Inarguably, the OnePlus 5 is one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2017 and even if you are a diehard fan of Samsung or Apple, chances are that you are taking a look at this article now just to see what the Chinese manufacturer might have cooked up this year. We won't disappoint you because we do have a lot of info on the OnePlus 5 for you today.

The Slimmest Flagship

According to CEO Pete Lau, the upcoming smartphone is going to be the slimmest flagship smartphone ever made, but that slimness will not come at the cost of performance or functionality in any way. However, there is a bit of confusion regarding whether the OnePlus 5 will indeed be the slimmest flagship smartphone in the world or just the slimmest flagship ever made by the company.

The Phone Beneath

In the latest teaser, we see a phone that is smaller in dimensions than the OnePlus 3, hidden beneath the OnePlus 3T. While this serves to show that it will be smaller and slimmer than the 3T, nothing else was revealed.

The Release Date

A "leaked" poster on Weibo shows the release date of an OnePlus device to be June 15; whether or not it can be trusted is something that is beyond us at the moment.

What We Know

The OnePlus 5 will without a shred of doubt, will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and Adreno 540 combo, helped by at least 6GB or even 8GB of RAM for an unprecedented multitasking experience. The 5.5-inch screen size will be retained with a bumped up QHD resolution. 64GB should be available from the start and a 128GB variant could be making an appearance later in the year as well.

We all love to play video games on our smartphones but playing video games like pubG or other games with complex controls aren't a natural fit for handheld devices due to tapping and swiping limitations. But this is going to change with Xiaomi's latest gaming smartphone released earlier this year. It had a display with a magic touch feature that reduces the friction. The phone relies on the device sensitive display that let you reassign controls to a more convenient location on the display. It works similar to 3D touch on the iPhone and changes the screen's response depending on how hard you push on it, except is more useful.

You can activate the magic touch feature while playing the video game in the landscape mode. To activate in-game you need to swipe in from the top right corner of the screen. It will ask you to choose which two button mappings you would like to change, and where you would like to have them on the display. Obviously, the way you choose is entirely up to you, but the idea here is to reduce finger movement while you are playing the game.

PUBG on mobile is a great example to illustrate the difference between regular display and shark 2's pressure sensitive screen. Originally, PUBG's controls put the sprint button where you naturally place your finger. Magic touch let us create a secondary action right over the sprint button, that when pressed opens the inventory on the right side without lifting a finger. Magic touch isn't limited to one game. You can use it on any landscape-oriented game that has controls. However, this kind of screen is available only with Xiaomi Shark 2. So try buying this phone if you are crazy about video games and even play on your smartphone.

Vivo is no longer just another Chinese manufacturer trying to copy Apple; as a matter of fact, it has not only risen as a global smartphone OEM to reckon with, one can go as far as saying that the Chinese company has managed to beat both Samsung and Apple when it comes to introducing true innovation. If you are wondering why anyone would think so, then you probably don't know that Vivo has already showcased the in-display, under the screen fingerprint scanner with its Vivo X20 Plus UD smartphone, that both Apple and Samsung have failed to do, even after repeated attempts by the latter in the last year or so. As if that was not impressive enough, take a look at the leaked shots of this smartphone from Vivo, which will likely be coming in with the in-screen fingerprint scanner and this gorgeous, truly bezel-less display.

Sources are unsure whether this is the Vivo Xplay 7 or not, but it could very well be. It would be really interesting to see if Vivo also packs in a 4K resolution in that beautiful display, just like the rumors had been predicting. If they do, that would make Vivo the only company apart from Sony to have a smartphone with a 4K display. It is quite possible that the upcoming Snapdragon 845 SoC will be powering the device as well, alongside an internal storage capacity of 256GB/512GB. Would you buy this beauty if it became available in your country?

