After long time of waiting, Mo Versi, VP of Product Management at HTC America announced that T-Mobile's HTC One M7 will get the official Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update on March,10th. The company has already updated its One M8 devices on most regions.

 

 

 

 

Mo Versi shared on Twitter that the Lollipop build has got the technical approval. The update will certainly package all the major Lollipop goodies such as refreshed recent apps menu, notifications and system wide tweaks.

Better Late than Never... Verizon's HTC One (M8) users has just received their official Android 5.0.1 Lollipop Update, it's still Sense 6 UI but packs a lot of performance improvements to the device. Sprint and T-mobile already got their update.

 

The update is available over-the-air. It brings a host of improvements to the HTC One (M8) headed by brand new ART runtime and Material Design update for the device's native applications.

HTC announced the One M9 with Sense 7.0 UI on top of Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. Well, the Taiwanese company didn't forget the last year's amazing flagship One M8 and confirmed during it's MWC 2015 event the Sense 7 UI update is coming to M8 users.

The Update will pack all the software features that are currently on the HTC One M9 to the One M8. Users should expect Sense 7 to come with Lollipop 5.0.2 update, we don't have an exact date yet but according to our sources it will come during Q2,2015.

HTC is still publishing it's main OEM system Apps on the Play store for easier updates regardless of firmware versions, operator approval. Today, HTC just published it's Video Player App for HTC Sense. The App is available to a selected HTC devices.

This is the same video player that's built inside HTC's Sense UI layer, with multiple format decoding, gesture controls (two-finger swipes act as FF and RW for example), streaming, still image capturing, and subtitle support. The player also allows a few simple editing tweaks like trimming and playback speed adjustment for slow-motion videos.

According to some rumors, HTC is working on its first wearables Smartwatch which will allegedly be called "Petra" and WILL NOT be an Android Wear powered device. Instead it will run a simple custom OS that supports Android 4.4+ and iOS 7+.

 

The HTC Petra sounds like a sporty smart band with IP57 and MIL-STD-810G certifications and an included footpad for more accurate step counting. The wearable will communicate with smartphones over Bluetooth though it should have its own GPS receiver. The screen will be a flexible 1.8" PMOLED with 160 x 32 resolution.
