Whether you have the S8 or the S8 Plus, you should be seeing a prompt to update your device to the latest firmware anytime now. In both South Korea and on major US carriers, the December security update is being rolled out via OTA. As of now, T-Mobile was the first but others like Verizon and Sprint should soon follow.
In case you have the Galaxy S8, firmware version on your device should change to G950USQS2BQL1 post the update. If you have the Galaxy S8+ however, then firmware version G955USQS2BQL1 should be heading your way. Both of these are of course for the US versions. Just in case you are looking for the Korean firmware versions, they are G950NKSU1AQL3 and G955NKSU1AQL3 for the S8 and S8+ respectively. If you can see any updates making their way onto any of the two handsets in some other region, let us know about it in the comments.
