Google took the wraps off the first Project Ara modular phone that will be commercially available at a dedicated developer conference. Dubbed Spiral 2, the handset will first launch in Puerto Rico in the second half of this year.
The Project Ara Spiral 2 model specifications include dual application processors (Marvell PXA1928 and Tegra K1). A 720p display, 5MP camera, microUSB port, battery, and speaker are also part of the setup. Network connectivity options consist of 3G modem, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
There are 11 working modules for the Project Ara 2 smartphone. Google plans to have as many as thirty options available by the end of this year. Watch the Promo video below!
Google Play Movies App has been updated to version 3.4.23 and like many other Google apps being updated in preparation for Android 5.0, Movies now has a fancy-schmancy Material Design logo. The old logo had a subtle Play Store-themed background, but version 3.4.23 uses the same slightly "folded" look we've seen from other updated apps.
In addition to new Material Design standards all over the app, Google Play Movies & TV has some special additions just for Chromecast users. Now when casting a video to your TV, your phone or tablet acts as a second screen info display, showing the actors on screen at the moment above the progress bar and playback controls.

According to a source, the Snapdragon 810 will be driving the LG G4. As we recently noted, overheating issues with the chip are leading smartphone manufacturers to consider other options. Samsung is reportedly going to stuff up to 90% of its initial production of the Samsung Galaxy S6 with its own Exynos chipset. LG does have its NUCLUN octa-core processor, but it apparently is not up to snuff. As a result, Qualcomm's chip is still expected inside the LG G4.
Besides carrying 3GB RAM, a dump of Android 5.0 has brought forth evidence of 5312 × 2988 resolution pictures that will be available from the LG G4. That leads to speculation that the device will feature a 16MP wide-lens rear camera, which would be a nice bump from the 13MP rear camera on the LG G3.
We will soon see the LG G4 unwrapped next March at MWC in Barcelona.
