Galaxy Note 5

We already heard rumors about the Galaxy Note 5 and got some leaked specs, like UHD display and 4GB Ram. According to new reports from Korea confirms Samsung's plans on the Galaxy Note 5 codenamed "Project Noble" like the Galaxy S6 was codenamed "Project Zero".

Galaxy Note 5

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 model number is (SM-N920F). However, details lack as to what to expect from the Galaxy Note 4 successor, but we're probably going to see the smartphone being rumored and leaked countless times over the next couple of months, and we'll keep an eye out for more details. Until new information becomes available, you can take another look at the current-generation Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

Galaxy S6 edge

Samsung faced lots of difficulties in the production process of its latest Galaxy S6 Edge which lead to the opening of another edge display factory ahead of schedule, a whole new factory dedicated to produce Curved displays for Samsung devices. The Korean giant is now looking to expand its Edge-screened range.

According to a report from the Korean media, Samsung is working on a New Edge device, which will be released before the the Galaxy Note Edge's successor, which also known as Note 5 Edge - Project Zen. So far it has been assumed that the sequel to the company's pioneering curved screen device is set to be announced this fall, alongside a vanilla Galaxy Note 5.

Edge

Project Zen is tipped to come with a dual-edge display around the 5.5-inch mark, S Pen and an inferior chipset. Then the inevitable question must be asked, if there will be enough room between it and the Galaxy S6 edge for yet another smartphone with such a screen.

Last year's Galaxy S6 featured a 16 megapixel camera sensor, so when the supposedly leaked image showed us that the Galaxy S7 has a 12.2 megapixel sensor, we became skeptical. Although some manufacturers like HTC have been using larger pixel size or "ultrapixels" to justify a lower megapixel count, it is unlikely that Samsung would follow the same path since the recently announced Samsung Britcell sensor actually has smaller pixels. The image also shows us that the front camera has a 5 megapixel sensor and that too, does not seem to us as something that the Korean electronics giant will put in the final version of their upcoming flagship device.

The leaked snap apparently reveals to us other specifications like a QHD 5.7 inch display, 4GB of RAM, a fingerprint sensor and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with an Adreno 530 GPU instead of the Exynos 8890 SoC. We believe the Quad High Definition 5.7 inch display is something that we can definitely see in the Galaxy S7. Even if there is just a 5.1 inch version at launch, we are pretty sure that Samsung will launch 5.7 inch editions eventually. The 4GB RAM is almost a certainty and so is the fingerprint scanner. In order to confirm our suspicions, we will have to wait till "Samsung Unpacked 2016," which will probably be held on 20th Feb, 2016 in Barcelona.

There was a time when the Moto RAZR V3 ruled the market and flip phones were hip, but fast forward to 2016 and the term "flip phone" is generally associated with a tang of nostalgia and may be some very cheap entry level phones. However, you would not think like that if you are in China though because Samsung has been making and selling high-end Android powered flip phones in the Chinese market for quite a while now. The latest edition of the series has been revealed via a leak on Weibo and it has the model number SM-W2017 according to the report.

The SM-2017, aka "Veyron," will succeed the SM-2016 while sporting flagship-grade specifications like a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, a 4.2-inch Super AMOLED display, 4GB RAM and 64 gigabytes of internal storage. There's a 12-megapixel camera at the back of the phone and a 5-megapixel selfie cam, which we suspect are the same ones seen on the S7 this year. The fingerprint scanner with a heart rate monitor isn't missing from the list either and the Veyron does support NFC and Samsung Pay. Although flip phone will most likely be exclusive to China only, would you buy one if one was available near you?

Evan Blass from @evleaks has leaked the model numbers of multiple upcoming Samsung smartphones on Twitter. In his exact words, "Samsung Galaxy S8 models are indeed skipping SM-G94* model numbers, will ship as SM-G950 & SM-G955. Know what else is in the works? SM-N950."

The phone with the model number SM-N950 is presumably the next Note device which Samsung had confirmed a just few weeks earlier, against reports that stated Samsung won't be releasing a Note in 2017. Interestingly enough, it seems that Samsung will be hopping straight from G930 for the S7 and G935 for the S7 Edge to G950 for the S8 and G955 for the S8 Edge in 2017, while skipping the chronological G94* serial number. It reminds us of Samsung's decision to skip the "6" in favour of "7" and how that panned out for the ill-fated Note 7!