Old-galaxy-note 8

Technology has never been as disposable as it is right now. When your laptop is old, you throw it away and buy a new one. When a new version of the iPad (or your preferred brand of tablet) is released, you stop using the old one even if there's nothing mechanically wrong with it. Above and beyond all of this, you probably replace your mobile phone every one to two years as your existing contract comes to an end. You copy all the data, photographs, and apps across from your old phone to your new one, and then your old phone goes in a drawer, never to be used again.

Whenever you go through the upgrade process, you'll find that your network tries to push one of the latest high-functioning brand-new handsets on you. Even if they weren't doing that, you'd probably be drawn to those phones anyway. Because new phones are released every year, you're left with the impression that the technology that's inside them improves every year, too, and that your best option is to get a newer phone in order to stay ahead of the curve. Is that always the case, though? It's the most expensive choice to make, but is it the right one? Could you save money by getting an older refurbished phone and never notice the difference?

There are a few things to consider if you're looking at replacing your current phone with a refurbished model, and they boil down to what we call ‘phone essentials.' We'll tackle them one at a time.

How Good Is The Phone's Camera?

Despite what everyone believes, the processors inside mobile phones don't usually get better with every passing year. The Snapdragon processor inside the best phones right now is the same as the Snapdragon processor that was inside last year's phones. The cameras, however, do get better. Very few people have digital cameras anymore, and so we rely on our phones as a replacement for them. Right now, the Pixel 4 and the iPhone 11 Pro are thought to have the best phone cameras on the market, but the latest Huawei isn't far behind them. If you can get a refurbished or second-hand model of any of those phones, you'll likely have nothing to worry about in terms of picture quality for the next two years. Your quality guide for this is the megapixel count. If photos are vitally important to you, you might prefer to get a newer phone.

How Good Is It At Playing Games?

This all comes back to what we said earlier about processors. The games that phones are required to play now are very different from the games that phones played twenty years ago when 'Snake' was popular. Nowadays, people expect their handsets to cope with the latest mobile version of 'Fornite.' There's good news here, though. The first thing to remember is that recently, video games have been taking cues from online slots websites. You don't need to own a casino to play an online slots UK, and you no longer need to own a console to play a video game. Services like Google Stadia mean that games can be played via streaming from servers elsewhere - the exact same way that online slots websites serve their customers - and so there's no strain on your hardware. The second thing to remember is that processors don't improve all that much from year to year. So long as your refurbished phone is well-maintained, there's no reason that a two-year-old phone can't run games just as well as a brand new one can.

What's The Battery Life Like?

This is the real killer when it comes to picking up a second-hand or refurbished model. Even with the best will in the world and a very careful owner, the life cycle of a phone's battery will depreciate over time. Apple has even cited this as the reason they deliberately slow their older phone models down over time. There's nothing that can be done to avoid this - it's a process of simple wear and tear that will happen to every phone. It's possible in some cases to acquire a new or refurbished battery at the same time you acquire your refurbished phone, but from a practical point of view, this often pushes the cost up so high that you might as well just bite the bullet and get a new phone. It's not all bad news, though. The competitiveness of your second-hand phone's battery life will depend on how good the phone was when it was brand new. A two-year-old 'flagship' phone from a major provider like Samsung might have a better battery life than a brand new budget phone from a lesser-known provider because it uses superior parts.

How Much Storage Does It Come With?

Here's another factor that can kill the effectiveness of older phones. While the size of the average mobile phone isn't getting all that much bigger (unless you choose to buy a phone with an enormous screen), the amount of storage inside them is. Thirty-two gigabytes used to be considered a massive amount of space. Now it's considered insufficient, and 128GB is about the industry average. That will probably double a year from now, and double again the year after. Modern apps take up so much space that you can find yourself running short surprisingly quickly, and if you allow apps like WhatsApp to store all picture and video content directly to your phone, you'll find the space disappearing even faster. This doesn't have to be a barrier to buying an older phone if you apply a little creative thinking to the problem, though. We live in the age of cloud storage. So long as you're comfortable with the idea of your phone constantly backing everything up to the cloud (use a solid password, and you should be fine), there's no reason to store anything on your phone at all. An uncluttered old phone will run faster than a cluttered new one, and you'll get much more life out of it.

