Huawei has started rolling out a new EMUI update for its new flagship P30 and P30 Pro smartphones, which adds a night mode feature for the 32MP selfie camera. The update is currently being rolled out only to the Chinese variants of the two smartphones. According to GizmoChina, the feature is referred to as "super night mode" which enables users to capture high-quality images even in low-light conditions. So far, there are no official photos that describe the quality of the camera. So we need to see how long we have to wait just to wait how effective the new feature is.

We don't know how this super night works or how it is different than the usual night mode photography. It is not similar to the night mode feature which is already available for the rear side cameras on both handsets. The existing night mode in the devices has long-exposure which combines several images into one image to create a brighter image with lower noise. The update is called version 9.1.0.193, and it also has packed August security patch and a few other changes. These include optimizations for the in-display fingerprint sensor, activation of VoLTE calling for China Telecom subscribers, and a new video editing feature for the default Gallery app.

Since the update is for the Chinese market only, it may take some time for the super night mode to reach to other users in other regions. Huawei has confirmed that a beta for the P30 will be coming on September 8, and along with the P30, Huawei shared a list of devices slated to receive the EMUI 10 update as well.

dr-fone-switch-1

It doesn't matter whether you have an iPhone or the latest Android smartphone, dr.fone - Switch makes it super easy for users to switch data in between devices. To know more about why everyone is calling it the one-stop solution for transferring information from one device to the other, just go through some of its features as we discuss them next.

Compatible with Both Mac OS and Windows 10

The dr.fone - Switch software can be downloaded and installed on both Apple Macs and Windows 10 PCs because it works with both operating systems flawlessly, making it easier for users to use them on any device of their choosing.

Works on both Android and iOS Devices

All versions of Android and up to iOS 12 is supported. dr.fone - Switch doesn't just work on Android smartphones and iPhones, but the transfer app works on Android tablets and iPads too.

Supports a Wide Range of Manufacturers

dr-fone-switch-2

Aside from the obvious Apple and Google devices, almost any device running on Android OS from manufacturers like Sony, HTC, Samsung, LG, Motorola, Huawei, Oppo and ZTE work without a hitch with dr.fone - Switch. In fact, this isn't even the complete list of manufacturers because if you have a smart device that runs on some version of the iOS or Android OS, dr.fone - Switch will probably be compatible with it.

Safety and Reliability

dr-fone-switch-3

Not even dr.fone gets to keep your data as you are the only one in control of it. The switching software only reads and transfers the data from one device to the other, while nothing is stored on the cloud. It also guarantees zero data loss as overwriting is not even an option until you actually want to delete anything while transferring the data.

You Can Transfer Data from an iOS Device to an Android Device Without a Computer

If you don't have access to a Mac or a PC right now, dr.fone - Switch also has an Android Switch application that you can install on your Android device to complete the transfer. It supports the transfer in the two following ways.

1.      You can log in to your iCloud account from the Android device with the help of the app, and download everything from contacts to media onto the smartphone/tablet.

2.      You will need an iOS-to-Android adapter for this one and once you use it to connect the two devices, the application can then be used to switch data from the iOS device to the Android device.

Check out the official dr.fone site to find a detailed, step-by-step guide on how to transfer contacts from iPhone to android.

With a PC/Mac You Can Switch Across All Devices

dr-fone-switch-4

As long as you have access to preferably a PC and alternately a Mac, you can expect the dr.fone - Switch to help you do the following transfers in just one-click and in between 5 - 30 minutes max (the larger the transfer, the closer it will be to the 30-minute mark)

·        Android to Android

·        Android to iOS

·        iOS to Android  (iPhone to Android transfer)

·        iOS to iOS

Almost All Major File Types are Supported

The list will vary a bit, depending on the OS of the two phones you are transferring data in between. For example, when you are transferring from Android to iOS, apps and voicemails won't be transferred alongside a few other file types, but the list of compatible files are much larger when the user is transferring from an iOS device to an Android device, or if it's a simple iOS to iOS transfer. The dr.fone website has a easy to follow, quick guide on how to transfer photos from iPhone to iPhone with the software's user interface.