Additionally, rumors are also suggesting that instead of there being a separate S8 and S8 Edge, Samsung will launch a 5.7-inch version and a 6.2-inch version, both with dual curved displays. In our opinion, a 6.2-inch display doesn't seem like something that Samsung would opt for in their premier flagship device as most people are not fond of gigantic phablets above the 6-inch category. In any case, the leaked model numbers should be useful for identification purposes as more leaks begin to pop up in the coming months.

Although previous rumors have been indicating that the Note 8 would have the codename "Baikal," a latest rumor apparently negates that name in favour of "Great." The news comes via the courtesy of SamMobile, although they have not revealed their sources. We must admit, codename "Great" sounds a bit too cheesy! Nevertheless, that's exactly what the latest rumor is predicting at this moment. Additionally, the model number of the upcoming "Great" Note was also confirmed to be SM-N950F, which is in consistence with what Evan Blass had leaked back in November 2016.

In other news, SamMobile also reports that against all odds, Samsung will indeed be re-launching the Galaxy Note 7 in South Korea, with a safe battery. The commercial name for the refurbished Note 7 will be "Grace R," where R stands for refurbished. The devices will most likely not make their way outside the home country and we are not sure if that's good news or bad news! Grace R will allegedly feature the model number SM-N935 and make use of some of the hardware left over from the defunct Note 7. Will you be buying a refurbished Note 7 if it was available near you?

If there's just one thing that has been consistent about rumors in relation to Samsung's upcoming foldable smartphone (which has been coming for years now!), then it's the fact that they have all been mostly wrong! Make no mistake, there have been enough evidence around to convince us that Samsung does indeed have a foldable smartphone in the pipelines, it's just that any news regarding its real world release have turned out to be wrong. The latest victim of this phenomenon was the rumor regarding the SM-G888N0 being the Galaxy X, aka the mythical foldable Samsung smartphone that's coming.

When the SM-G888N0 showed up on Bluetooth SIG and the National Radio Research Agency for certification purposes, almost everyone was convinced that this truly was the foldable phone that Samsung is prepping for release in 2018. As it turns out, the SM-G888N0 had nothing to do with foldable displays at all. The model in question is a tough new device that has apparently been built for South Korean train personnel. It's a part of the LTE-R network project that's about to launch in the country and the world for the first time. While that in itself is quite an interesting topic, you will have to wait longer to hear any new updates regarding the elusive Galaxy X...

Thanks to famous tech YouTuber MKBHD, we now have a video that shows the Galaxy S10 and S10+ in their full glory (well, as close to it as a model can show anyway!). The models in question are from one of the casemakers and is likely quite a dependable representation of the upcoming Galaxy S10 and S10+. Not that the reveal date is too far away at the moment mind you (February 25), but even then, these are always interesting to watch. We have included the video in the post, so do take a look at it yourself before deciding if the boxy phones are really what Samsung is going to unveil in little more than three weeks.

Samsung galaxy tab 18.4

Rumores around a gigantic Samsung tablet with 18.4-inch screen is circling around, its existence was the only thing revealed. Latest reports suggests that this tablet is real and set to launch before the end of this year.

The device is called Samsung Galaxy Tab 18.4 with model number (SM-T670), it's not clear yet what Galaxy Tab family this tablet will be included in (Galaxy Tab 5, Galaxy Tab S or Galaxy TabPRO). What we know so far that it will pack a 18.4-inch TFT LCD touch screen (not sAMOLED) with just 1080p resolution (which is only about 120ppi pixel density, very low). The tablet should also sport the Exynos 7580 SoC with a 1.6 GHz octa-core CPU, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of expandable storage, an 8MP rear camera, a 2.1 MP front-facing unit, and a 5700mAh battery.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 18.4 will launch with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box, and its dimensions are said to be 451.8 x 275.8 x 11.9 mm. There's currently no telling when we'll see it in stores, or how much it will cost. Though with that size we assume this will be targeted at some pretty niche use-cases.
