Solis stands for Sun in Spanish and that's what Samsung has decided to name its next smartwatch. SamMobile reported the news along with suggesting that the term "Solis" probably indicates that this one will be round like the sun! The Korean OEM is aiming for a more typical and traditional watch-esque look with the Solis than the rectangular devices that we are now used to seeing from manufacturers all over.
Going by the fact that this will be the successor to the Gear S2, Solis will possibly sport better hardware than its predecessor, but the specifics are unclear right now. According to the report, there will be three general variants of the smartwatch with the model numbers SM-R760, SM-R765 and SM-R770. However, there will also be two carrier specific variants; namely the SM-765V and the SM-765S.
The big news about the Solis range of smartwatches is the fact these will not run on any version of the Android OS. Instead, they will be using Samsung's own home-grown Tizen OS to run things. It is also expected that they will feature a larger display than the tiny 1.2-inch one we saw with the Gear S2. If you are excited about the Solis, did it disappoint you to know that it will ruin on Tizen? We ourselves will reserve that judgement till we manage to get a closer look at one.

Samsung is about to begin mass production of the Galaxy Note 7 and we are not yet sure whether there will just be an Edge variant or a regular flat variant will be made available as well. After the recent leak which showed a Samsung teaser before its release we can be sure about two things. Firstly, the next Note will indeed be called the Note 7 instead of Note 6, and secondly, there will be an Edge variant for sure. If you are in any doubt, check the image below to find the number "7" hidden in the picture and also read the accompanying text, "write on the edge of something great."
The latest news however, suggests that Samsung is also working on a version of the Note 7 that will sport a more regular, flat display. We came to this conclusion after finding out that the model number SM-N930F has been seen on the Samsung website. Considering that the Note 5 had the model number SM-N920, N930 is without a doubt, the upcoming Note 7's model number. Since all previous leaks and rumors had pointed out that the Note 7 Edge will sport the model number SM-N935G, the conclusion was obvious.
There are also contrasting rumors and theories all around; one such theory predicts that there will be just one variant of the next Note in 2016 to keep things clean and simple. However, the latest listing on Samsung's own website seems to contradict that theory. We will soon find out more in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more on the Samsung Galaxy Note 7/Note 7 Edge.

A new type of LED notification system will be featured in the upcoming Galaxy J2 (2016) as per reports. In fact, we may begin to see this feature embedded in all future Samsung smartphones soon enough. The news was shared by GalaxyClub.nl after they found the feature mentioned in the upcoming J2's leaked manual.
The hardware of the Smart Glow feature is a pretty simplistic LED ring that's capable of flashing in various colors. As you can see in the image, the ring will be encompassing the rear camera module of the phone. Now, the usefulness of the LED ring lies in its functionalities and here are the ones we know about at this time.
1. You will be able to set specific colors for specific contacts, so when a notification arrives, you will know who it is from, even without turning the phone around and from a distance.
2. It will indicate low battery like regular LED notifiers do.
3. The Smart Glow will enable the user to take efficient selfies with its rear camera as well, because it will emit a blue light as soon as the subject's face is within the sensor's viewfinder.
Personally, we like the last one the most and users will probably find it to be the most useful as well.

A new report straight out of South Korea has indicated that Samsung will start pushing the mass production process for the Galaxy Note 7 in the next month. The target number for Samsung in July as well as August is 2.5 million, as per the report. So in theory, Samsung should have at least 5 million Galaxy Note 7 units ready to reach their consumers after it is released in late August or early September. Do not get confused though, the Note 7 will be unveiled on the 2nd of August as expected, but it usually takes a while before they are ready to ship the products for sale.
Early release has been part of Samsung's strategy this year and it has paid off well for the South Korean OEM. They did the same with the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, which saw amazing success and are still among the most sold flagship phones right now. In fact, Samsung had started with this strategy last year, when it launched the Note 5 in August, prior to the expected date in September, as that was when the Note 4 was released in 2014. The iPhone 7 is all set to be released in September and this might just be one of the reasons as to why Samsung is going to try and capture the market earlier than others.
