Dog wearable

A company based in Tokyo, Anicall, has developed a wearable for your dog that is actually functional, rather than be a gratuitous adornment and waste of money. Called Shiraseru Am, which means "tell" in Japanese, this wearable will monitor your pet's behavioral data.

Shiraseru Am informs users of the behavior, feelings, and health status of pets. Integrated with a smartphone app, it will keep pet owners updated on how a pet spends its day at home while the owner is away.

The device stores a pet's behavioral data in the cloud and lets an owner understand its behavioral patterns via artificial intelligence-based technology. Prior to shipping, Anicall's team members have been studying cats and dogs to verify behavioral data, while the company's neuroethologic scientists are conducting behavioral analyses.

We have seen many wearable devices for pets but Anicall is outstanding because it allows the acquiring of data and verifying of behavioral patterns as a one-stop solution consisting of a mobile app and a wearable device.

Gear A

Today, Samsung released a Teaser poster shows a rounded design Smartwatch, the Korean company didn't release any smartwatches this year. Samsung's upcoming Smartwatch is codenamed "Orbis", and will be called "Samsung Gear A". It will come with a round screen, unlike all of its predecessors.

Samsung confirmed that the Gear A will pack a round display through an official press release, the PR is announcing that the software development kit (SDK) for its next smartwatch will be out before the wearable itself launches.

In this way Samsung is inviting developers to design Apps for its new Rounded Smartwatch. Developers who are interested to take part in this effort can sign up at a dedicated website, and then wait for Samsung to contact them with more details.

The giveaway is in the image attached to said press release, which features only round app examples. So at least this is clear now. What's left to happen is for Samsung to actually announce the Gear A, and there's currently no telling when that will occur.

Alcatel OneTouch Watch

Last year, a lot of Smartphones makers jumped into the Smartwatch Market, and apparently in 2015 we can expect some more of that. Specifically, it looks like those companies that haven't yet presented a smartwatch will do so soon. The honor of being first to do that this year goes to Alcatel.

That's because what you can see in the image above is the Alcatel OneTouch Watch. TCL (the company owns Alcatel brand) is obviously quite proud of it, since it decided to semi-announce it a few days before the CES 2015 event.

That doesn't, however, mean that we get any details about it alongside the picture. Presumably every spec will be unveiled next week, but before then we can see that the Wave 2 comes with round touchscreen. At least 4 strap options will be available. This Watch will be Available for purchasing in the upcoming months.

Smartwatches are invading the wearables market and Sony is deciding to take a step ahead. According to Bloomberg report, Sony is said to be making a new Smartwatch whose surfaces are made entirely from E-Paper. The watch is said to "emphasize style, rather than trying to outdo more technological offerings."

This Sony smartwatch will focus on style and customization, using e-paper all around the watch will allow users to completely change the style and look of the watch from the Face down to the Strap.

The project is apparently the first to come out of a new innovation center set up by Sony CEO Kaz Hirai. Intended to produce Sony's next breakthrough product-the Walkman or PlayStation of its time-it's not yet produced anything game changing. There is no expected release date for this watch but we expect it on markets by 2016.
