Samsung Mobile announced that it began the mass production of its latest 20nm 4GB LPDDR4 Mobile DRAM memory chips. Using the 20nm manufacturing process, these LPDDR4 chips will be reportedly 50% faster than the fastest LPDDR3 memory on the market, while also consuming 40% less power (1.1 volts).
The 4GB RAM chips will be ready to debut in Smartphones and Tablets by Late 2015. The chances of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 5 rocking 4GB of RAM is quite high.
The I/O data rate is up to 3,200 megabits per second, a whopping two times faster than the DDR3 DRAM used in PCs. As a result, the the new LPDDR4 RAM can support UHD video recording and playback and continuous shooting of high-resolution images with over 20 megapixels.
Samsung is planning to release a New flagship Phablet this year, that will be called "Galaxy Note 5". As we used to every year, we are hearing a lot of rumors and reports about the Note 5 regarding the device's specifications, release date, hardware components.. etc.
We gathered here all the Info we have about the Galaxy Note 5 so far. We would like to remind that this is all rumors and reports that are not officially confirmed yet.
Galaxy Note 5 Display
According to the latest reports, Samsung will start manufacturing Ultra HD Super AMOLED display panels with a resolution of 2160 x 3840 pixels for Galaxy Note 5. Samsung's Semiconductor and Display Technology leaked road-map workshop last year hinted again at having higher-resolution UHD smartphone displays in the pipeline for late 2015.
These panels will use "diamond pixel", a non-standard pixel matrix arrangement that is closer to PenTile, packing a 762ppi pixel density nobody would notice the individual pixels on the screen anyway.
Galaxy Note 5 Performance
We already reported before that Samsung Mobile has already began mass production of a 20nm 4GB LPDDR4 Mobile DRAM memory chips. Using the 20nm manufacturing process, these LPDDR4 chips will be reportedly 50% faster than the fastest LPDDR3 memory chips on the market and consuming 40% less power (1.1 volts) too.
These 4GB Ram chips will be Available by Late 2015 and it's reported that the Galaxy Note 5 will pack the same LPDDR4 4GB Ram chips.
Galaxy Note 5 Release Date
Looking at Samsung's unpacked events date in the past 3 years, we can surely expect the Galaxy Note 5 to launch sometimes during the period between September - October this year [2015]. The Korean giant will held a 2nd episode of it's 2015 Unpacked event for the Note 5 and will probably unveil a New Galaxy Gear VR and Gear Smartwatch.

Today, some reports comes from South Korea confirms that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 5 phablet will pack the same 4GB LPDDR4 RAM chip we mentioned above, which brings the phablets performance to a whole new look.
Also confirmed is the fact that the Note 5 will use Samsung's own Exynos 7422 chipset, the company's first to be a true single-chip solution. This means one package will incorporate the octa-core CPU, the GPU, the RAM, the storage, as well as the Shannon 333 LTE modem.
Samsung has just announced the Galaxy Note5 (5th Generation Galaxy Note). In this one, Samsung has dropped plastic completely for a metal and glass follow-up to the Galaxy S6. The bezels around the 5.7" screen are narrower, the phablet itself is almost a millimeter thinner making it easier to hold in the hand.
The Super AMOLED screen has QHD resolution as before, but the way it interacts with the S Pen stylus has been revamped. The stylus is clickable, though that only serves to get it out of its sheath. Once you do, you can start immediately taking a note even when the screen is "off" (with AMOLED the distinction is small).
As of the Specs, the Galaxy Note5 has 4GB of RAM, up from 3GB on both the Note 4 and Galaxy S6. This gives apps more playroom, but the Exynos 7420 chipset will have an even bigger impact it's currently the fastest mobile chipset on the market, Samsung didn't even need to overclock it as new competition is yet to catch up.
Storage is based on the fast UFS 2.0 standard. While it outruns regular eMMC 5.0 storage, data hoarders have been locked out of expanding the memory the base model has 32GB, you can upgrade to 64GB and that's it. No microSD slot, no 128GB option.
The camera is a 16MP sensor behind a wide f/1.9 aperture, plus optical image stabilization and auto real-time HDR. It can record 2160p video or livestream 1080p to YouTube. For selfies you get a 5MP sensor and an f/1.9 aperture. Samsung has updated the audio department with Ultra High Quality Audio, which promises "richer" sound. This feature will work over Bluetooth with new compatible Level On headphones.
The Galaxy Note5 checks wireless all boxes, but a highlight is Samsung Pay, which works over NFC or MST (Magnetic Secure Transmission). Pay will launch in the US in September so it will be ready when Note5 arrive in users' hands. Much like the storage, the battery has been sealed off. What's more the capacity dropped to 3,000mAh. Samsung is counting on Fast Charging both wired and wireless!
The Samsung Galaxy Note5 will be available for pre-order today, coming in Black Sapphire, White Pearl, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium. It will be available in the US on August 21st, with pre-orders starting today. You can go for a hands-on as soon as tomorrow in 7,000 locations across the US. Pricing will be announced by the carriers.

Although the Galaxy Note 8 was launched with 6GB of RAM on Wednesday, rumor has it that Samsung is planning to release a cheaper version of its latest flagship smartphone with 4GB of RAM. Everything else should be exactly the same though and that brings us to the question, would you mind less RAM if you could save up on some money for that?
As of now, the rumor suggests that the phone is only being developed for China, but it could be making an appearance in other Asian countries as well. The Note 8 with 4GB of RAM came into limelight after it was seen passing through the TENAA. As per the report, this one will be cheaper at 5,664 Yuan/$850, whereas the regular Note 8 with 6GB of RAM should be priced at around 6,288 Yuan or $943. We are not sure if this cheaper version will hit any other countries outside Asia though.
