It wasn't too long ago that Samsung had actually stopped producing Windows laptops altogether, but they have recently entered the market to try out their luck once again. While the Odyssey Z isn't the first laptop from since Samsung decided to re-enter the industry, it is the company's first gaming laptop nonetheless.

The Odessey Z looks quite sleek and packs in decent hardware as well, albeit nothing exceptional. What Samsung is highlighting is the company's custom cooling system that comprises of the Dynamic Spread Vapor Chamber, Z AeroFlow Cooling Design, and a Z Blade Blower. The manufacturer guarantees that this cooling system will keep the laptop icy even when the internals are pushed to their maximum. Speaking of internals, it is powered by an 8th-Gen Intel Core-i7 processor, GTX 1060 (6GB) GPU and up to 16GB of RAM. For more details about the laptop, check out the screenshot of the specs below. It would be interesting to see how Samsung prices the product, given that there's plenty of laptops there already with similar specifications.

For those that are not familiar with the Galaxy S8 Active, let us inform you that it's an extremely rugged and durable version of the regular Galaxy S8 that's available both on AT&T and T-Mobile at the moment. Unfortunately, in spite of having the same internals, the S8 Active had not received the Android Oreo update yet, but recent reports are indicating that is not the situation anymore. S8 Active users on AT&T are seeing the update arrive on their devices now, so you should check your Software Updates section too.

The update comes in firmware version G892AUCU2BRC5 and is expectedly hefty in size at roughly 1.2GB. Thankfully, the March security patch from Google and Samsung is also included in the OTA package. Although the official AT&T page doesn't yet have any specifics mentioned on it, this news seems pretty authentic.

Check out our firmware section to find all the latest updates for your Samsung smartphones and tablets.

Do you like the Always-On Display? Or do you keep it off to save battery? Whatever your answer is, you will have to admit that it's one of the better appeals of Samsung's AMOLED displays and higher-end smartphones, but it's about to get even better because the AOD will now support GIF images!

If you have a Galaxy S8/S8+/S9/S9+/Note 8 updated to the latest version, then this feature should be available to you right now. Go into the gallery and open a GIF. Now, touch the three dots to bring up the menu, where you should select "Set as Always on Display image" and you are done.

There are a few things that you should know about the feature though and they are as follows.

·         .webp format is not supported, although it is becoming the new standard

·         Only GIF images are supported as far as moving images on the AOD is concerned

·         You will see the animation only once per lock and unlock

We knew that the "notch" from the iPhone X is going to make a debut on a bunch of Android smartphones this year and as expected, the OnePlus 6 is going to be one of them as well. In fact, in an interview with The Verge, Director and co-founder Carl Pei even admitted to the fact that the upcoming OnePlus 6 will sport the notch because of the iPhone X! On being asked if OnePlus would have adopted the notch had it not been for the iPhone X, this is what he said;

"Maybe not as fast. But we have access to the roadmaps of all the screen manufacturers, and when they gave us the opportunity to make cutouts at the top of the screen, it just made sense." - Carl Pei.

If that's not copying, then it would be hard to define the term! In my humble opinion, it makes no sense in buying a phone that clearly draws its "inspiration" from the latest iPhones way too closely because irrespective of how good it may or may not be, it would still be known as an iPhone X clone. When you are going to spend $500+ on a smartphone, that's not a tag which you would want to carry around to be honest. Besides, OnePlus doesn't seem to be bothered with being the innovator and disruptor that it once was in the smartphone market. Finally, why on earth would anyone put a notch on their product! It may add to the aesthetic value, but as far as utility is concerned, it would essentially cut down the screen size while watching videos.
