It wasn't too long ago that Samsung had actually stopped producing Windows laptops altogether, but they have recently entered the market to try out their luck once again. While the Odyssey Z isn't the first laptop from since Samsung decided to re-enter the industry, it is the company's first gaming laptop nonetheless.

The Odessey Z looks quite sleek and packs in decent hardware as well, albeit nothing exceptional. What Samsung is highlighting is the company's custom cooling system that comprises of the Dynamic Spread Vapor Chamber, Z AeroFlow Cooling Design, and a Z Blade Blower. The manufacturer guarantees that this cooling system will keep the laptop icy even when the internals are pushed to their maximum. Speaking of internals, it is powered by an 8th-Gen Intel Core-i7 processor, GTX 1060 (6GB) GPU and up to 16GB of RAM. For more details about the laptop, check out the screenshot of the specs below. It would be interesting to see how Samsung prices the product, given that there's plenty of laptops there already with similar specifications.

Do you like the Always-On Display? Or do you keep it off to save battery? Whatever your answer is, you will have to admit that it's one of the better appeals of Samsung's AMOLED displays and higher-end smartphones, but it's about to get even better because the AOD will now support GIF images!

If you have a Galaxy S8/S8+/S9/S9+/Note 8 updated to the latest version, then this feature should be available to you right now. Go into the gallery and open a GIF. Now, touch the three dots to bring up the menu, where you should select "Set as Always on Display image" and you are done.

There are a few things that you should know about the feature though and they are as follows.

·         .webp format is not supported, although it is becoming the new standard

·         Only GIF images are supported as far as moving images on the AOD is concerned

·         You will see the animation only once per lock and unlock

Some reports are indicating that the Galaxy Note 9 might be released earlier than expected, but can you guess the proposed reason for that assumption? Well, apparently the Galaxy S9 and S9+ have not been as big a hit as Samsung expected the two of their latest flagship smartphones to be and this decision regarding the Note 9's expected early release has been presumably taken in accordance with the somewhat disappointing sales numbers. The report comes in out of South Korea, so there might be some credence to it, although, we are not totally sure at this moment.

Whether or not this is true is something that cannot be ascertained as of now, but there's no denying that a lot of the S8 owners don't feel the need to upgrade this year and that's understandable, given that the S9 and the S9+ look almost identical to their predecessors from the front. This report is backed up by two facts, with the first being that Samsung is about to start manufacturing the 6.38-inch AMOLED displays for the Note 9 in April, which is two months earlier than when they usually start the display production for their next Note phablet. Secondly, the Note 9's Android Oreo 8.1 powered firmware is also in development, which is also much earlier than their usual schedule. What do you think?

Before you start getting excited, let us tell you upfront that we don't have any pictures to show you today unfortunately (except concepts). However, what we do have is a spec sheet, courtesy of Geekbench. It's still too early for leaked pictures, but this one is a pretty big leak as well, given that it shows us quite a few details about the upcoming Note 9's internals and performance. Do check out the specs in the above screenshot.

There doesn't seem to be anything that isn't expected though. Some people are still hopeful that the Note 9 will be Samsung's first phone with an in-display fingerprint scanner, but that's doubtful at best. Besides, if you really think about it, is that really a big deal? I mean apart from the gimmick factor, what great advantage will be brought on by the in-display fingerprint scanner after all? What do you think? Let us know in the comments.

If you thought that tablets are way too flimsy, Samsung has just released the Galaxy Tab Active 2 which can take a hit and then some! Exclusive to the US, the device is internally the same as any other Galaxy Tab 2, but on the outside, it's quite literally a beast. The MIL-STD 810 certification guarantees that the Galaxy Tab Active 2 can survive through high pressure, extreme temperatures (hot or cold), rapid vibrations and even drops from heights that would shatter other lesser tablets. Additionally, it also sports a standard IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.

While we all would like our devices to be a bit sturdier than they generally are, this may seem a bit excessive to many, until they realize that Samsung has a specific crowd in mind for the Galaxy Tab Active 2. Apparently, this is tablet for employees who must work in the harshest of conditions. While targeted primarily at businesses, those that love camping, trekking and mountaineering might have use for the tab Active 2 as well.
