Google has just announced that Chrome for Android left beta stage, and now the Google Earth Android App has been updated to version 7.0, bringing with it the full 3D Cities we saw at Google's maps event earlier in the month.

 

Only a dozen or so cities are available in 3D, so it could be a while until you are able to fly over your own home town. Also, the app is clearly a memory hog in 3D Mode several reviews have indicated crashes occurring, and on a Verizon Galaxy Nexus the app did often slow down as it continued to render higher quality tiles onto the 3D map.

Instagram, the popular photo-editing and sharing app, has received its first round of updates since Facebook splurged to acquire it to the tune of one billion dollars. The iOS version was updated yesterday to version 2.5, and today the much younger Android variant received most of the same features as it reached version 1.1.4.

 

The big question for many users is, has Facebook sunk its claws into Instagram in a way that will hurt the user experience? After all, they presumably didn't drop a billion dollars just for kicks. The answer to that is sort of the updates introduce a Facebook heart feature that you tap on to show you like it. By default this only shows up for other Instagram users, but in the options menu you can choose to share your likes to Facebook automatically.

This latest release adds support for 7" tablets (Google Nexus 7), support for high-resolution screens, additional device support including Ice Cream Sandwich compatibility, the ability to sign up for a trial from within the app, and, of course, "various bug fixes and optimizations".

Mozilla is making something big, according to their Twitter teasing a Major Firefox update on Android.

There are virtually no indications on what the "something BIG" part might be, but judging from the not so many Firefox goodies the browser has seen on Android, it's safe to assume the announcement is in this ballpark.

 

Next week is when the Google I/O conference will take place (June,27) so it's highly probable Mozilla will make its announcement there. Google will also announce its new Android JellyBean 4.1 too.

Dropbox has confirmed that it will be ending public folder support from the beginning of August, though the change will only impact new accounts and new public shares. "After July 31, 2012, we will no longer create Public folders in any new Dropbox accounts" the company said today, having emailed developers with the news last night. "Public folders in existing accounts, however, will continue to function as before."

"In April, we launched the ability to share any file or folder in your Dropbox with a simple link" Dropbox wrote on its company offiical blog. Today, Chrome blog announced another major update today, which includes widespread international availability. Chrome for Android has added support for 31 more languages, and the app is now available everywhere the Google Play Store can be reached.

Back September we got wind that Rockstar Games was working on a mobile version of its iconic Max Payne game with updated graphics. At that time there was no release date or confirmed platforms. We guess that it would hit both Android and iOS around March 2012. We were pretty close!

 

 

 

A few minutes ago Rockstar Games took to its website and various social networking outlets to make the official Max Payne Mobile announcement. Max Payne Mobile will launch exclusively for iOS devices on April 12, 2012 followed by Android devices, two weeks later, on April 26, 2012.

 

 

The game will be the complete Max Payne PC title optimized for mobile devices. It will sport HD graphics, high-resolution textures, Social Club connectivity, and user-customizable controls.

 

According to the latest stats from Flurry, the Apple App Store has a red-hot challenger on its tail and it is not just the Google Play Store.

 

Using stats compiled during the 45 days from January, for every $1 in revenue that came into the Apple App Store, $0.89 was spent in the Amazon Appstore. Trailing badly is the Google Play Store that had only $0.23 of sales for each $1 spent in Apple online applications store.

 

 

 

 

Apple starts to fear the tremendous grow of the Amazon app store and the Android platform everyday, getting this close in less than one year, is a scary point for Apple.

Rovio, the Developer of Angry Birds, is getting ready to launch the Game New Version "Angry Birds Space". Yesterday, Rovio made a custom helmet for F1 driver Heikki Kovalainen and today brings more F1 promotion and Two New birds.

Kimi Raikonen will wear a patch featuring a new angry bird on his race suit. The bird was chosen to match Kimi nickname Iceman and is called "Ice bird". It will freeze the area it hits, making it fragile and easy to destroy with the next bird.

The other new bird is called "Lazer Bird" and comes with an official video showing off its abilities. It is very similar to the well-known yellow bird.

To prove the value of its platform, the company is releasing a free Clik YouTube app today for the iPhone and Android, which basically turns your smartphone into an addictively powerful Youtube remote control.

How Clik Works ?

Simply visit clickthis.com in any web browser, scan the QR code with the Clik app (see right), and you will be presented with options that directly control what the browser displays. On the Clik YouTube app, you will be able to choose from featured videos, as well as search for YouTube videos, that will instantly start playing on the remote screen.

Angry Birds Space promises to be an exciting departure from the usual Angry Birds gameplay. There will still be some limbless bird flinging but this time the conditions are different.
