Everyone knows that the tablet market has been declining every year for the last few years and the latest report by Strategy Analytics confirms it. Two of the biggest players in the game, Samsung and Apple have lost 0.1% and 2.6% market share respectively, in a YoY comparison between Q4 2015 and Q4 2016. In fact the global tablet shipment irrespective of the brand came down by 9% in the last quarter.

According to the report, Apple had managed to ship 13.1 million iPads in the last quarter, which is a 19% decline in shipment when compared to the 16.1 million iPads it managed to ship in Q4 2015. Samsung suffered a decline of 10% in shipment as the total number of tablets the company managed to ship in Q4 2016 came down to 8.1 million, from 9 million in Q4 2015. As per the report, Samsung occupies the third place in tablet market share with 12.8%, while Apple slips to the number two spot with 20.6%, despite losing a chunk of its hold on the market. If you are wondering who the number one tablet OEM is, it's the "White Box" vendors! Apparently, people have realized that watching YouTube, streaming NetFlix and playing casual games on a tablet is possible without spending 500 dollars on an expensive device.

The Galaxy J7 Prime had started to receive the security patch for the month of February just yesterday and today, the same update is rolling out to the J5 Prime. Both updates feature no major changes or improvements apart from filling in the security gaps in the base Android build.

The updates will bring build version G610FDDU1AQA2 for the Galaxy J7 Prime and G570MUBU1AQA3 for the Galaxy J5 Prime. Both packages will land on your devices via OTA within the next few days.

In other news, the next iterations of these two devices, aka the Galaxy J5 (2017) and the Galaxy J7 (2017) are speculated to be released this March with mid-range specs. If you are interested in the specs of the J7 (2017), check it out here. The J5 (2017) will also have similar specs as the J7 (2017), except for a weaker SD 617 chip and a smaller 5.2-inch 720p display.

At this point, one may start to wonder what exactly is going on. Samsung SDI is the battery manufacturing division of the Korean tech giant which was initially responsible for supplying the first batch of faulty batteries which had sent the Galaxy Note 7 to its fiery grave. Although Samsung has put in a significant amount of money into the factories and the whole manufacturing setup to avoid future disasters, there's already bad news coming in from China.

The pictures were first published on Weibo and now Samsung has confirmed it officially. A Samsung SDI factory in Northern China had caught fire earlier and it may not have been as "minor" as the statement considers it to be. Take a look at the pictures to get a glimpse of what went down. However, according to the official statement, it was the waste disposal section of the factory that caught the fire and not the manufacturing division where the batteries for the Galaxy S8 are being made. Let's hope that it's true!
