Android Marshmallow has finally arrived for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 on AT&T and it brings familiar features such as Doze Mode, Google Now on Tap, customizable app permissions and an overall better performance to the tablet. However we really liked NumberSync in particular, which is exclusive to the AT&T users. If you are lucky enough to own a Tab S2 from AT&T, the NumberSync functionality will now allow you to use your tablet as a phone and you will be able to make calls from it even when your smartphone is not near the device.

We suggest the use of Wi-Fi for downloading the update when it arrives on your tablet and you are auto-notified. Alternately of course, feel free to check for the update manually by going into Settings > About device > Software update > Check for updates. Once you are notified about the update and you are done with the download, there should be at least 70% - 80% battery left on your Tab S2 before you start upgrading to Android M. After the upgrade, your phone's Baseband version should now change to T817AUCU2BPF2 and the base Android version should show Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

The latest patch update has been released for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge on Verizon and it addresses a severe issue that needed fixing. The two Samsung flagship handsets from 2015 had a tendency to perform automatic Factory Data Reset if they failed to recognize the fingerprint multiple times in a row. Normally, the failed attempts should lead to a screen where the preset PIN number must be inserted in order to access the phone, but a bug caused the smartphones to skip that step entirely and go straight to Factory Data Reset. As one can imagine, that could be extremely inconvenient and thankfully, this patch solves that issue successfully.

As it stands now, on failing to register his/her fingerprint as the authentic one for fifteen times in a row, the S6 or S6 Edge will prompt the user to enter the preset PIN, like it should. If however, the wrong PIN number is entered five times in a row on that screen as well, the smartphone will perform an automatic Factory Data Reset to secure all user data from the intruder. Once you download and install the update via Wi-Fi, the firmware version should change to MMB29K.G920VVRU4CPF2 for the Galaxy S6 and MMB29K.G925VVRU4CPF2 for the Galaxy S6 Edge. Feel free to check manually from Settings > About device > Software update to see if it has arrived on your phone yet.

If you own a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 from T-Mobile, your device's update to Android Marshmallow in on its way. T-Mobile is the last major carrier in the US to update the Galaxy Note 4 as all others (including Verizon) had already released the same a while ago.
The update comes in at a hefty package of 1.5GB and therefore, we recommend the use of Wi-Fi for downloading it. After you download and install it on your SM-N910T, the build number should change to N910TUVU2EPE3 and the base Android version should upgrade to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

Even though T-Mobile took its sweet time in updating the Note 4, we were disappointed to see that the latest Android security patches were not included (or so it appears). Nevertheless, it is definitely an improvement over the Note 4's now dated Android version and User Interface. Although you should automatically be notified about the update as soon as it arrives on your smartphone via OTA, feel free to check it out manually from Settings > About device > Software update. Even if you don't see it now, you should see it within the next few days.
