Sony Mobile released 6 Apps that showcase the water resistance of its flagship Xperia smartphones. Sony Underwater Apps is currently Available in the United States for Xperia Z1s and Xperia Z2 via Google Play Store Here.

The apps, which look undeniably fun and goofy, utilize a great deal of clever engineering to work. The end result is an Xperia device that detects and changes behavior when submerged under water.

The abovementioned feat is achieved via a detector, which generates a test tone with frequency beyond that of the human ear. The device uses its dual-microphones to record sounds that are subsequently processed. The resulting spectrograms contain data that helps the device detect if it is in the air or under water.

Sony seems to be following Samsung on revealing a New Flag-ship phone and in the day too. Samsung already announced that it be releasing the Galaxy Note 4 on Sept,3 IFA event. Today, Sony is also announcing a Exclusive Unveiling Event for a new flagship device, which is the Xperia Z3 of course, Sony picked the same date as Samsung which is September,3rd.

Sony's invitation simply says "You are invited to the IFA 2014 Sony press conference and exclusive booth unveiling", and, how thoughtful of Sony, the event is set to start at 4:15pm local time. The invitation further hints at the products to be announced at the event with a collage of product pictures.

Again, Two new Photos of the Sony Xperia Z3 has been leaked. The images don't really reveal much about the phone's innards they show the exterior and it looks the same as a leak we saw two weeks ago. The similarities run through the design and show the same rounded edges unlike the Xperia Z2,which has flatter, sharper edges.

Z3

While we've seen the front, we haven't the back panel. It looks to be glass-made, like on the current-gen flagship and the camera lens looks the same with a single LED flash. The sides reveal a camera shutter button, volume rocker, a slightly redesigned power button as well as some sort of flap we're guessing for the microSD card slot.

The Sony Xperia Z3 is expected to retain the Snapdragon 801 processor and 3GB RAM of the Xperia Z2, as well as its 20.7MP Camera and probably the 1080p 5.2" display. The water resistance is also a sure thing and perhaps only the design will be different.

Xperia Z3

Here we go, the first live Photo alleged to be for a Sony Xperia Z3 Prototype device. The Photos leaked from china showing a large Xperia Smartphone with (what it looks to be) a QHD display.

If these photos are legit, the Z3 isn't too different from the Xperia Z2 when it comes to design. But we're not expecting Sony to alter its design language anytime soon anyway.

Xperia Z3

This alleged Z3 is an L55t model that's seemingly made for China. Its features include Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz. On the back of the handset we can see what appears to be the same 20.7MP G Lens camera that's found on the Xperia Z2. There's no clear info regarding the display of the Z3, so we don't know if it's going to be a 1080p, or a Quad HD one.

Xperia Z3

Sony is rumored to announce the Xperia Z3 on the IFA event this September along with some other new products to be on the markets before the holidays season.

Next Month, it will be 6 months since Sony released the Xperia Z2 at the MWC 2014 on January. It hasn't been that long, but rumors and leaks about Sony Xperia Z3 has already started to spread around the web. Sony says it has committed itself to pushing out a new flagship handset every 6 months.

Z3 score

The unannounced Sony D6653 took a visit to the AnTuTu benchmark site, and scored about 37,169 points. The interesting thing is that the Sony D6653 could be the Sony Xperia Z3. That would be the next flagship model for the manufacturer. The Z3 will be announced later Next Month August,2014 to be on the markets by early September.

The information from one of those "About" pages shows that the Sony D6653 is indeed the Sony Xperia Z3. If the leak is legitimate, that would mean that Sony's next flagship is responsible for that AnTuTu score above 37,000. The Sony D6653 features Android 4.4.4 with a quad-core Snapdragon 801 MSM8974AC processor under the hood.
