According to Korean news site ETnews, there are new information suggesting that both the Galaxy S5 and the and the Galaxy Note 4 will offer improved Air View, Air Gesture and Pen Recognition Features.
Synaptics - a key touch chip maker, managed to improve the hovering detection, thus allowing for a greater range, and as a result, features such as Air Gesture and Air View.
Synaptics will supply a touch solution with improved hovering detection and passive pen writing function to Samsung Electronics.
In addition, the stylus pen functionality has been improved as well, and allows the screen to recognize a passive pen point that measures only 2.5pi. This translates into more accurate hand writing.
Synaptics has lowered the manufacturing cost, too. The new product will be lowered of the printing cost as it will be built in a single layer structure not requiring an insulation layer or a bridge. "The new product will provide a variety of additional functions. However, its manufacturing cost will be lowered so as to decrease the burden on customers," said a Synaptics insider. "The device usability and consumer convenience have been enhanced for this product."
Android and Google really do go together and a good example is the new YouTube application for Android that has Google+ integration. The new version will allow you to immediately post comments or like videos using your Google+.
In the new version, the screen bug has also been fixed when switching, so there won't be any more problems with it.
The new YouTube for Android version also allows playback controls for TV and these can be found on your notification tab. You can easily play your chosen videos back while using other applications and is pretty useful for many who want to multi-task.
Go to Google Play using your Android device if you want the new version for YouTube. You can also update using your computer by logging in to your Google Play account on the web.
Google Glass has received its sofware update code-name XE7, features including a boost of web browsing abilities, touch sensitivity, and oodles of sharing, in my opinion most exciting in very basic way - is the ability to browse the web.
While last month and the XE6 update improved the camera, added HDR, and slightly touched on voice controls. Today's update is much bigger while also addressing a few key limitations the wearable initially had. That being easy calling and messaging, web browsing, and full Google contact list support. We already received it today. Excellent stuff Google!
With XE4 and 5 improving battery life, XE6 fixing the camera, and now XE7 working on web browsing and voice commands it's obvious that Google is hard at work with Glass.
