It is going to be the 25th year of Intel's undisputed number one position in the chip manufacturing business, but latest stats and data analysis is predicting that things may not exactly go that way. Samsung is about to snatch that title of market leader in the semiconductor industry from Intel, thanks mainly to the Korean company's booming DRAM and NAND memory chip business.

According to IC Insights, Samsung may overtake Intel by the end of the second quarter of this year. Intel will possibly end up with revenue of 14.4 billion by the end of Q2, 2017, while Samsung will likely end the second quarter with 14.6 billion in revenues. A point to be noted here is that Intel still has a higher sales number; it's just that Samsung's chips are more expensive. Keep in mind though that this is just speculation at this point and we will have to wait a while to find out if this actually happens.

According to a report by SamMobile, Samsung has just started to release the much awaited Nougat update for the Galaxy A5 (2016) in Europe. To be more precise, it's only available in Russia as of now, but more European nations should be seeing the update soon enough. This marks the beginning of Samsung releasing Nougat for its older mid-range handsets from last year.

The update contains firmware version A510FXXU4CQDK and is available via OTA in the country right now. If you want to check out the firmware yourself from some other nation, you will have to wait for a while because it's still not available at our firmware section yet. Nevertheless, there's a lot of other firmware and updates available for Samsung smartphones and tablets there, so be sure to check them out.

Now that Samsung has started to update Bixby with the missing voice functionality in South Korea, they have also released multiple videos which demonstrate how good Bixby's voice functionality actually is. Unfortunately, they are only available in Korean at the moment, so don't expect to understand too much from the videos themselves, unless you know the language of course.

Nevertheless, the videos serve two purposes in my book. Firstly they show off the digital assistant's capabilities to help us use the phone completely with voice only. It can open apps, edit images, share them wherever you want them to be shared, launch the camera, take pictures/videos, change device settings and so much more. Secondly it confirms that Samsung's claims with Bixby at launch were on point, albeit a bit premature. We have linked all the videos throughout this article so that you can check them out for yourself. Enjoy!

Would you believe it? The unlocked version of the S7 Edge is finally getting its first taste of Nougat! Although it has been more than four months since all carrier versions of the two devices first started to receive Android N, the unlocked version was kept out of the loop for some unknown reason. Theoretically, the update should have actually arrived faster on the unlocked version like it does everywhere else, but that doesn't happen to Samsung phones in America quite clearly.

The good news is that it's finally out there, heading towards your unfortunate and outdated S7 Edge as you read this, in the form of a massive OTA update. The bad news is that it's late enough to be too early for an update to Android O! Considering these are 2016 flagships from Samsung that we are talking about, it would be safe to say that if you plan to buy the Galaxy S8 in the US and get updates too, you better pledge your allegiance to one of the networks. By the way, if you are wondering why the S7 isn't mentioned on this list, then that's because Samsung hasn't released the Nougat 7.0 update for the flat screen variant yet...

Head over to our firmware section to find all the latest available updates for your Samsung smartphones and tablets.
