internet-security-1

The battle to secure the internet has been fought for many years. Cybersecurity has remained to be a big challenge for organizations ever since machines in offices go connected to the world wide web. In the early days of the internet, security threats were not as complicated as they are today. Problems facing companies only ranged from a few destructive virus threats to basic scamming attempts. With time though, technology has evolved rapidly and now companies have to deal with complicated cybersecurity threats. Ransomware, data theft, and network disruptions are just some of the threats that face organizations.

The evolution of cybersecurity threats has also prompted an evolution in defense mechanisms. Today, it is not uncommon to see companies that have a fully-fledged cybersecurity department. It is no longer possible to gamble with the security needs of any enterprise. Cybersecurity has thus moved on from being a small aspect of the organization to a core part of every company. There are many great things that have been achieved over the years in the cybersecurity realm, but the many challenges that persist as a result of a rapidly evolving tech realm are just too real to ignore. Jamie Cambell from GoBestVPN recently noted that while it is not possible to completely eliminate threats, it is possible to have better solutions in the market. Recent years have seen companies lose millions of dollars because of security vulnerabilities. Such big losses have prompted companies to think differently. New approaches are being explored in the area of tackling cyber threats.

Security is Now a Core Part of Every Organization

internet-security-2

As mentioned earlier, organizations are now taking the cybersecurity issues much more seriously. The security of company data is no longer an issue of the IT departments alone. Instead, it is an organization-wide affair which cuts across all levels of the institution. According to recent reports by Varonis, 41% of companies have been found to leave their data exposed to everyone. Such statistics indicate that the problem is not simply about attacks becoming more complicated. Instead, it is the approach that is taken by organizations that are contributing to vulnerability. Organizations are thus making it a duty to educate every member of the team on the cybersecurity challenges of the modern day.

Indeed, adaptive enterprises have been restructuring their security needs to meet modern-day goals. Security has thus stretched from the small IT department to become a ubiquitous part of daily operations in organizations.

Security is Forcing Technology to Evolve

There are no benefits that come with cyber-attacks. But if there were to be a single positive impact from cyber threats, it has to be innovation. Security in the cyber realms has forced entities to think outside the box. Threats have encouraged innovators to come up with new solutions for a wide range of issues. Indeed, the creativity that has been sparked as a result of security challenges has led innovation not just in the security realm but in the tech industry as a whole. Technologies of the future are now hitting the markets with security implements being incorporated.

Security is Getting Agile

In recent years, testing and analysis approaches have changed in the digital realms. The increasing security threats have forced the industry to adopt agile measures. Cybersecurity solutions are thus now becoming much faster, smarter and robust. The dynamism that has been experienced in the industry has allowed for the faster collection of data, quick analysis and almost immediate response to threats. As security stakeholders develop the next generation of solutions, the lessons that have been learned will definitely prove to be crucial. The collection and use of data are changing and this makes security solutions much more dependable.

What Does the Future Look Like for Security?

The industry will definitely continue to evolve. Cybersecurity issues are unlikely to go away and this will force enterprises and organizations to continue creating solutions. While it is not possible to predict exactly what will happen, it is sensible to assume that new technologies will provide more robust protection. As faster technologies become mainstream, it will be difficult for attackers to beat the pace of strong systems. Businesses will nevertheless need to take security issues much more seriously as the technology moves to the next stages.

Data-recovery

When sensitive data falls into the wrong hands, it can prove disastrous to a company. In as much as one place all the critical measures in place, there's one aspect that you mustn't forget. You need to have a data recovery backup in place as data loss is inevitable. Here's why having a data recovery backup process is a must in any agency.

1. Data theft

There exist unscrupulous people who seek to prey on other's weaknesses. Thus, you must be extra vigilant when protecting data that you have. With the right data recovery system in the position, you can combat any data theft that might have taken place. It's an excellent opportunity to recover from any data breach that might slow your company's activities. External intrusions are an unfortunate event that might cause clients and potential investors to doubt your abilities in handling their data affairs. However, with a speedy data recovery system, you can assure them of the best services.

2. Failed technology

Technology continuously goes through rapid changes. Within a blink of an eye, a trusted technology gets rendered obsolete, and it can ultimately affect data storage. One ought to be careful when storing your documents in various desktops of disks. Some might get corrupted by malicious malware as well as viruses. It ultimately leads to data loss. That's not all. At times there's a power surge, and it blows out your electronic devices. You need to consult an expert tech solution service provider to know the best way forward. Thus, you wouldn't have to offer bad news to your clients that services are interrupted due to such predicaments. Preferably, you will have contained the situation before it blows out of hand.

