OnePlus is ready to release its next smartphone OnePlus Z that falls under the upper mid-range category. It could be a flagship killing phone with high-end features without getting the user ripped. Recently, the OnePlus 8 Pro was released, but it is slightly more expensive than regular OnePlus phones as it is priced at $899. So far the company manages to keep the prices of their smartphones at the lower cap while providing some premium features.
Initially, there were rumors about OnePlus 8 lite, and the name did make some sense. But on April 14, the OnePlus 8 series was introduced without any lite variant of the phone. In late March, phone tipster Max Weinbach tweeted that OnePlus would adopt a new name for its budget phone; the OnePlus Z. In the past, the company sold a lower-cost variant of its flagship phone after branding it as OnePlus X. The OnePlus Z might be the next phone according to the tradition of the company.
Another leak suggests from the Max J on Twitter, OnePlus Z might be launched in July 2020. He also tweeted an image along with the release date leak. It is unclear if that image is coming from OnePlus itself or some graphic designer created this image according to the leaks available so far, but we may expect that the device might debut later in the year. There might be some delay in the launch of the phone, as many other phones got delayed, due to the coronavirus situation.
Earlier leaks suggest that the OnePlus 8 lite will be around $499, but we don't know if this is the price for OnePlus Z as well. The same online store that leaked about its earlier prices, called Giztop has shown off some specs and prices for OnePlus' upcoming phones. There might be a paid difference of $50 to $100 between the OnePlus Z and the OnePlus 8 if the earlier one needs to be a budget-friendly variant. Rumors suggest that the phone will feature a 6.4-inch display, with front-camera on the top. The phone will use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 765G system-on-a-chip. That's a mid-range processor that features a faster clock speed for the chipset's main core, plus more graphics improvements. The phone will have a 4,000mAh battery with wired charging.

Samsung detailed the UK availability of the long-awaited exclusive color options of the Galaxy S6 lineup. Both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge are currently available worldwide in White Pearl, Black Sapphire and Gold Platinum.
But both were promised an exclusive paintjob since the official announcement Blue Topaz for the Galaxy S6 and Green Emerald for the S6 edge. Samsung officially launched the special flavored editions on May 18, but those come in limited stock and availability.
Today Samsung detailed the UK release of those two exclusive colors both will be available for purchase on July 1. UK users will be able to get the Green Emerald Galaxy S6 edge from all major retailers and carriers, but the Blue Topaz Galaxy S6 will be available exclusively through Samsung Experience Stores and Carphone Warehouse.

HTC users are eagerly waiting for their Lollipop 5.1.1 Update, especially the HTC One M9 owners who bought the company's latest expensive flagship.
Luckily, HTC's VP Mo Versi shared on Twitter today that the official Android 5.1 Lollipop Update is coming to HTC One M9 starting with Sprint's variant.
HTC One (M9) Sprint Owners! We have received technical approval on Lollipop OS 5.1 which includes camera improvements. OTA to start on 7/1!
— Mo Versi (@moversi) June 29, 2015
The Lollipop 5.1.1 OTA update will bring better RAM management, some improvements to the camera, performance improvements along with various bug fixes and stability improvements to Sense 7.

A new report straight out of South Korea has indicated that Samsung will start pushing the mass production process for the Galaxy Note 7 in the next month. The target number for Samsung in July as well as August is 2.5 million, as per the report. So in theory, Samsung should have at least 5 million Galaxy Note 7 units ready to reach their consumers after it is released in late August or early September. Do not get confused though, the Note 7 will be unveiled on the 2nd of August as expected, but it usually takes a while before they are ready to ship the products for sale.
Early release has been part of Samsung's strategy this year and it has paid off well for the South Korean OEM. They did the same with the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, which saw amazing success and are still among the most sold flagship phones right now. In fact, Samsung had started with this strategy last year, when it launched the Note 5 in August, prior to the expected date in September, as that was when the Note 4 was released in 2014. The iPhone 7 is all set to be released in September and this might just be one of the reasons as to why Samsung is going to try and capture the market earlier than others.

We have reported before that Samsung is launching a new Grand Prime Value Edition device with Android 5.1 Lollipop Pre-installed. Sprint is launching this VE device this friday July,10th.
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime features a 5-inch screen with a 540 x 960 qHD resolution. That works out to a pixel density of 220ppi. The 64-bit Snapdragon 410 SoC under the hood contains a quad-core 1.2GHz CPU and the Adreno 306 GPU. 1GB of RAM is inside along with 8GB of internal storage. Those requiring additional memory can access the 128GB capacity microSD slot. The back and front camera combo weighs in at 8MP/5MP, and the lights are kept on by a 2600mAh battery, Android 5.1.1 is pre-installed.
The phone comes with the Ultra Power Saving Mode. With 10% of the handset's battery life remaining, the feature closes down unnecessary apps and gives you an extra 24 hours to make/take phone calls and send/receive text messages.

