HTC has started Rolling-out official Android 5.1 Lollipop update to its latest flagship devices, HTC One M9 and HTC One M9+ (unlocked variants). Carrier variants should start getting the same update in the upcoming few weeks.
The Update packs Android build 5.1 (Software version 2.8.617.4) keeping the same Sense 7.0 UI version but with few extra tweaks that includes new UI animations, improved sound controls that allow the user to enable Do Not Disturb mode but still allow alarms through and Camera enhancements.
In this update HTC is giving M9 users the ability to tweak the color temperature of their phone's display. The One M9 Lollipop 5.1 update brings multi-user support that allows Guest access to your device or a second user (using his own Google/HTC account), so that he can install his own apps and access his account using the device without affecting the original owner's data/account.
Samsung has announced its thinnest and lightest tablet ever, Galaxy Tab S2 just few days ago. The device is launching with Android 5.0.2 Lollipop pre-installed.
The Galaxy Tab S2 9.7-inch and 8-inch variants is available as Wi-Fi only or Wi-Fi and LTE configurations. Starting from today it can be pre-ordered from Samsung's website in the Netherlands.
As for the price, the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 Wi-Fi model can be pre-ordered for €399 ($438), while the 9.7-inch Wi-Fi variant can be reserved for €499 ($548). Color options include black for the former and both black and white for the latter. Shipments will begin on September,3rd.
The long-rumored Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ is expected to be announced alongside the Galaxy Note 5, possibly by August,13th. We still haven't got all the info regarding the Edge+ variant yet.
According to the latest reports, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ will pack a 4GB RAM along with the Exynos 7420 SoC chipset, same as the Galaxy Note 5. The Battery capacity is also reported to be a 3,000 mAh cell (unremovable).
As for the device's design, it will have a very thin body keeping the same front-back glass and the dual-edged curved display. Stay tuned for the official announcement next month.
Samsung has already two variants of its latest flagship, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. The Korean giant is now preparing to release a third variant with a smaller design, lower specs and lower price to be called "S6 mini".
Today, First Samsung Galaxy S6 mini live photos leaked, it shows a small 4.7-inch metal-unibody device with similar design as original Galaxy S6, but no curved display. We still have no official information regarding the specs of this device.
The Galaxy S6 mini is rumored to pack a Snapdragon 808 SoC, 2 GB RAM, 4.7" screen with 720p resolution, and a 15 MP rear camera but the rear-glass body is still unconfirmed yet. It is expected to launch on August,13th along with Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+.
