In an age and time when even premium flagship phones lose the eligibility for technical support after two years and lesser phones are forgotten much sooner, we have excellent news for you today. We knew that the Galaxy A (2016)-series was going to get the Nougat update from Samsung in 2017, but as it turns out, even the original Galaxy A-series isn't out of Samsung's support yet; at least not the A5 anyway.

In an official confirmation, Australian carrier Optus has stated that a Nougat build for the original Galaxy A5 is at its testing stage. They further elaborated that an OTA update which will deliver the final build to the A5 original should roll out by the end of next month. Considering that the Galaxy A5 has already received two major upgrades in the form of Lollipop and Marshmallow, the fact that it will receive Nougat is something that almost sounds too good to be true. If you are wondering if the same will be applicable to the Galaxy A5 handsets in other regions as well, I guess that's something which we will just have to wait and find out.

It isn't very often that Apple finds itself on the receiving end of a lawsuit as it is usually they who are suing other OEMs. However, in a somewhat rare turn of events, Apple was sued earlier by the existing division of Nokia Corp. over patent infringements in Asia, Europe and the US. Although most people think that "Nokia" got sold off to Microsoft, the truth is that the Finnish company had only sold off its telecommunications business to the Windows giant in 2014 and not the entire company.

According to an official statement by Nokia on December 21, Apple has infringed on 40 of its patents, stretched over 11 countries all around the world. All of the infringements have been noted, and filed against the Cupertino giant in courts of both Germany and the United States. To top it off, Nokia has even highlighted the fact that Apple declined the company's offer to legally license a number of its patents concerned with Nokia's inventions and introductions to the industry. It would be interesting to see how Apple reacts to the lawsuits.

Looking for a phone upgrade? Not satisfied with the mobile releases of 2016? Well, that's not a problem as 2017 will be promising in terms of new mobile releases! Only a few more days or months to wait, until the mobile beasts of 2017 are revealed. Let's see what 2017 has in reserve for us.

Once you go apple, you never go back! Apple will be back with the IPhone 8 in 2017, to celebrate its 10th anniversary impressively. Planned to be on the market in September 2017, IPhone 8 and IPhone 8 Plus, could be the most fundamental up to date phones. Apple will be making changes to the phones' designs and the software. In terms of design, the IPhone 8 is planned to be a single sheet of glass with an edge-to-edge OLED screen. Also, it would seem that at least one release of Apple's IPhones for 2017, will have a glass body. The Touch ID will be hidden within the glass, and the Home Button will be non-existent.

HTC lovers will not be disappointed as well! HTC is planning to release the HTC 11 in March/April 2017. An early leak confirmed that the mobile might have a Snapdragon 835 processor, RAM of 8 GB, a storage capacity of 256 GB and a 5.5in Quad- HD Screen. That is indeed lots of expectation... Let's hope that rumours have it right!

As for LG, it is rumoured that the G6 will be released in late 2017, and it could adopt a glass rear and front. The most interesting features it can have is an iris scanner that uses a similar sensor as the phone's front camera, which will be awesome.

Samsung will be back stronger in 2017, to mend its reputation after the Galaxy Note 7 crisis. The Samsung Galaxy s8 has been scheduled to be shown to the world in February 2017 during the MCW tradeshow. Rumours has it that the design will be changed, and the home button might be gone. It could as well be the fastest phone with a top of the range processor.

We knew that the Galaxy J7 (2017) was coming and now we have pre-release renders and even a video to look at. This leak comes to you via the courtesy of @OnLeaks and 91Mobiles. They say that a picture speaks a thousand words, so take a look and see what you think.

We can spot that the 3.5mm jack has been retained, along with the dated micro-USB port. What seems to be the speaker grill can also be seen at the side, right on top of the Power button. The back has an interesting strip of what looks to be metal, which encompasses both the LED flash and the camera module completely within it. Other details are pretty standard with the traditional Samsung Home button, volume rockers on the side, and a primary microphone at the bottom.

Here's a list of what you cannot see in the video or the rendered images, but rumors and leaks are suggesting about the Galaxy J7 (2017).

Model number: SM-J727V
51.34 x 76.20 x 8 mm
5.5-inch full HD Super AMOLED display

Rear and front camera: 13MP & 5MP

No we are not joking and this isn't a self-assigned term either as Samsung has actually applied recently for patenting the exact phrase, "Beast Mode." The application for having the name as their licensed copyright material was filed in the European Union. If you have any doubt as to where Samsung is going to use it, be informed that they plan to use it for naming something that's related to a future version of Samsung's smartphone UI. This is what has led us and many others to believe that the S8 may have an option called Beast Mode.

Although the trademark doesn't explain how Samsung plans to use it, it doesn't take a genius to guess that it will perhaps be an enhanced version of the Performance Mode already used by plenty of smartphone User Interfaces to increase the raw processing power of the device for better results in benchmarks and 3D games. Some are speculating that the Beast Mode may also have something to do with VR. We will find out more before the Galaxy S8 is made official in April.
