The beta version of Samsung's latest music application is now available on the Play Store and it's free to download. This will make updating the app easier for Samsung as it no longer has to be part of the Samsung's firmware upgrades. It is an initiative that will make updates for individual Samsung made software more frequent.

If you are wondering what is so special about Samsung Music, you might be disappointed as it is similar to most other music apps on the Play Store, excepting the fact that it is made primarily for Samsung devices and optimized accordingly. The Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are the first flagship smartphones from Samsung to come without the default music player pre-installed and this is probably the beginning of a new trend.

If you are interested to download and give Samsung Music a try then make sure that your device is running at least Android Marshmallow 6.0 as anything below that is incompatible with it. The Samsung music player supports popular formats like WMA, MP3, FLAC and AAC among others. It is also capable of sorting your songs in six categories, namely Artist, Track, Album, Composer, Folder and Genre. If the latest rumor from Taiwan is to be believed, then Samsung is planning to release a smaller version of its 2016 flagship smartphone. Many believe that the S7 mini will be released into the market in an attempt to compete with the upcoming iPhone SE. This idea seems even more plausible once you realise that Samsung had recently discarded its tradition of releasing "mini" versions of Galaxy S devices when it skipped on the Galaxy S6 mini last year.

As per the rumor, the S7 mini will sport the same Snapdragon 820 or the Exynos 8890 chipset as its bigger sibling, but a smaller 4.6-inch display and only 3GB of RAM. There is a possibility that the iPhone SE will be powered by the same Apple A9 chip, along with sharing other features of the 6s like Apple Pay, NFC, Live Photo and Touch ID. The iPhone SE may not have 3D Touch though. It makes sense that after learning how powerful the iPhone SE probably will be on release, Samsung has also decided not to skimp on power with the S7 mini.

The same 12-megapixel camera that is on the back of the S7 is rumored to make it to the S7 mini too, but with the additional feature of 3x optical zoom. If you consider that all of this will be encased in a body that's only 9.9mm thick, the S7 sounds like a fantastic device. However, the alleged 720p resolution might be a bit of a letdown if it actually makes it to the final version. We will soon find out if there is any truth to this rumor and when we do, you will know about it right away.

Most people don't know about it and even the ones that do, forget it at times. The fact is that most computing devices benefit in performance after rebooting. Therefore, the trick is to restart your devices at least every once in a while to make sure that they are running at optimum level. In case you often forget to perform this step, Samsung actually has an in-built system in its smartphones and tablets that allow the user to set fixed intervals for their device to reboot on its own.

Unfortunately, very few people know about this feature as it is not very easy to find, unless you know where to look. If your device was released in 2015 or thereafter and it came with at least Android lollipop 5.0 out of the box, then it probably has this feature. Go to Settings>Backup and reset>Device management>Auto restart and turn the button on the top right corner On. The default time for auto restarting is set at 3 AM on every Monday, but you can edit it to suit your needs and convenience.

If your device meets the criterion mentioned above and yet you are unable to see this option then it is probably a locked device and the carrier has removed the option by default

The unsubsidized price of the Galaxy S7 in US is $670 and according to an American industry research firm, that price tag has a profit margin of $415 on each handset! The research firm known as IHS published a report recently which shows that Samsung manufactures each unit of the S7 at a price of $255, inclusive of everything.

According to IHS, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset that is powering Samsung's 2016 flagship devices in the US (the international variant is powered by Samsung's own Exynos 8890), is the S7's costliest part. Samsung however, buys the chipset at roughly $62 a piece. The 12-megapixel camera at the back of the S7 is its second most expensive part and it costs Samsung around $13.80 per module and an additional $5 for assembling and installing each unit.

Everything else like the glass back panel, the Super AMOLED display, the aluminum frame, internal storage, RAM, front camera, sensors and microphones come within a budget of $174.30. If this report has any truth to it, then Samsung's margin of profit on the Galaxy S7 is just astounding! It makes you wonder how much profit the South Korean manufacturer is making on every S7 that it sells outside the US, where it uses its own Exynos 8890 chipset which should cost even less than the Snapdragon 820.

The Galaxy S7 is arguably the best smartphone manufactured by Samsung's and it has passed with flying colors in stress tests like water resistance and substantial drop tests. Now we have a point to point comparison of the Galaxy S7 and the iPhone 6s is terms speed and it can be seen that iPhone has won the race in real world performance.

Jerome Ortega, a YouTube channel owner did a performance test of many top devices like the Moto X Pure Edition, the Nexus 6P, the Galaxy S7 edge, and the iPhone 6s Plus.

All of these smartphones are running on a newly installed OS without any sim card along with same set of apps. This test was done to find out how quickly each device runs a series of applications.

In this scenario, the iPhone 6S Plus is backed by 2GB RAM and a dual-core A9 SoC, whereas the Galaxy S7 edge is backed by 4GB RAM and an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. Tests have proved that, performance wise the new Snapdragon 820 CPU doesn't exceed the A9.

Contrary to the belief that the Galaxy S7 edge will emerge as the faster device, it is shocking to see the iPhone surpassing the latest competitor smoothly (check out the scores in the image above). The iPhone 6s Plus completed the test cycle 17 seconds before the Galaxy S7 edge.

The iPhone 6s is faster than the Galaxy S7 edge, which is quite commendable. It will worthwhile to note that the speed of Nexus 6P is almost same to the Galaxy S7 edge and Moto X Pure is at the bottom.