If budget is no issue, then it's better to buy a new phone than an old one in almost all cases. If you're inclined to save a little cash, though, and you don't mind sacrificing a little space or speed, last year's flagship phones are still capable of delivering high performance. Don't feel trapped by a sneaky salesperson - consider all of your options carefully before making a decision.

easeus-1

Data can be lost from computers in more ways than one, but EaseUS promises to be the only solution you will ever need to both back up current data and to recover any lost data. Most of us have lost important documents, precious images and much more at some point and it never feels good, but is the EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Free version actually the only software we will ever need to help us out in such situations? Well, it certainly seems like so!

Backing Up Daily

easeus-2

The only way to absolutely make sure that you never lose any of your data is to back it up on a daily basis. All hardware storage devices in existence are susceptible to unforeseen crashes, which makes backing up data all the more necessary. With the help of the all new and updated EaseUS Todo Backup Home, users will be able to do exactly that as they can set up the software's automatic backup feature to consistently ensure that everything is always backed up on the cloud. Ideally, this should save you even the trouble of having to use EaseUS's deleted data recovery feature itself!

Support for Multiple Devices

easeus-3

Whatever storage unit the data was lost from, it is almost an assured thing that EaseUS supports deleted data recovery from that specific piece of hardware. This means that USB drives, memory cards, HDDs, SSDs and just about any other type of PC/Mac storage unit all kinds of flash storage devices are supported by the software, as far as data recovery is concerned.

Support for Multiple Formats

easeus-4

Just like EaseUS supports almost all storage devices, the software also supports the recovery of almost every common data type out there. The total number exceeds 1,000 easily, so it would be impossible to list them all here. Nonetheless, the following list should give you an idea about the supported file formats.

Image: JPG/JPEG, TIFF/TIF, PNG, BMP, GIF, etc.

Video: MP4, M4V, 3GP, 3G2, WMV, MKV, FLV, MPG, MPEG, etc.

Audio: MP3, WAV, WMA, MID/MIDI, RealAudio,  AAC, etc.

Document: DOC/DOCX, XLS/XLSX, PPT/PPTX, PDF, CWK, HTML/HTM, INDD, EPS, etc.

Miscellaneous: ZIP, RAR, ISO, exe, html, etc.

Recovery is Available for Most Types of Data Loss

easeus-5

Depending on how you have lost the data and what was done after that, the success rate of any data recovery tool will vary, but EaseUS supports data recovery in 3 easy steps, from most common types of data loss, which include the following.

·        Data lost due to formatting, crash, partitioning or hardware failure

·        Data deleted or lost due to malware related activities

·        Data lost through accidental deletion

As a pro tip, we would suggest stop using the device in question, right after the incident which resulted in the loss of data. The more you use the storage device, the higher are the chances of the deleted data being overwritten and lost forever. If you are a professional, we suggest getting the EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard Technician license, to service as many devices as you need to.

New Features

A number of new features have been added to the software, alongside multiple improvements in the stability and efficacy of the recovery tool. Among them, the following are the highlights.

·        Better searching and filtering options for precise recovery

·        Scans find the files much faster than before

·        Better preview feature

·        Better retention of original file names and directory structures in recovered data

Is EaseUS Worth Your Money?

easeus-6

Well, the short answer to that would be yes, but given that download free data recovery software from them and try it out yourself, it's not even a valid question really! If you like the features as much as we did after trying it out, you can pay for the full version, which comes with 24-hour customer support and a 30-day money back guarantee.

folx

Have you ever try to download large files from the internet and get stuck with the never-ending download process?

I know. All of us have been there. The best way to download really large files is to do it with a download manager. It allows you to download any kind of file without getting worried about the slow internet or file size.

For windows, we all know that IDM is the best solution as a download manager. But unfortunately, there wasn't anything like that for the Mac operating system before the Folx. It's a great app and the best alternative solution to download heavy files from the internet as well as the best uTorrent alternative for Mac.

