Samsung keeps on showing us amazing innovations. At the CES 2013, Samsung Electronics unveiled Samsung's Curved OLED TV, breaking the barrier of innovation in home entertainment and become the World's first curved OLED TV with Ultra-High-Definition UHD resolution, using its flexible YOUM technology.
The OLED panel is curved, which provides depth to the content displayed for a more life-like viewing experience. Additionally, consumers will enjoy the Curved OLED TV for its immersive panorama effect, which is currently not possible with conventional flat-panel TVs. When watching captivating content such as vast landscapes and scenes from nature on the Curved OLED TV, they will feel like they are surrounded by the beautiful scenery.
Leveraging its expertise in display technology, Samsung has optimized the picture quality of the Curved OLED TV to deliver a comfortable viewing experience. Viewing visual contents on Samsung's Curved OLED TV is a comfortable experience for the human eye, as the curved panel allows the distance between the user and TV screen to be the same from almost any angle.
"Samsung is dedicated to developing innovation television solutions, beyond what consumers could ever expect, or could even imagine. We will continue our tradition of developing Samsung TV innovations by steadily introducing new TV technology that helps enhance the lives of users, even beyond the World's First Curved OLED TV," - HS Kim, Samsung executive vice president of Visual Display Business.
Samsung decided to refresh its previous King Of Smartphones the GALAXY S II, with a revamped design, updated OS and New chipset, called the Samsung GALAXY S II PLUS I9105 with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean pre-installed out of the box.
The Samsung I9105 Galaxy S II Plus is powered by a Broadcom chipset with a dual-core Cortex-A9 processor clocked at 1.2GHz and 1GB RAM. It packs the same 4.3" WVGA Super AMOLED Plus screen as the original Galaxy S II.
GALAXY S II Plus Specifications
Other things are the same as well 8MP main camera with 1080p video recording, 2MP secondary camera, 3G with 21Mbps HSPA+, dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0+HS. Built-in storage has been cut down to 8GB, but the microSD card slot remains.
There's optional NFC too the I9105 S II Plus without it is 8.5mm thick while the NFC-enabled I9105P is a hair thicker at 8.9mm. The other dimensions are 125.3 x 66.1 regardless of model, that's the same as the original. At 121g it's a bit heavier though (the classic Galaxy S II is 116g). The battery is the same at 1650mAh capacity.
Last year, when we saw the Samsung's flexible OLED displays under the brand "YOUM" we've been waiting for an official reveal of actual products featuring this technology. Today at the CES 2013, Samsung's executives has officially showed off some live prototype devices with flexible panels during the CES keynote, using YOUM panels and plastic, these devices can bend easily and become unbreakable.
One of the possible uses for a flexible display panel is on a tablet that can be folded in half, thus becoming a smartphone that one can fit in their pocket. As you can see on the Photo below... This device is a concept of a future YOUM GALAXY smartphone (in the left) and future YOUM GALAXY Tab (in the right).
Another way to take advantage of this technology is to have a smartphone with a screen extending to the sides where notifications can be displayed even when the handset is lying down on a flat surface.
Of course, these are merely possibilities rather than practical real-world applications of the Youm flexible screens. But since we know that this innovative tech is almost ready for prime time, it will be interesting to see what kind of smartphones and tablets Samsung and other OEMs might implement bendable screens in.

Samsung has just Officially announced the 8-Cores processor Exynos 5 Octa, will be on upcoming Samsung's products during this year.
The latest member of the 5-series has been done with frugality/performance ratio in mind, as the chief of Samsung Electronics Stephen Woo admitted that the task to up performance while decreasing power consumption has been the one bothering him, and keeping him awake at night.
With Exynos 5 Octa, Samsung thinks it has cracked that code, and demonstrated on stage how you can search for restaurants and watch an HD movie at the same time, as well as some 3D gaming with Need for Speed: Most Wanted chosen as the demo... all this without a single lag.
Samsung's peeps said that the new Exynos has twice the graphics performance of anything currently on the market, but it is also very frugal, for up to 70% power savings. It's built around ARM's big.LITTLE concept, with a mix of frugal Cortex-A7 cores for the mundane tasks, and Cortex-A15 ones for the heavy lifting.

Samsung will present an 8-core Octa Core chip of Cortex A15 and Cortex A7 CPU cores in a "Big.Little" configuration at the CES 2013 event today. "Big.Little" architecture combines very low-power cores like Cortex A7 with very high-performance cores like Cortex A15, for a well optimized mobile experience and balanced battery life.
It's possible that for the time being we'll only see a chip that contains 2 clusters of dual core CPU's for smartphones (2 A15+2 A7), although there's no rumor of this chip existing yet, but it seems like the natural progression for Samsung Exynos 5 Dual that currently lacks the A7 parts.
This would be the first 8-cores mobile processor in the markets, showing us the future after the Quad-core, let's wait and see if this Exynos beast will beat the Nvidia Tegra 4 with the 72 GPU cores.
Samsung financial report for the Q4,2012 (October - November - December) isn't officially announced yet, but has been leaked. If the leak is correct, Samsung could have made a crazy $8 Billion in profits in Q4 of 2012, $5.5 Billion are from Mobile products.
The official numbers are expected near the end of the month, but early reports say that Samsung will be announcing Q4 operating profits that are up 65% compared to last year at 8.7 trillion. That would mark a new record hight, 7% better than the previous record of 8.1 trillion won in July-September.
Samsung and Android was a Huge success to the mobile industry since the launch of the original Samsung Galaxy S. Sadly, a report from Bloomberg Businessweek confirms that Samsung will begins its plan on moving away from Android platform step by step , by adopting a New fresh OS, which called Tizen.
Samsung confirms that it will be launching Tizen OS powered Smartphones during this year. The Main reason of this action that the Korean giant wants to take more control on its Mobile experience the company's delivering to its users. Having its own eco system will give Samsung a full control on updates, features and hardware specifications of all its products. We still have no info how Samsung will make these changes.
