Although we do not usually cover Xiaomi firmware, I have noticed that a large number of our readers also have shown some interest towards certain Specific Xiaomi devices. One of the most frustrating things about Xiaomi phones and tablets is the fact that the company often takes forever to update their smartphones and this year's Android Nougat wasn't an exception to that rule either. However, the good news is that thanks to GizmoChina, we have a list of Xiaomi devices today that will be getting the update to Android Nougat, albeit much later than expected.

List of smartphones from the Chinese manufacturer that will get updated to Android Nougat 7.0

Redmi 4X

Redmi Note 4X

Mi Max

Mi Note 2

Mi MIX

Mi 4C

Mi 4S

Mi 5

Mi 5s

Mi 5s Plus

Here's another much shorter list which consists of devices which will be receiving an upgrade to Android Nougat 7.1

Mi 6

Mi Max 2

Mi 5C

Redmi 4X

Strangely enough, the hugely popular Redmi Note 4 and the budget Redmi 4 are not included in this list! It would be interesting to see if they are included later on or if they get a direct upgrade to Android O.

Apparently, there are plenty of parties who are not satisfied in the way Samsung sold a dangerous smartphone and handled the first and the second Galaxy Note 7 recall, followed by total discontinuation of the device. The first of these class action lawsuits have come into public view as Motherboard explains that the three plaintiffs filing the case against Samsung are doing so on the ground that Samsung inadequately handled the Note 7 recall process. Instead of suing the company for selling smartphones that have the potential to explode, they are claiming that Samsung did not arrange for sufficient replacement devices while initiating the recall/exchange process.

"Samsung informed consumers they would have to wait several days, and even weeks in many cases, before receiving a replacement smartphone. During this time, and as a result of Defendant failing to provide consumers with an adequate replacement, consumers continued to incur monthly device and plan charges from their cellular carriers for phones they could not safely use."

Samsung refused to comment on the situation citing pending litigation; however, we would not be surprised if more of these lawsuits begin to appear from here on. The more prominent and demanding ones will of course involve customers who actually had a Note 7 that caught fire and caused property/physical/psychological damage.

While Samsung is the global leader when it comes to smartphone sales, Apple usually beats the Korean giant by a yard stick and then some when it comes to operating profit in the sector. However, that's only the smartphone sector that we are talking about and as everyone who is even mildly interested about the company will tell you, Samsung is MUCH bigger than just smartphones. The latest predictions by analysts are suggesting that Samsung will possibly beat all other companies in the whole world in any sector in terms of operating profit in Q2 2017!

What this means is that Samsung will be breaking all personal and world records when it comes to profit in a single quarter at the end of June. The likes of Apple, Amazon, Facebook and Google will fall behind to make way for the mighty Korean giant. If you are interested in numbers, then consider that the estimates range between $11.6 billion - $12.3 billion in operating profits for Samsung. We will find out how accurate these results are once the financials are made official in the next few weeks.