Some of the common file types that you can expect dr.fone - Switch to successfully transfer across all devices include photos, videos, messages, contacts, call history, music, bookmarks, calendar data and voice memos.

dr.fone also has quite a wide and extensive collection of software suite that can handle any need that a smartphone might have, ranging from backup & recovery, to restoration of deleted files and securing your phone against external threats.

LCD vs. AMOLED

Samsung's been advocating the benefits of AMOLED displays for years, but it's doing it more frequently lately because it recently released its Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and Galaxy Tab S 8.4, the world's first high-res Super AMOLED tablets.

Without going into technical details, Samsung posted an infographic that shows why Super AMOLED screens are better than the LCD ones. Among the listed reasons you'll find a higher contrast ratio, wider viewing angles, and more accurate colors. Check the Infographic below.

Samsung sAMOLED

If there's something even the greatest critique of Samsung will admit, then that would be the fact that the Korean company simply makes the best display panels in the mobile industry. In fact its display department is so strong that it is literally making billions from the competition (read Apple) by selling them their OLED panels! In a recent news post by The Investor, Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi is about to become another OLED customer for Samsung Display. This doesn't really come as surprise given the monopoly that Samsung holds in the mobile OLED panel manufacturing industry.

If the report is true then the Xiaomi Mi 7 will feature a 6.01-inch OLED panel supplied by Samsung, but whether or not it will be a QHD display is something that is unclear at this time. The shipment order at the moment stands at 3.2 (1 million in the first month, followed by the rest in the next) million units approximately, which should start reaching Xiaomi's manufacturing units by December 2017 -January 2018. This agreement is reportedly a result of the deal between Xiaomi and LG for 5.49-inch OLED panels breaking due to operational delays on LG's part.

The myth of the Samsung foldable smartphone continues as the latest rumors and reports are pointing towards some additional info. Apparently, the Galaxy X, aka Samsung's first foldable smartphone is coming in 2019, but it will be expensive, very expensive! If you though that latest flagship smartphones touching the $1,000 mark was crazy, wait till the Galaxy X hits the market with a price tag close to 2 million won or $1900!

The 7.3-inch (rumored) foldable phone will either carry two or even three separate AMOLED displays which will lock together into one single device on opening, or there will be just one amazing, foldable display. Given the rumored prize tag though, it better be amazing! In any case, the price tag might just put off buyers because shelling out that kind of money for one smartphone is neither feasible nor intelligent for most users, but then again, you may never know! The phone could make an appearance at the CES 2019 first, but it will likely be a private showing and limited to the eyes of the investors and partners only.

Thanks to GeekCeption, we can now look at most of the beautiful animations embedded in Android N, before its official release. In fact, he films them all in slow motion, which makes them even cooler to look at. Everything you see is of course, based on the latest developer preview that Google released a while ago.

There are people who will try to convince you that these effects are unnecessary, but they are wrong. A user interface is all about the user experience and how the different animations look while performing various tasks on the phone is an integral part of that experience. There's a reason as to why the OEM companies put so much effort and money into the special effects and animations; it is because of the fact that without them, smartphones would just be boring pieces of technology that people use.

Apart from the tech bit, one simply cannot ignore the happiness and excitement that can be seen on the host's face throughout the video! You might start to smile a bit yourself as the infectious cheerfulness begins to catch on by the end of the video. Take a look now to see what we are talking about.

Super Mario Run is finally here on Android and available for download from the Play Store. The registrations had been open forever, although iOS users had been enjoying the game for months since it came out last year in December. Unfair as it may seem, we are just glad that it's finally available for us Android users.

In an unexpected turn of events, Nintendo has decided to release the game a day earlier than the original intended date. Personally, I liked the game and as far as experts are concerned, no one has given it a bad rating yet. What I really liked was the fact that Nintendo has done away with the concept of micro-transactions in this one by introducing a one time pay system like the old days. You get to download it and try it out for free, but if you want to get more of Mario action, then you will need to pay for the full game. Critics have hailed the $10 price tag to be a bit too steep for a mobile game, but if you ask me, I will take a $10 price tag over an "in-app purchase" scheme any day!
