The Samsung Galaxy Wide will be exclusively available on the South Korean carrier SK Telecom in under a month and from the look of things it will be exclusive to South Korea as well. This is official news as Samsung just revealed the details; along with the device itself in its home country yesterday.

The SM-G600S aka the Samsung Galaxy Wide seems suspiciously similar to the Galaxy On7 handset from 2015 and even the model number is almost the same (On7 has the model number G600FY). After looking at the internal hardware, one might be tempted to believe that this is actually the Galaxy On7 from last year that the Korean OEM is rebranding and launching in South Korea, after a few tweaks and improvements for SK Telecom.

Considering the outdated specifications of the smartphone, the 319,000 ($276) Korean Won price tag seems overpriced. The only interesting aspect of the Galaxy Wide is the fact that it will sport a T-DMB chip for accessing digital terrestrial broadcasting signals within South Korea.

It is now official; Samsung is going to reveal the Galaxy S7 Edge Olympic Edition on this Thursday, July 7. In case you are not aware of how it looks exactly, take a look at the picture above as we are pretty sure this is the final version that we are going to see on Thursday. The differences in between the standard Galaxy S7 Edge and the S7 Edge Olympic Edition are however not in the internal hardware. As you can see, there will be some obvious cosmetic changes to the smartphone's standard design. Additionally, there should also be some Olympic themes and wallpapers inside.

The entire phone sports five different colors to match the five colors of the Olympic Rings. There's blue encircling the camera and the flash at the back, while the earpiece is yellow and the Home button has a yellow encircling around it. The entire body is black, whereas green and red are the chosen colors for the volume rockers and the power button respectively. In order to know about the pricing and the availability of the S7 Edge Olympic Edition, you may have to wait till July 7 though.

As August 2 draws ever so close, we prepare ourselves for Samsung's most powerful smartphone this year, in the form of the Galaxy Note 7. Olixar had given away a lot when it first listed the covers for the Galaxy Note 7 just a while ago, but just recently, even more was revealed when they uploaded images while listing a tempered glass for the upcoming Note 7. The image clearly shows an USB Type-C port on the smartphone, as we had been reporting all along.

The images also show us the Galaxy Note 7's iris scanner, regular headphone jack, bottom firing speaker, ambient light sensor and the selfie cam. The S-Pen can be seen tucked away into its slot at the bottom right. The general consensus is that Samsung will unveil a brand new iteration of their Gear VR headset and that will use USB Type-C top connect to the Note 7. The new VR headset is also rumoured to be unveiled at the press conference on August 2, along with the next Note. Do you like the new USB Type-C port or would you have preferred the older micro-USB port instead?

According to Mel Wells, who is popular as a writer for fitness and health in the UK, the selfies taken from a Samsung Galaxy S7 may make you prettier by removing original blemishes from your face in the photo. It removed her freckles from the selfie she took as the S7 has the Beauty mode turned on by default. Apparently, she did not appreciate the little airbrushing that the camera app did automatically and had this to say.

"This means everyone who gets a new Samsung phone and flicks the front camera on is automatically being told ‘Hi, we're Samsung and we think you look way better when we automatically airbrush your selfies for you."

This have hurt the sentiments of a few who are against the worldwide marketing ploy to trap customers into thinking that they don't look good enough and need some sort of a product to look better. However, since it is just a setting that you can turn off at will, many may fail to see the point of turning such trivial matters into issues. What do you think? Evan Blass from @evleaks has just released a few renders online via Twitter and they show the three colors of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 in full flurry. The colors are Black Onyx, Silver Titanium and Blue Coral, as supposedly named by Samsung. However, they have raised some eyebrows as the almost confirmed iris scanner we had seen before in the leaked photo of the Note 7's front panel, is missing here. The three circular lenses necessary for the iris scanner to work (as per a recent patent filed by Samsung) are nowhere to be seen in these alleged press renders of the next Note.

It should be noted that Evan Blass himself had declared that the Note 7 will have the much anticipated iris scanner, yet his own leak counters that theory now. Nonetheless, we can see a slightly curved back over here in this render, as well as an even lesser camera protrusion that seen on the S7. The S-Pen and its placement looks identical to that of the Note 5 and the dual Edge display can be clearly observed. Whether this is indeed the final render that will be seen on August 2 is something that we will find out in about a month's time from now.
