In a world plagued by terrorists and psychopaths pretty much anywhere you can think of, it's always a bad idea to carry a gun-shaped anything at the airport. Although this should go without saying, apparently, an individual in the London Stansted Airport did not have enough common sense to know that. Alternately, it could be just a very stupid idea of a prank that went south for the man.

This person walked into the airport with a gun-shaped iPhone case, which was found on him during the mandatory security check. The photo above is for the purpose of illustration and was NOT the way in which the individual was touting the pseudo-gun. However, that did not save him from getting charged for possession of an imitation firearm in a public place, as well as for threatening behaviour to cause alarm or distress.

Popular online sites like Amazon and eBay used to list items similar to this iPhone case, but they have completely stopped selling them after recent terrorist attacks and multiple warnings by law enforcement officers issued to citizens against using anything that imitates a gun in a public place. If you were planning to buy something similar for your phone, it's probably a VERY bad idea!

Yesterday, Samsung unveiled their range of Universal Flash Storage (UFS) 1.0 memory cards to the world and they will have significant advantages over micro-SD cards that we use now. These are specifically targeted towards D-SLR and 3D VR cameras, along with action cameras and even drones! Apart from the standard 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variants, the UFS 1.0 cards will offer even a 256GB variant.

If you are like us, you must be wondering what advantage it will give you over traditional micro-SD, when using it in a smartphone. The answer to that is better 3D gaming on phones that use their external memory as the first choice and faster, smoother 4K and VR media playback. The UFS card will read data at a speed of 530MBps, which will put it in the same category as a standard SATA Solid State Hard Disc used in full fledged computers! To give you an idea of the speed, consider the fact that the next time you are transferring a movie on to your UFS card, every GB of data will just take 2 seconds to write onto it. That's five times more than what micro-SD cards are capable of right now and very impressive.

The Samsung Galaxy Wide will be exclusively available on the South Korean carrier SK Telecom in under a month and from the look of things it will be exclusive to South Korea as well. This is official news as Samsung just revealed the details; along with the device itself in its home country yesterday.

The SM-G600S aka the Samsung Galaxy Wide seems suspiciously similar to the Galaxy On7 handset from 2015 and even the model number is almost the same (On7 has the model number G600FY). After looking at the internal hardware, one might be tempted to believe that this is actually the Galaxy On7 from last year that the Korean OEM is rebranding and launching in South Korea, after a few tweaks and improvements for SK Telecom.

The latest patch update has been released for the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge on Verizon and it addresses a severe issue that needed fixing. The two Samsung flagship handsets from 2015 had a tendency to perform automatic Factory Data Reset if they failed to recognize the fingerprint multiple times in a row. Normally, the failed attempts should lead to a screen where the preset PIN number must be inserted in order to access the phone, but a bug caused the smartphones to skip that step entirely and go straight to Factory Data Reset. As one can imagine, that could be extremely inconvenient and thankfully, this patch solves that issue successfully.

As it stands now, on failing to register his/her fingerprint as the authentic one for fifteen times in a row, the S6 or S6 Edge will prompt the user to enter the preset PIN, like it should. If however, the wrong PIN number is entered five times in a row on that screen as well, the smartphone will perform an automatic Factory Data Reset to secure all user data from the intruder. Once you download and install the update via Wi-Fi, the firmware version should change to MMB29K.G920VVRU4CPF2 for the Galaxy S6 and MMB29K.G925VVRU4CPF2 for the Galaxy S6 Edge. Feel free to check manually from Settings > About device > Software update to see if it has arrived on your phone yet.

Staying true to the tradition of naming their Android iterations after desserts and sweets, Google has finally announced the official name of Android N as Nougat. In case you are curious, real life nougats are chewy Spanish sweets/ingredients made with whipped egg whites, roasted nuts, sugar, honey and candied fruit.

As has been the custom for Google, Android 7.0 Nougat has now received its official statue which depicts the Google Android standing over three nougat bars at its feet. The company expressed its appreciation for the public's response when they had put up an official site for anyone and everyone to suggest a name for the next Android OS. In the launch video, it was also mentioned that those suggestions played a major role in selecting the nougat as their preferred choice.

Android 7.0 Nougat should start to make its appearance by late 2016, especially on Nexus devices. This is a version of the OS that will be heavy on the visual animations and will offer a much better graphical support than Android Marshmallow, which will make way for superior looking games on your Android smartphones.
