Evan Blass from @evleaks has just released a few renders online via Twitter and they show the three colors of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 in full flurry. The colors are Black Onyx, Silver Titanium and Blue Coral, as supposedly named by Samsung. However, they have raised some eyebrows as the almost confirmed iris scanner we had seen before in the leaked photo of the Note 7's front panel, is missing here. The three circular lenses necessary for the iris scanner to work (as per a recent patent filed by Samsung) are nowhere to be seen in these alleged press renders of the next Note.

It should be noted that Evan Blass himself had declared that the Note 7 will have the much anticipated iris scanner, yet his own leak counters that theory now. Nonetheless, we can see a slightly curved back over here in this render, as well as an even lesser camera protrusion that seen on the S7. The S-Pen and its placement looks identical to that of the Note 5 and the dual Edge display can be clearly observed. Whether this is indeed the final render that will be seen on August 2 is something that we will find out in about a month's time from now.

At this point, one may start to wonder what exactly is going on. Samsung SDI is the battery manufacturing division of the Korean tech giant which was initially responsible for supplying the first batch of faulty batteries which had sent the Galaxy Note 7 to its fiery grave. Although Samsung has put in a significant amount of money into the factories and the whole manufacturing setup to avoid future disasters, there's already bad news coming in from China.

The pictures were first published on Weibo and now Samsung has confirmed it officially. A Samsung SDI factory in Northern China had caught fire earlier and it may not have been as "minor" as the statement considers it to be. However, according to the official statement, it was the waste disposal section of the factory that caught the fire and not the manufacturing division where the batteries for the Galaxy S8 are being made. Let's hope that it's true!

It sounds almost unbelievable that Samsung would move away from the S8's bezel-less design which earned them so much praise this year. In fact, it suspiciously resembles the Galaxy Note 7 in many ways. Other design elements are more or less what's to be expected. There's the dual camera, with an awkwardly placed fingerprint scanner right beside the camera module, the 3.5mm headphone jack, the USB Type-C port, the mono speaker outlet, the front camera, the iris scanner, the heart rate sensor and the other usual stuff.