According to famous Korean news source ET News, the Galaxy Note 7 FE will officially be launched in South Korea on July 7. We knew that it's coming but now we have a date to look forward to. Although I did say "a date to look forward to," the smartphones will most likely not see the light of day in the US or Europe. Interestingly enough, various reports from around the internet are also indicating the the refurbished phones will be packing Samsung's Bixby digital assistant.
Previous reports had suggested that the Note FE would be released by the end of June, but those plans changed once Samsung decided to change up their production numbers by quite a bit. Instead of the 150,000 units which were going to be sold in the country, they have now decided that 450,000 Note 7 FEs will be introduced in South Korea. This move is clearly a result of Samsung sensing a bigger market for the refurbished smartphones than they had anticipated earlier. The Note FE will be exclusive to three South Korean carriers for now and Samsung has not yet revealed any plans of bringing the handsets outside of South Korea till now.

LG is pushing the boundaries of flexible OLED Displays technology due to the market's ever-increasing push towards curved display technology. Naturally smartphones are among the first adopters and LG is at the forefront of innovation when it comes to curved technology. After the LG G Flex 2 was unveiled at CES 2015 in became abundantly clear that the Korean manufacturer intends to further develop bendable display technology and is investing in its future.
And while the P-OLED panel in the G Flex 2 is mighty impressive, LG will not be stopping there and a new reports hint toward ongoing development of a truly flexible screen and even early units already available. This is achieved by a whole new plastic OLED technology that LG claims is better than current curved screens in every possible way.
The way LG Chem plans to revolutionize bending displays is through a new manufacturing technology. The current generation bendable OLED panels, like the one inside the G Flex 2 feature a thin glass substrate. This allows for a certain level of flexibility, but limits the bending angle to 75mm. Next generation displays will be created using plastic for a more than double decrease in the bending radios, set at about 30mm. What this means in plain terms is that the new panel can be bent in a lot points, which can be as little as 30mm apart.
The highly-bendable P-OLED units have 75lm brightness, 60lm/W efficiency, 3,000k color temperature and CRI over 85, which is adequate by today's standards. LG has announced that panels are already available for testing and engineering purposes and can be purchased for $450. Mass production is set for July 2015, which is not that far away.

Sony unveiled its premium smartphone Xperia 1 at the MWC event held in February 2019. However, the launch was only for a few selected markets. Recently, rumors started to surface about the Sony Xperia 2 smartphone and also a mystery Xperia smartphone with no name - and six rear cameras. Now, the latest rumor is about the launch of a new smartphone in the same series as Xerpria 1. The new phone may be launched in Japan on July 9th. The leaked images reveal the triple back camera on the top left corner of the phone.
Above the rear camera setup, we can see the flash light and laser autofocus. Just like its predecessor, the phone may come up with a glass body. It will have the primary microphone at the bottom side of Xperia 1s with additional two more microphones. Apart from the rumors about its design and launch date, we don't have much information but it seem that it would something similar to Xperia 1. The Xperia 1 came with a 6.5-inch OLED display with 4k (3840 x 1644 pixels) resolution, HDR10 playback support, and 21:9 aspect ratio.
Based on the rumors, Xperia 1s is the budget variant of the premium Xperia 1 and could launch with a cheaper LCD display. However, the aspect ratio and the size of the display may not changed. Talking about the specifications of the Xperia 1, the devices comes powered by the 7nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform coupled with 6GB of primary camera with f/1.6 aperture, a 12MP ultra-wide angle camera with f/2.4 aperture, and 12MP telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture. The device features an 8MP front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 84-degree wide-angel lens for selfies. The handset comes with Android 9.0 Piet out of the box with the custom Xperia UI laid on the top. There is no support for 3.5mm audio jack for standard earphones or headphones. Unlike the other premium flagship smartphones, the Xperia 1 comes with a fingerprint scanner being placed on the side.

Samsung has usually unveiled the new Galaxy Note devices at the IFA trade show during the autumn season but it has become quite a practice for rumor mongers to spread the word that this year the device will be available sooner. This speculation is repeated at the beginning of every year when the new Galaxy S variants are speculated to reach public early and then after couple of months same goes for the next Galaxy Note device. Exactly the same thing is happening in case of the prediction coming out of Korea - "the Galaxy Note 6 will be in the market around July of this year along with Android N OS".
Android N is supposed to be the next important update for Google's open-source mobile OS and although a developer edition has been rolled out, the update doesn't have an official stamp till now. Google has already informed that device makers will get access to Android N this summer so the Korean giant will need to work super fast to get the firmware's support for the Galaxy Note 6. This is crucial for Samsung, if they are interested in releasing the flagship device with the latest Android flavor. Taking into consideration Samsung's slowness with respect to updates, this seems farfetched.