Folx is in fact, primarily two software packed as one. It can act as an internet download manager as well as your torrent client for daily use. The downloader allows you to download any file of any size from the internet whereas the torrent client lets you search for torrents directly from the Folx interface.

In-built torrent search is a premium feature that comes with the pro version only. That means you don't have to access or search through multiple torrent trackers to find exactly what you need. Just type the keyword in the Folx search bar and it will present you the results extracted from multiple trackers supported by Folx.

It's a powerful, easy-to-use, and free download manager fully optimized for the latest macOS Catalina. The current version of the Folx app is 5 and requires at least macOS 10.9 or later to use.

Folx offers a true Mac-style interface, highly optimized for Retina display. Despite being free, it offers some heavy professional features of premium software. Folx is developed by Eltima Software, a global software development company, specializing in mobile and desktop software for Mac OS, Windows, Linux, and Android operating systems since the year 2000.

Folx has a sleek and very comprehensive design that remains easy to navigate despite being a full-featured software. Folx splits downloads into simultaneous threads to speed up the download process. It auto-resumes downloading in case the internet connection was broken and allows you to add new download tasks in several ways.

With the pro version, each download can split in up to 20 threads that make the whole file downloading process much faster. The overall downloading speed depends on your internet bandwidth as well.

With Folx you can tag your store downloaded files. The downloaded files are saved into folders according to the tags you have assigned. You can assign multiple tags to each download that makes it easier for you to identify the file in the future. As being a download manager, it allows you to manage your download files based on bandwidth allocation, priority, etc.

Folx is fully compatible with popular browsers like Safar, Firefox, Opera, and Chrome. You can configure Fox to catch download links in these browsers or you can install a special Folx extension that allows Folx integration into your browser's context menu. Once you have installed the extension, there will be new menus available to you - "Download with Folx", "Download All with Folx", and "Download Selected with Folx".

Folx understands the importance of security and privacy and therefor uses a proxy server that lies between your Mac and the internet. It offers other advantages like bandwidth saving for large networks or control of internet usage. You may also configure some proxy settings like proxy type, server name, etc.

Why you should buy the Folx Pro?

There is no restriction or limit on the number of downloads you can do with the free version. You can download and use the free version of Folx forever. However, if you need more advanced stuff like multi-threading, much faster downloading, music integration, smart speed adjustment, etc, you need to pay a very minimal price for the license.

The pro version comes with several premium features like multi-threading downloading, speed adjustment, creating an Apple Music playlist, etc. You can also download and save the videos being hosted on Youtube in video or mp3 format with the pro version.

With the pro version, you don't have to remember passwords for different websites and FTP servers. Folx pro offers a built-in password manager to safely store your password so you don't need to enter login credentials every time you are downloading from the website.

The fee comes in two variants - personal license ($19.95) and family pack ($39.95). You can get lifetime upgrades for just $9.95 and urgent support plan, in case you need it, for $15 per year.

Finally Xiaomi revealed the Mi 5 at the MWC 2016 event held in Barcelona after close to two years of development. galaxy-s10-plus-best-display

Samsung's Galaxy S series of smartphones have always sported great Super AMOLED panels, but from the Galaxy S8 onwards, they have consistently sported the best mobile displays every year. Staying true to the tradition, Samsung has apparently taken the crown once again with the Galaxy S10's display in 2019 as well.

DisplayMate has published the findings of its testing with the S10's display and the results are quite astounding really.

The display sports "Absolute Color Accuracy at 0.4 JNCD," which means that the colors on screen cannot be differentiated from the colors on the real thing by the human eye.  Try some of the most realistic slots online and you won't spot a difference.

OLED displays have always been the comparatively dimmer ones, when compared to quality LCD displays, but Samsung has once again managed to get a 17% hike in peak full screen brightness levels, taking the nit count as high as 804 nits, which is just astounding for an OLED display in particular.

