The Galaxy S9 and S9+ are great devices and among the best smartphones released in 2018, just like the Galaxy S series smartphones are expected to be every year. However, the S9 wasn't as well received as the S8 because they look almost identical and a good number of the smartphones suffered from poor call quality issues. However, as the release of the Galaxy Note 9 draws ever closer, Samsung might be all set to surprise their customers with an unexpected boost in specs.

According to an unrevealed source online, Samsung is considering the possibility of putting 8GB RAM and 512GB internal storage in the Galaxy Note 9! This isn't really confirmed news though, given that the source himself admits to the fact that Samsung is only toying with the idea and has not implemented it yet. In any case, would you like to see a Note 9 with 8 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage, or would you prefer it if Samsung stuck with the 6GB formula for now and kept the prices down?

The future of the tablet is uncertain as the Android tablet market is not doing well and the iPads are only just hanging on to a fraction of their previous sales numbers. Nevertheless, Samsung has not given up on tablets yet because we have news of two tablets for you today; both running on Android and both manufactured by the Korean giant.

As can be seen from the screenshot, the Galaxy Tab S4 aka SM-T835 has made an appearance on Geekbench with scores that are at par with last-gen flagship handsets (S8, S8+ and Note 8) running on the SD 835. The tablet seems to be running with support from 4GB of RAM and on Android 8.1 Oreo. I will never understand why Samsung keeps on launching their flagship tablets with outdated chips from last year!

The SM-T590, which is most probably the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 (2018) was also revealed earlier when it went through the Eurasian Economic Commission. It seems like Samsung might have slowed down their tablet release cycles, but they have not given up on them completely.

The results are in and Samsung is still the number one manufacturer and supplier of smartphones in the European region at the end of Q1, 2018, with Apple coming in second. Apparently, Samsung managed to ship 15 million units during the last quarter, while Apple managed to sell only about 10 million smartphones. At a time when smartphone shipments have fallen by as much as 6.3% (YoY comparison), it could have been commendable that the Korean company has still managed hold on to the number one position, had it not been for the fact that they have actually slipped by 15% from last year! Market share of Apple on the other hand, fell by 5.4%.

What is more interesting is the fact that even in a high-profile region like Europe, Chinese manufacturer Huawei has grown by a whopping 38.6% by shipping 7.4 million smartphones in the region during this quarter! Not that Huawei wasn't already a force to reckon with, it's just that the rate at which the company is growing in the international market is quite amazing.

The Galaxy S9 and S9+ are out and about, so that leaves us looking forward to rumors about the upcoming Galaxy Note 9. While the release is still months away, that doesn't mean we have not been hearing rumors about it already. Today however, what we have for you is more than just a rumor, because it really is about the Galaxy Note 9, which has made yet another appearance on the Geekbench benchmarking app, confirming the previously seen CPU (Snapdragon 845) and OS (Android 8.1.0).

What is more revealing is the leak by famous Leakster Ice Universe which stated that the Note 9 will actually be 2mm shorter than the current gen Note 8. The shorter height means that the Note 9 will have less bezel than the Note 8 and that is to be expected, given that the S9 and S9+ already has smaller bezels than their predecessors as well.

The image you see here is actually a render supplied by the leakster himself and not an official one mind you. Nevertheless, it is more than likely that we will see something very close to this design when the Note 9 is launched in August.

In the world of Virtual Reality, Microsoft and Samsung are competitors, but it looks like these two tech giants are working together on a project that involves an AR/VR headset. There's a big difference between augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) as the former encompasses and augments the real world with virtual elements, while the latter cuts the user off completely from the real world to provide an immersive experience. It looks like the next project from the duo is going to blur the line between the two as the wireless headset they are working on will allegedly have both and AR and VR capabilities. Unlike the Samsung Odyssey Windows Mixed Reality headset which was released in 2017, this one will probably not need a separate computer to power it.

The news was confirmed by The Korea Times after a Samsung representative spoke to them and even informed the paper that the product will have Samsung's own AMOLED displays, sensors and processors.
