It's a minor update that will fix a known camera issue on he previous release that present in the Google Nexus 5 as users observed a pretty significant increase in CPU usage when the camera application is operational, which makes the device laggy and drain its battery. This information comes from LlabTooFeR a renowned developer

There are no details yet on the other enhancements and fixes that the Android 4.4.3 KitKat update will bring to devices in general. The update is reported to be "under testing" and will be released soon, probably with a different build Number.

google smart contact lens glass

In 2014, Google Glass is the top of Wearable technology device but Google want to go beyond just a Smart Glasses.... to Smart Contact Lens. A new patent from Google indicates that the company is working a similar project. Patent Bolt reports on a Google application to the USPTO for "multi-sensor contact lenses," intended primarily as a method for blinking input or input augmentation for wearable devices, or just electronics in general.

smart lens

The basic idea is that a number of sensors embedded into a contact lens could be used to detect blinks with incredible accuracy. The technology to track eyes and blinks already exists, but it's been focused almost exclusively on external cameras. The patent application describes a light sensor, pressure sensor, temperature sensor, and conductivity and electric field sensors, all combined with a control circuit and power source embedded outside the user's physical field of vision.

smart

This isn't a "smart" device in the traditional sense there would be no serious computation going on inside the lens itself but the sensors could give extremely precise readings on the number and duration of blinks. One of the explicit uses of the sensor is to detect changes in light reception to accurately infer a blink.

The patent application was filed in late 2012, which would have been in the latter part of development cycle for the initial release of Google Glass. A few of the more practical parts of the idea are left abstract, particularly the power supply; Google describes various method of power including solar, thermal, or radio frequency power. Let's hope we see this Smart Lens this year as an accessory for Google Glass or part of Google Glass 2.

pocket

Android Wear is new move for Google to bring Android to wrist. Many developers is trying to optimize their Apps to work on Android wear SDK. Pocket has the same aim which is integrating links from a huge amount of sources, so the best way to do that is to make sure users can easily send those links to Pocket App from their Smartwatches. Check the Demo (.gif) below.

Wear Pocket Demo

Pocket has created various APIs to make it easy for other developers to add a "save to Pocket" option. Not all platforms offer a universal sharing menu like Android, and that actually includes the new Android Wear. Screen real estate and interaction limits on a smartwatch necessitate a more focused set of options. So, Pocket has created an API to let developers more easily add a "save to Pocket" option in their Android Wear apps.

Like most functions in Android Wear, the work isn't actually done on the smartwatch itself. The button will just initiate the action on your smartphone.
