th and a release date on November 3rd, retailing for a price of $399, according to inside sources speaking for Brightsideofnews.com.
The Nexus 9 is expected to feature a very high resolution and be powered by Nvidia's Tegra K1 system chip. There's no clarity whether we'd see the quad-core 32-bit version of the K1 chip or the dual-core 64-bit version. We do know, however, that Nvidia dropped the following hint on its blog:
"And for hard-core Android fans, take note that we're already developing the next version of Android L on the 64-bit Tegra K1." - Nvidia
The higher, $399 price is also a bit of a surprise given that Google's last two 7-inch tablets were priced around the $200 price point, so this time around, it's clear that the company is gunning for a more high-end device.

Google and Motorola unveiled the Nexus 6 phablet last week. During the blog post announcement, we were told that pre-orders for the device would start on October,29th.
And this date has just been confirmed by none other than the phone's listing in the Google Play Store. The Nexus 6 is in there, but you'll only be able to pre-order one starting on October,29th next Wednesday, to be precise.
By now you probably know the pricing: the Nexus 6 will cost if you want the base 32GB model, or $699 if you need 64GB storage amount.
The Nexus 6 will become available at T-Mobile on November 12, though whether this will be its release date across carriers and retailers in the US is still a mystery. The phablet will also be sold by AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and US Cellular.

Samsung fans on the UK is eagerly waiting for the Galaxy Note 4 launch which is supposed to be on October,10. Sadly, the launch will be delayed a week from the scheduled date. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will officially hit the shelves in the UK on October,17th.
That was for Samsung's own stores though, pre-orders for on-contract devices listed October,17th as the shipping date. A good part of Europe will also get the phablet at that date and now it seems so will the UK. Samsung is citing "amazing interest and demand" as the reason for the delay.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 costs around £575 off-contract but can be head for free with a contract worth at least £38 a month.

Google is rather quiet when it comes to Android One the initiative that the Mountain View giant announced back in June. Even so, Android One handsets are expected to be available this September in India, and The Economic Times has it that the very first one among them could be launched next week.
Reportedly, the Android One handset that might be available to buy in India next week features dual SIM capabilities, a 5 MP rear camera, and a 1700 mAh battery. Other features could include 1 GB of RAM, a quad-core processor, expandable internal memory, a screen of at least 4 inches, and Android 4.4 KitKat. Indian manufacturers Micromax, Karbonn and Spice are all set to start offering Android One devices, though it's not clear which company will do it first. In any case, The Economic Times notes that their Android One handsets will cost between 7,000 and 10,000 INR ($115 - $165), while offering a user experience that's usually found on mid- to high-end products.
Interestingly, it's said that Android One smartphones will be updated to Android L in October which means that regular Android devices should receive updates to the brand new version of Android at about the same time.

Great News for all Android fans around the world. According to the latest confirmed reports, Google is getting ready to unveil the Android L Operating System officially along with some hardware, actually two new devices, the Nexus 6 Smartphone and the Nexus 9 Tablet. All this will be during an event on Mid-October either October 15th or 16th (date still not confirmed).
Android L
During the event Google will announce the final release of Android L (Out of Beta) with a lot of new features and security enhancements. Android L will be Offiically available as an OTA Update starting from November,1st to selected Nexus and GPE (Google Play Edition) devices.
Nexus 6
Google is reportedly going to announce a New Motorola-made Nexus device with a 6-inch QHD display (Phablet) to be named the "Nexus 6". It will be a major upgrade from the Nexus 5 and will have higher specs than the new Moto X (2014) but we don't have any other info about the Specs or the price of this Moto Nexus 6.
Nexus 9
Google is also going to reveal the long-rumored HTC Nexus 9, the first HTC-made Nexus tablet with a keyboard and smart cover. We have all the info we need about this device, you can Check HTC Nexus 9 unofficial Specifications list Here. We still doesn't know the actual market release date or the price. So let's wait those 20 days to know what Google has on its bag for us.

Android Developers are very excited as the Android Lollipop is going out of beta. Tomorrow (October 17th) Google will release the official Android SDK 5.0 and will be available for download in the SDK manager.
Developers will be able to play around with features in Lollipop like the new camera API, JobScheduler, and a ton of performance improvements. Getting the final SDK is the first step in making sure apps are completely ready to run on real Android Lollipop devices, as opposed to the preview.

We reported yesterday that the Galaxy S6 Edge + in Europe has started to receive the October patch and today we have even more good news for our readers in Europe as the S6 Edge has now also started to receive the same. The update will only be available on unlocked versions of the S6 Edge in Europe as you already know, so if you have a contract with a carrier, you will have to wait till a carrier specific version of the October patch arrives on your handset.
The update will fix 68 bugs/susceptibilities found on all Android 6.0.1 powered handsets, along with Samsung's own unique set of fixes for bugs exclusive to the range. The only thing we really know about the unique fixes which Samsung will bring with this update is the fact that it will solve an issue which causes the S6 Edge to hang at times while attempting to switch from one app to another. The rest of it is largely undisclosed in order to stop the hackers and cyber criminals from exploiting those gaps in security on the units that have not yet been updated.
Saikat Kar (tech-enthusiast)

