huawei-os

In the face of numerous controversies Huawei says it has developed its own proprietary PC and mobile operating systems. The Chinese company, the world's second-largest smartphone manufacturer, says the platforms are a contingency in case it is banned from developing on Google's Android and Microsoft's Windows platforms.

Certainly, trying to create a third mobile ecosystem is potentially a path to disaster. Yes, Huawei has huge resources and a loyal consumer base, but efforts from other companies to rival Android and iOS have failed.

Microsoft's Windows Phone was the third OS on the market but completely collapsed two years ago as Android's lead continued to grow. BlackBerry run its own platform for years but failed to keep pace in the smartphone era and now develops devices on Android.

Even Samsung, the world's largest smartphone manufacturer, has struggled to get its TizenOS off the ground. In fact, when I tested a Tizen powered handset the OS was so sluggish that even simply web browsing looking for a Borgata bonus code was a hassle. Huawei has had its own software problems in the past, with its proprietary Android services often criticized by users. The company may have a backup OS in place, but Huawei will be hoping it can continue to be part of Android's success.

Huawei's Problem

Huawei has been caught up in the political tensions between the United States and China, with authorities in the U.S. accusing the company of spying on users for the Chinese government. Whether a ban on Huawei dealing with US companies is possible or not, the company is taking no chances.

Learning from history, Huawei is planning contingencies. Last year, Chinese rival ZTE was banned from working with US companies for violating US trade sanctions against Iran and closed down for four months. Huawei has denied any spying activity, but tensions continue to rise, and many nations have questioned using the company's 5G technology.

If banned from working with U.S. firms, Huawei would be in a tight position. The smartphone software market is dominated by Google and Apple, with the former's Android taking over 75% of the market. In other words, Huawei would have nowhere to go so has taken preventative measures by creating its own OS.

Richard Yu Chengdong, Huawei's mobile chief, told the South China Morning Post the company is prepared for any restrictions:

"We have prepared our own operating system, if it turns out we can no longer use these systems [Android], we will be ready and have our plan B," Yu said. The company has created a PC and mobile platform but stressed it would prefer to continue working with Android and Windows.

GoPro action cameras are loaded with the best features available that enable users to capture the most exciting action scenes wherever they go. These digital devices aren't only capable of creating high-quality videos in 4K resolution but also producing super-clear 12MP still photographs. When talking about video processing, GoPro has the effective editing tools that can help you produce the best video content in style. Even though the makers of GoPro have their own video editing app, wouldn't it be great to look for an excellent alternative that could also deliver the same results?

VideoProc - just as the name suggests, it's a video processing tool that's particularly meant to cater to the many needs of the GoPro users, but that's not the only trick up this video processor's non-existent sleeves!

videoproc-1

Why use VideoProc in 4K video processing and compressing?

VideoProc is not a direct alternative to GoPro Quik, Studio, Windows Movie Maker, Adobe Premier Elements, iMovie...but a solid software solution to process and touch up large HD / 4K footages from GoPro cameras in an easier way.

If you are into video processing, then you probably at least have a decent GPU in your PC, but no other video processing software takes advantage of that GPU like VideoProc. Instead of only taking partial assistance from your graphics card, you will be able to edit GoPro video files and process 4K video with Full GPU acceleration, which can increase the 4K video transcoder speed by as much as 47 times, while preserving 98% video audio quality of the original media file so it's the best software for GoPro iPhone 4K videos.

4K to 1080p - How to Process and Reduce GoPro iPhone 4K videos

Normally, a 30-min 4K 60fps video will devour the 32Gb iPhone, the video at the length of 1h48min can exhaust 64Gb memory space and 4 hours and a half will eat off the 128Gb iPhone space. Have some exciting GoPro iPhone footages in HD or 4K and want the best way to edit it? Try VideoProc to compress and reduce 4K video to store more videos.

Besides, it has a wide range of useful tools and options that will help you make your GoPro film truly professional - Delete unwanted elements in the footage, insert smooth animated transitions between video segments, apply a slow-motion effect to emphasize the most spectacular moments, add background music, and more!

