With each passing year, every company keeps hiking up the prices of their flagship smartphones and the Galaxy S line-up has never been an exception to that rule either. However, due to high import duties and a number of taxes applied on electronics goods by the Indian government, the price of the latest Samsung smartphones are usually a LOT higher than what they should be. This naturally led us to believe that the S9 and S9+ will sport exorbitant price tags with increments on the already hiked up pricing that we saw with the Galaxy S8 and S8+ last year in India. Surprisingly enough, Samsung pulled one over us by keeping the launch price at Rs 57,900 and Rs 64,900 for the S9 and S9+ respectively!
This is surprising because that's exactly the price at which the S8 and S8+ were launched last year. Of course, there are also the more costly, higher internal storage (256GB) variants for both devices at Rs 65,900 (S9) and Rs 72,900 (S9+), but to start at the same price as last year's models is definitely a smart and commendable move by Samsung.

Owning a low-end smartphone is never pleasant, it doesn't matter which Android smartphone manufacturer you choose to be honest, but it never feels nice to report that an OEM has officially stopped supporting one of its handsets. Samsung has just updated its security updates page and among other things, Android Police found that the Galaxy A3 (2016), Galaxy J1 (2016) and Galaxy J3 (2016) has been removed from the update page, signaling that the three handsets from two years ago are no longer supported.
In case you are wondering what that means, it basically means that if you own any of these three smartphones, it's time to think about buying something else because they will likely not be receiving anymore updates of any kind from the OEM. Sad as it may be for owners of these models, it was expected, given that Samsung doesn't support any of its low-end models, post the two-year mark. At the same time, the Galaxy A8 (2018), Galaxy A8+ (2018), Galaxy J2 (2018), and Galaxy Tab Active2 were the latest additions to the update page.

While a lot of flagship handsets carry excellent cameras nowadays, the Galaxy S-series always seems to have an edge over the competition every time it comes out. This is not to say that the Pixels and the iPhones are not as good, it's just that when the S-series of smartphones come out for the first time, they seem to perform quite a bit better than their current gen competition.
Staying true to this track record, the S9+ has just scored 99 on the DxOMark test and that puts it right on top and even above the fantastic cameras currently found on the Google Pixel 2 (98). It scored a 104 on individual photos and a 91 in the video category, both of which are remarkable scores with the first one actually being the highest ever for a smartphone camera. We are pretty sure that the next iPhones and the Pixels will beat that score in the future, but for now, the S9+ truly does have the best smartphone camera in the world.
