If you were planning to get a S8 or S8+ from Sprint, you will now have one more reason to do so. If you pre-order either of the two devices from Sprint, Samsung will throw in an e-gift certificate worth $100 with the package. The certificate can however, only be used to buy or get a discount from the Samsung website.

If you choose any other carrier, there are some pretty good deals going on there as well and it mainly includes a gift offer. The gift offer translates to the buyer getting a 256GB MMC card, an Oculus content box and a Gear VR with controller/AKG headphones by paying only $99 extra. Granted it's not a bad deal, but we could be seeing better ones in the future.

Which offer appeals to you more? The gift bundle for an extra 100 bucks or the $100 e-certificate? Let us know in the comments.

In a Chinese court, Samsung has recently been fined for copyright infringement against Huawei's intellectual property. The major patent battle was initiated when the Chinese company sued Samsung by claiming that more than twenty of Samsung's smartphones have violated Huawei's patented graphical arrangement systems. If you are wondering what that means, it basically means that Huawei had exclusive rights to a certain pattern of icon arrangement systems and similar things, but Samsung allegedly used the same techniques in some of their own smartphones, thereby violating the patent. The fine or compensation stands at 80 million yuan/11.6 million USD, which Samsung will now have to pay Huawei as per the decision of the court.

In response to the decision, Samsung had this to say, "We will thoroughly review the court's decision and determine appropriate responses."
Huawei on the other hand was naturally pleased with the court's decision and mentioned that the company "notes the court's decision in this case."

A spokesperson for the Chinese smartphone manufacturer further added the following lines,

"Huawei believes that respecting and protecting the intellectual property of others enables all companies to make a return on our R&D investments."

"We maintain that respect for intellectual property promotes innovation and healthy, sustained growth in the industry."

According to a leaked image produced by GizmoChina, you could be looking at the Galaxy Note 8 right now! We admit that it is still too early for live images but here it is nonetheless. That being said, it is more than likely to be a fake than the real thing. I mean the Galaxy S8 and the S8+ isn't even out officially and Samsung already has an assembled prototype of the Galaxy Note 8? That does sound a bit farfetched.

It is quite possible that we are looking at the Galaxy S8+ with simply an S-pen kept beside it to make it seem like the Note 8, but the phone seems a bit more squarish, as well as wider than the S8+ though. Then again, in this age of photo editing software, that is not saying much to begin with! Also, note that the design looks quite similar to the first leaked render that we looked at in details yesterday. If it is the Galaxy Note 8 by some very off chance, then let's just hope that it has the dual camera setup which the S8+ was supposed to and a better place for the fingerprint scanner.

If you are eager to see the Galaxy Note 7 being re-launched then we have good news for you. New images of the Galaxy Note 7 "refurbished edition" has been leaked online. However, the sad news is that in order to make it a safer and less explosive device, Samsung has not only changed the battery line-up, but the batteries themselves as well. While that should be good news, it really isn't because the refurbished Note 7 will now reportedly, sport a smaller 3,200mAh cell instead of the original's 3,500mAh cell.

As the pictures came in from a Vietnamese fan site, it seems that the rumors about the Note 7 being introduced in the country may not be just a rumor after all. Rumor also had it that India would also be getting the refurbished Note 7, but a Samsung employee has mentioned that it won't. Even if it is re-introduced in certain nations, it may not actually go on sale, but could only be available as a rental phone. We will have to wait to find out more. In the meanwhile, check out the images to see all that they reveal.