3. OS failure

There are unfortunate instances where the operating system will crash, thus leading to data loss. As a smart person, you need to come up with the next possible solution. It would help if you tried having multiple partitions where you get to store your data. However, if you used the same drive, you need to consult an expert on the best forward situation to handle the dire matter at hand.

4. Mistakes are inevitable

In as much as employees have the best interest of the company at heart, errors are unavoidable. You need to have a speedy data recovery and backup solution to mitigate the situation. You need not overlook this process as one might accidentally delete data. As you rely on the online backup data plan, you need to have another method in place. It will enable you to resume your regular duties within the least time possible as you can locate the lost information rather swiftly.

It would be best if you got ready for any predicament that might befall your organization. Employees might make data loss errors, or the computing system might crash altogether. With the right plan and strategy in mind, you need not worry about any disastrous event. Be sure to work closely with the tech solution service to get the best possible outcome in retrieving lost data.

We had been hearing about the connection between Samsung and Qualcomm's next mobile chip, but now we have confirmation and clarity about what exactly is going on between the two behemoths. Samsung and Qualcomm have joined forces in bringing forth the Snapdragon 835 SoC, built on the 10nm FinFET process utilized by Samsung. What this means is, along with producing their very own next-gen Exynos chips, Samsung will also be manufacturing the next Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship chips in 2017.

Interestingly, Qualcomm has decided to name the next SoC as Snapdragon 835, instead of the expected Snapdragon 830 moniker. I am guessing this has been done to mark Qualcomm's shift from the 14nm process to the 10nm process. All of this was unveiled at a press event held in New York City, which was attended by both the parties. In the words of Keith Kressin (Senior VP of Product Management, Qualcomm),

"Using the new 10nm process node is expected to allow our premium tier Snapdragon 835 processor to deliver greater power efficiency and increase performance while also allowing us to add a number of new capabilities that can improve the user experience of tomorrow's mobile devices."

Samsung

Samsung Electronics Korea is currently using 14nm FinFET production method to manufacture its latest Exynos chipset Soc (System-on-chip) like the Exynos 7420 which is powering its latest flagship Galaxy S6.

The Korean giant is preparing to add the latest manufacturing technology, 10nm FinFET process in the foundry roadmap, announcing it officially in the video below.

The 10nm process, as with every die shrink of this magnitude, will introduce a 20% increase in peak clock rates, and a whopping 40% decrease in power consumption, all in the same footprint, and that's what the race is all about, so next year's mobile silicon race is shaping up to be even more exciting than this show season.

According to a report by SamMobile, the next flagship chipset from Qualcomm which will likely replace the current gen flagship Snapdragon 835, is already in the process of development. Samsung will allegedly be working with Qualcomm to make this one as well, just like it did with the SD 835. This SoC will reportedly be powering the Galaxy S9 in 2018 and not the Note 8 which will come out later in 2017.

The chipset which might be called the Snapdragon 845 could also be mass manufactured by Samsung in 2018, although there's a chance that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) might also get the contract.

It is to be noted that Samsung had also announced a month ago that they will be producing 6nm and 8nm chips in the near future as well, which offer an even better power-efficiency than what has been achieved by the already impressive first generation 10nm chips; the SD 835 and the Exynos 8895. If you thought the Galaxy S8 was impressive, wait till the Note 8 and the Galaxy S9 hits the market in late 2017 and early 2018 respectively.

Samsung

Apple always chooses Samsung as its main Hardware chipset manufacturer, Both companies worked together on A6, A7 and A8 chips. According to Etnews, Samsung started making the Apple A9 chipset using a 14nm FinFET design. Apple A9 chips will be included inside the upcoming iPhone / iPad devices Next year (2015).

Samsung has two plants capable of making this chip, but for an unannounced reason it will only be making the A9 in Austin, Texas. Work on that plant was started in late 2012 with a $3.9 Billion investment, specifically with the idea of making Apple chipsets.

Apple A9

TSMC will not let go of the lucrative Apple deal easily and has a competing 16nm FinFET Plus process ready to go. Even though TSMC made the bulk of Apple A8 chips, Samsung still got a cut so sourcing the new chipset from two companies is quite likely.