If you live in Europe and you have a Galaxy A5 (2016), you should be notified about a new update anytime now. As you can probably guess already, this is the package that contains the Android SMR package for the month of October, as well as custom fixes from Samsung. The update isn't a particularly large one at just about 20MB, but this is an important patch nevertheless. According to the changelog accompanying the update, this will address a particular critical security hole in the A5's software. Details about this particular vulnerability were not mentioned in the changelog to stop hackers from exploiting it.
If you have not been prompted for the update yet, feel free to check from Settings > About phone > Software update manually. Even if you do not see the update right away, don't worry as it will take a while before all the batches are rolled out and it arrives on every eligible Samsung Galaxy A5 smartphone. As always, the update is only out for unlocked versions of the A5 (2016).
Saikat Kar (tech-enthusiast)

European versions of the Galaxy S6 Edge + smartphones are now receiving the October SMR patch, right on the heels of the S7 and S7 Edge. The update will address seven issues exclusive to the Samsung smartphones and about 68 vulnerabilities/bugs shared by all Android devices running on Marshmallow 6.0.1 (post the September SMR installation).
Feel free to check for the update from Settings > About phone > Software updates manually, but even if you don't, you should be prompted to upgrade your device when it becomes available to your phone. Connect to Wi-Fi in order to finish the download and installation process according to your own convenience. Once the update is downloaded and installed properly, your phone's Build Number should change to MMB29K.G928FXXU3BPJ3.
Unfortunately, the regular S6 and the S6 Edge is yet to receive the October patch and we are not quite sure when it will be made available for them. Nevertheless, it should be going live any day now.

Uncharacteristically, Samsung had completely skipped the September security patch and had instead decided to roll out only the BlueBorne security updates last month. It was only a matter of time before they detailed the October patch though and it has happened earlier than many experts anticipated. Although the update is not being rolled out to any of the handsets yet, Samsung should start sending them out very soon. The Galaxy Note8 and the Galaxy S8 series will be the first in line, but I wouldn't be surprised if some of the other less premium handsets also started to receive the October patch at the same time.
This patch would be quite a heavy one as far as we can tell since it contains 215 fixes from Google for addressing vulnerabilities in the base Android OS. On the other hand, Samsung has added only 6 of their own fixes for the overlying UI, which means that Samsung's own security team has become quite efficient these days. In case you have not received your BlueBorne patch yet from the OEM, don't worry because we are pretty sure that the October patch will likely have it. Check out Samsung's own site here to know full details about the October patch.

Sorry for being a bit late to report this one, but it's good news nevertheless. The Galaxy A5 smartphones from both 2016 and 2017 have now started to receive the October security patch from Samsung. It is a bit surprising that Samsung would prefer to release it for its mid rangers before the flagships, but it's good that that the OEM doesn't seem to be discriminating too much in between their handsets when it comes to security.
The October security update comes after Samsung decided to skip the September SMR entirely in favor of patching BlueBorne, so it's the first Android security patch from the company after August. This one comes loaded with patches for a whopping 215 vulnerabilities found within the Android OS in general and a meager 6 fixes for Samsung's own UI. By now, I wouldn't be surprised if some other devices have started to receive the same update from Samsung as well, so do let us know if we missed something.

The October patch has now started to hit unlocked Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge handsets across Netherlands and hopefully other regions by the time you are reading this. As Samsung had skipped the September patch this year, this is the first Google security update that Samsung smartphones are getting after August. Firmware versions G930FXXU1DQJ1 and G935FXXU1DQJ1 are released for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge respectively and you should be prompted to update your device anytime now.
The decent sized 122MB packages should contain fixes for 215 vulnerabilities and bugs in the Android OS, as well as Samsung's own six patches for their part in the phone's software. The OEM had to skip the September security update because they were too busy patching the infamous BlueBorne security threat, which was a serious problem last month. Nevertheless, no reports indicate that any Samsung phone was left unprotected last month, which signifies that although they did not release the September security patch, the BlueBorne patch was more than apt to keep the devices secure for the time being.

The Galaxy S8 had already started to receive the October security patch over four days ago, but Samsung's latest flagship handset is yet to get the same treatment. The wait for owners of the Note 8 is about to be over though, as reports from multiple sources have confirmed that the month's patch is now reaching Galaxy Note 8 smartphones in China and Hong Kong. The two models eligible for the update in those regions are the SM-N9508 and SM-N9500.
Although Chinese updates are seldom very indicative of the same patch making its way into other countries, it's good to know that Samsung has at least started to roll out the OTA package for the Note 8. We would estimate that the update will soon be released in Europe, given that we have almost reached the end of the month! When it does arrive, 215 vulnerabilities in the underlying Android OS will be addressed, alongside six in Samsung's own overlying UI. Do let us know in the comments, if you see the October patch hitting your device in other regions.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 tablets are leading the firmware list today with the Galaxy S6 Edge hot on their heels! If you happen to own any of the phones or tablets mentioned on this list, do check and see if you have the latest firmware on your device. If you don't, here's a tutorial to teach you about flashing firmware manually.

Samsung is on a roll now as the OEM keeps sending out the October security update to its handsets from all tiers. Just yesterday, reports had confirmed that the Galaxy Note 8 was receiving this month's security patch in China and today we have news from SamMobile that the Galaxy S6 Edge is now getting the same OTA package, albeit in the form of a different firmware! Speaking of firmware, version G925FXXU5EQI8 is making its way onto Galaxy S6 Edge handsets across UK, as you read this.
The October patch should make its way into the US and other regions very soon as well, but if you live in Europe, chances are that your handset is going to be the first on the line. On a general note, this is going to be Samsung's first monthly security update after August and it's going to fix about 215 CVEs and 6 kinks in Samsung's own user interface.