Start making your GoPro movie right now - download and get VideoProc full license for PC or Mac and follow the editing tips in the tutorial below.

Perfect for Processing and Editing Any Video

The in-built GoPro iPhone editor in VideoProc is not only limited to editing 4K video shot from a GoPro Camera mind you, because it can handle any 4K video (all other resolutions are also supported of course) via any other devices such as DJI, iPhone, Android smartphones, camcorders, digital cameras, DSLRs, etc. as well.

Nevertheless, VideoProc is particularly useful for editing GoPro videos to remove all that shaking and blurring which inevitably becomes part of the footage when you are using a GoPro camera on the move. There's also the option to remove fisheye, or merge multiple clips together to form one complete video. Al the edit feature can be found in the Toolbox.

videoproc-8

Should You Try It?

Do you shoot and edit videos often? Do you own a GoPro camera or any other device that you use to capture high-quality videos? Do you feel that the current video editor and processor you use doesn't really have all the features? Do you lead an active life and love recording your days? If the answer to even one of these questions is yes, then you should definitely try it, especially since you can now download VideoProc with free license code! Moreover, everyone who downloads the video processor will also be able to enter the VideoProc New Release Celebration sweepstake and stand a chance to win GoPro Hero7 and accessories.

oneplus

OnePlus announced its upcoming pre-order system for the One last month, when it only said it would roll out in October. And today the Chinese company has followed up with an actual date and time at which you'll be able to pre-order its first smartphone, no invite needed.

So here's what you need to mark in your calendar: October 27th, 15:00 (3 pm) GMT. That's 8 am PST and 11 am EST for those of you in the States, or 4 pm if you're somewhere in Central Europe.

oneplus

There's a big catch to all this, though. The pre-orders will only be live for exactly one hour. To make sure everything will go smoothly, you can already 'prepare' your pre-order on a special website, adding the OnePlus One to your cart, and entering your details so you'll need to do as little as possible next Monday.

Much to the delight of every Apple fan out there, a fresh rumor has once again "confirmed" waterproofing for the upcoming iPhone 7. The rumor originated in China and suggests that both future versions of the iPhone will flaunt a waterproof body, but will NOT have the now iconic "antenna stripes" that all previous and present iterations of the iPhone has so far sported.

The rumored "new compound materials" will not only allow Apple to do away with the plastic stripes, but it will supposedly allow the manufacturer to further modify their phone designs. On the basis of reports from a research and analytics firm, Catcher Technology will continue to be in charge of making and supplying over 30% of the iPhone 7's chassis for the foreseeable future.

Now that we have told you what the latest rumor is, we must now also tell you to remember that these are after all, "rumors." While the chances of the iPhone 7 being waterproof are pretty good, nothing has yet been officially confirmed. The fact that this is the second time we are hearing about waterproofing, gives the rumor a bit more credibility nonetheless. If we will actually get a waterproof iPhone 7 without the antenna stripes for real, remains to be seen.

Whether it's an iPhone or an Android phone, recovering deleted messages from smartphones is really tough if you don't have backup. However, it becomes so much more difficult on iOS as it's a closed operating system. To recover iPhone messages, you will have to take the help of an external software and learn the steps involved in the entire process. The good news is that we have the steps simplified and listed below for you.

Step 1

You will need to purchase and install dr.fone iOS recovery on your computer first and once you do, the software can help you recover anything from Facebook messages, WhatsApp messages and SMS messages to photos, videos notes, voicemails, documents and just about anything else on your iOS device.

Step 2

Update your iTunes to the latest version and turn on "Prevent iPods, iPhones, and iPads from syncing automatically" from Preferences > Devices. Exit iTunes and before moving on to Step 3, make sure that iTunes isn't running in the background.

Step 3

Connect your iOS device (iPhone/iPad/iPod) to your computer via USB and launch dr.fone. Once the software menu opens up, click on Recover. Wait for dr.fone to detect the connected device and show a menu as displayed by the screenshot below.

