Samsung has announced before exclusively through our blog that it will update most of its devices to Google's latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow release. Google has officially released the final version of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OTA updates earlier this month.

Today, After collecting all of our internal information we are glad to announce the official list of Samsung Galaxy devices that will receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update officially with an ETA (Estimated Time of Arrival) dates.

Marshmallow for Mid-Range devices 

The Korean giant is still evaluating the Marshmallow 6.0.1 updates on some of its current mid-range devices, due to lower hardware performance and limited memory than High-end flagship devices. We will add any samsung Galaxy mid-range devices from the (E, A, J.. etc) family once we get a confirmation about them.

What's New on Samsung's 6.0.1 updates ?

Samsung Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow major updates will be rolling-out by the Early,2016 Over-the-air (OTA). The update will include a New TouchWiz UI with more Material Design, improved security, improved internet experience, better app permissions control, updated notification panel, updated system apps, HUGE improvements in the battery life, Redesigned App Drawer, minor UI changes along with various bug fixes and performance improvements.

Last May, Samsung Denmark announced that the Galaxy Note 2 (N7100) is planned on getting the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, However, the company didn't put a timeframe or ETA (Estimated time of arrival) for the update and it has reached the "In-development" stage about 3 months ago.

After receiving some reports we reached out for more info regarding the update and... Sadly, we got a confirmation today that the official Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Galaxy Note 2 has been Canceled, the decision was made after due to the device has failed to pass the final testing stage that performed before the final release.

Samsung always includes its popular TouchWiz UI on top of every new Android release to all its devices, running both "Lollipop + Touchwiz UI" will cause performance issues and lag which will affect the user experience on daily usage.

This is not the first time that Samsung canceled an update for a flagship device, same thing happened to the Galaxy S3, S4 mini, Ace 4, Tab Active, K zoom and tab 3.

In other hands, SamsungDenmark and SamsungMobileUK confirmed the news on their official twitter accounts too, admiting that there won't be any Lollipop updates for the Galaxy Note 2 at all.

We have reported before that Samsung Galaxy S5 mini has been confirmed to get Android Lollipop update. Today, the first official Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini duos (SM-G800H) is rolling-out. The update is available Over-the-air (OTA) and via KIES in Russia. After updating Galaxy A5 (A500FU) variant to Lollipop. Today, Samsung Galaxy A5 (SM-A500Y) first Official Android 5.0.2 Lollipop update is rolling-out. The update is currently available Over-the-air (OTA) and via Samsung KIES to Vodafone users in New Zealand, and will reach more regions from the same model during October.

We have officially reported before that T-Mobile is working on developing an Android 5.0 Lollipop firmware for its Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. Today, T-Mobile has just released the first official Android 5.1.1 Lollipop for the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition (SM-P607T). The update is currently Available Over-the-air (OTA) and via KIES in the United States.

The same update will be available to ALL Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition (SM-P60X) variants only worldwide. The firmware version is [P607TUVUBOI2] and the OTA package size is about 900MB in size. The update packs the latest Lollipop 5.1.1 build along with a new TouchWiz UI with Material Design, updated system Apps, updated Notifications panel, Better Multi-tasking, New lockscreen, various bug fixes and huge performance enhancements alongside, the most important "Stagefright security fix" patch that was implemented inside the build.
