galaxy s6 wireless charging

Samsung hinted on it's newest official blog post that the Galaxy S6 will feature a built-in wireless charging, actually the company hinted that its whole 2015 Galaxy line-up will feature wireless-charging.

"With our upcoming Galaxy smartphones, users will be able to enter a new wireless world like never before."  -  Samsung Tomorrow, Official Blog

Blessing us with a unibody phone, which will be a first for the Galaxy S line, Samsung has apparently decided to compensate for the sealed battery compartment with highly efficient inductive charging for the Galaxy S6. This might also have something to do with the famed rich accessory ecosystem that Samsung is reportedly prepping around its new flagship.

The latest blog post from Samsung, which shines a spotlight on the wireless charging standards, history, and latest developments, is another hint in that direction, so we can't wait to see how the company has managed to embed wireless charging in a metal unibody.

Android M

Sense 7, TouchWiz, Bravia Engine... All the major Android manufacturers already sporting some kind of theme support, it was a bit logical for Google to bake in a similar functionality in Android OS itself, which will make it even easier for willing manufacturers to embrace theme support in their custom skins.

From the looks of it, Android M, which is currently internally known as Macadamia Nut Cookie, might be the first release of the OS that will come with baked-in theme support (we are not talking about the already-present interface themes, but of full-blown, interface-wide themes).

Android M themes

It seems that Android M has adopted Sony's RRO (Runtime Resource Overlays) commits, which means that native theme support is at least supported.

The well-hidden theme support in the M Developer Preview was spotted by a user that has been meddling with the Layers Manager app. Reportedly, the latter has allowed the user to try a few themes on a rooted Android device. It is still pretty limited at this point, as we are, after all, dealing with a developer preview, The final Android M version may fully support themes.

samsung monitor

If you ever doubted Samsung's seriousness in going with wireless charging support for its flagship family, think again! The company has introduced the SE370 monitor that comes with built-in wireless charger. Available in 23.6-inches and 27-inches, all a user needs to charge his/her mobile device is to place it on the charging area of the monitor stand. Samsung says the monitor supports Qi wireless charging standard.

If picture quality is what matters you the most in addition to the wireless charging support, the monitor uses a Plane-to-Line-Switching (PLS) panel that gives a 178-degree viewing angle along with a brightness of up to 300 cd/m2.

Lollipop

It has been the hot thing to make kill switches for phones recently. Carriers have been asked by government agencies to do it, states are passing laws to require it, Apple did it, and now Google is implementing it in Android 5.0, Lollipop will come with an opt-in "Factory Reset Protection" option that keeps a thief from being able to wipe your phone, making it a less appealing target in the first place.

Android Lock

If you activate this feature, your Google login will be required to factory reset the phone or tablet. Presumably this will also prevent factory resets through recovery-otherwise it would be pretty useless. A secure lock screen of some sort will be required for this feature as well. The feature will be built-in on all Android Lollipop.