Step 4

Click on Start Scan and dr.fone will begin scanning your connected device for deleted messages, media and other documents. In case you don't want to go through the entire scanning process, feel free to click on Pause whenever you see the messages or the data that you are looking for in particular.

Step 5

Once the scanning is done or if you press the pause button, you should be able to see everything that dr.fone has found on the device and this will include a lot of the stuff that is already there and was never deleted. That's okay though, because you can simply check "Only display the deleted items" from the top Filter menu to see only what the software has been able to find on your device, in spite of you having deleted them earlier. From here on, you can search for specific keywords to find the data you need or you can check the previews by single clicking on them.

Step 6

Check the boxes on the side of the data that you want to recover and simply click on Recover. Most data will be saved on your computer by default, but when you attempt to recover Facebook messages, iMessages, SMS, contacts and notes, you should be prompted with option to either Recover to Computer or Recover to Device; choose whatever suits your needs.

Congratulations! You have just managed to restore all your deleted messages and other data. In case you want to try and see how all this works before you decide to purchase dr.fone, they have a trial version for that as well.

The Sony Xperia Z has been confirmed for the US market but unfortunately, it won't sport the fingerprint scanner on the side like its international counterpart. We are not exactly sure why Sony decided to leave out the fingerprint scanner for the US version, but we are guessing it must be a patent issue. Whatever the reason may be, it is kind of hard to recommend a flagship smartphone with a premium price tag that doesn't even sport a feature which has become so rudimentary now that even $100 phones sport them.

The Xperia XZ will hit the US on October 2, with a 700 dollar (USD 699.99) price tag. The handset will be powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor, 3GB of RAM, IP68 certified water and dust resistance, a 2,900mAh battery and an attractive design which will come in Mineral Black, Forest Blue, Deep Pink and Platinum color options. There's also a whopping 23-megapixel rear mounted snapper, a 13-megapixel selfie cam and a 1080p 5.2-inch IPS LCD display. Considering that there are cheaper and may be even better options out there, will the Sony brand name be enough to lure you away from them?

Lenovo has just unleashed a brand new series, which will replace the Moto X series of smartphones, starting from 2016. Both the phones in the new Z-series will come with top tier specs like a SD 820 CPU, a 5.5-inch QHD panel, 4GB of RAM and even the choice for 32GB/64GB in-built storage (along with expandable SD card slots). The regular Moto Z will sport a 13-megapixel rear sensor with laser autofocus, optical image stabilization and a dual tone LED flash for pitch dark conditions. On the front, there's the 5-megapixel snapper with a dedicated selfie-flash and a wide angle lens for group selfies. All this will be powered by the Quick charging 2,600mAh battery inside the Z.

The Moto Z Force has the bigger 3,500mAh battery and a shatterproof glass on the front. Lenovo calls the glass "ShatterShield" and they are confident that it cannot be broken by even the roughest of falls. The thicker and more premium device also features a higher resolution 21-megapixel sensor with phase detection laser autofocus, optical image stabilization and an aperture of f/1.8 for low-light photography. In spite of the flagship specs, what we did not like is the missing headphone jack that we have grown accustomed to. Although an USB Type-C to headphone adapter is included in the box, it means that you cannot simultaneously use the Type-C port for charging or data syncing, while listening to the headphones.

In addition to the missing 3.5mm jack, the two Moto phones also bring something else that the market is just getting accustomed to. Both phones have 16 magnetic dots at the lower-back area and they are equipped to connect with the "Moto Mods." Similar to what we saw with the LG G5 modular phone that was released earlier this year, the Moto Mods are modular accessories created specifically for the Moto Z smartphones to enhance the device's already impressive capabilities. There's the InstaShare Projector mod and some stylish case mods, but we found the JBL Soundboost mod to be the most impressive with its twin 3W speakers and a 1,000 mAh battery to boost the phone's usage time.

As is evident, the Moto Z and the Moto Z Force has a LOT to offer, but you will have to wait till September to get your hands on one, if you are outside the US. Verizon in the US however, will release their "Droid Editions" sooner.