Considering the color accuracy, the wide color gamut and the superb brightness levels, it is not really a surprise that DisplayMate has given the Galaxy S10's display an A+ rating and states that it did not lack in any department during the test.

The S10 Gets Support for HDR on Netflix

If you have already ordered or planning to order the Galaxy S10, S10e or S10+, we have even more good news for you. You will be able to make full use of that QHD+ Super AMOLED display with brilliant colors and high brightness levels by streaming HDR content directly from Netflix on it. Given how important high brightness, a wide color gamut and native contrast ratios are for displaying true HDR, it's actually great news.

Just when we thought phones were reaching tablet category with 5.5-inch screen size, bezel-less smartphones from Xiaomi and Samsung pushed the boundary much further than it was ever thought to be feasible without sacrificing portability and usability. However, reports are now indicating that the upcoming Taimen could even dwarf the likes of the Mi Mix and the Galaxy S8.

Leaked on Geekbench, the Taimen will sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip and 4GB of RAM, with Android O running out of the box. However the intriguing aspect of the smartphone which you see in this article (possibly) is the name itself. Google has always used fish names (go figure!) to code name its devices and the size of the actual fish in real life always had some sort of a connection to the actual size of the phones. What this basically means is the bigger the fish, the larger the phone and the Taimen is a lot bigger than the Marlin (Pixel XL 5.4-inch). The original report by Forbes suggests that it could also be a tablet but maintains that it is most likely not as Google has traditionally used Nvidia Tegra chips for its tablets.

Sony Xperia Z4

Sony skipped the MWC 2015 and didn't announce any new device, many of its fans are getting impatient to see the Xperia Z4. So far, all we got is rumors and nothing is confirmed. The Japanese tech giant is definitely taking its time with it's 2015 flagship.

Today brings a new leak, which allegedly reveals the sony Xperia Z4 dimensions 146.3 x 71.9 x 7.2mm, which is almost identical to the Xperia Z3, which measures 146 x 72 x 7.3 mm. Its display should be 5.2-inches, so the body doesn't really need to be bigger.

The Xperia Z4 rumored to pack a Snapdragon 810 chipset and Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, along with 3GB of RAM and an Adreno 430 GPU. It has been suggested that Sony will launch the Xperia Z4 in both 1080p and QHD versions.

moto edge

Mobile technology just keeps getting better and better every day. Motorola, the company owned by Lenovo had finally unveiled the much-hyped Moto Edge and Moto Edge Plus. For a few years, the company had been focusing on mid-range and budget-friendly smartphones. The last true flagship from the company was the first generation Moto Z that was launched the way in 2016. Since then, they decided to focus on budget-conscious users. And rather than competition with big giants like Samsung or Huawei, it decided to take baby steps towards re-establishing its brand. The Moto Edge+ simply puts an end to that trend and marks the return of Motorola smartphones in the premium category. The Moto Edge+ offers some top-of-the-line hardware specifications to compete with any big name in the market right now.

The phone's high performance speaks for itself. As it is powered by a very fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC processor. The phone features a powerful triple camera array consisting of 108MP main camera lens, 8MP telephoto lens, and 16MP ultra-wide sensor. Although the camera hardware is impressive as it is, it turns out that the real power of the device lies in several software-based features that further enhance the photography experience of the user.

But the biggest selling point or should we say, the only thing that differentiates it from other premium phones is its video enhancement solution, developed by a Swedish company. As per the official sources, the Motorola has collaborated with Imint, to integrate their video stabilization solution on the Motorola Edge plus. This will enable video makers, vloggers to shoot high-quality videos right from their smartphones.

The Vidhance video stabilization technology works with active optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS) to reduce the unwanted shakiness, and motion blur due to sudden movements and shakes. The company claims that the Motorola Edge plus can shoot amazing videos with greater stability even in low-light situations. Vidhance dynamic blur reduction technology helps to minimize the motion blur caused by low shutter speed and abrupt movements.
