Nexus 6

Google always puts an LED notification lights on its Nexus devices, but it doesn't always put them to use. In fact, Google doesn't always even let anyone know that the LED exists in the device at all. That's what has happened with the Nexus 6, which it turns out has its own Hidden LED notification light... SUPRISE!, you can't do much with it unless you're a root user, thought!

It turns out that the Nexus 6 has an LED light in a somewhat odd place behind the top speaker grille. It is a full RGB LED light, but as noted before, you can't use it unless you have rooted your system.

And, even then, the options are basically non-existent because there is no software to properly take advantage of it. Light Flow can't interact with it correctly, and reports are saying no matter what color you choose with it, the LED displays green.

Nexus 6 lollipop

The Android 5.0 Lollipop update recently started rolling out to the Google Nexus 4 and Nexus 5 devices all around the globe, but some owners are complaining via the Android Issue Tracker on a pretty unpleasant Bug that preventing them to send text messages.

The issue seems limited to particular carriers, so it might have something to do with the specific equipment or software they are using for relaying text messages back and forth. For now, it affects a pretty diverse group of carriers, spanning from Vodafone Netherlands, through Mobistar Belgium, to India, and virtual operators connected to those networks as well.

The affected owners usually receive an error code 38, and yet there is no issue with actually receiving text messages. A Dutch tech blog has sent an inquiry to Google about the bug, and has received an answer that they are aware, and the text message sending cut is also present on Nexus 6.

This only leaves the Nexus 6 without root, but considering the speed with which Chainfire expands the list it probably won't be a long wait. That said, the Google+ post mentions hardware issues, which may slow down the progress.
