The sales of tablets has waned down to such a degree that most manufacturers have actually stopped producing them altogether. Even the likes of Samsung, a company which used to churn out multiple tablets in every price segment just two or three years ago has released only one new tablet recently and that's the Galaxy Tab S3. However, the Apple iPads have almost inherently been more popular than Android tablets and still continue to enjoy similar popularity in most regions. Therefore, you can understand our surprise when IDC presented reports which placed Android tablets (read Samsung tablets) higher than the iPads in Western Europe!

Although the tablet market in general waned down by 1.7% YOY at the end of Q1 2017, Android tablets were in majority in the 7.1 million tablets sold in the region during the period. Samsung secured the first position with 26.5% of the market share in the quarter and a sales number of 1.89 million units. Apple slipped down to the second position with 21.7% market share and a sales number of 1.54 million units. What is even more important is the fact that while Samsung's tablet sales saw a YOY Q1 growth of 17.9%, Apple saw a decline 11.5%, which is quite unexpected and staggering. I guess Samsung is coming back on top everywhere and in every segment!

The results are in and Samsung is still the number one manufacturer and supplier of smartphones in the European region at the end of Q1, 2018, with Apple coming in second. Apparently, Samsung managed to ship 15 million units during the last quarter, while Apple managed to sell only about 10 million smartphones. At a time when smartphone shipments have fallen by as much as 6.3% (YoY comparison), it could have been commendable that the Korean company has still managed hold on to the number one position, had it not been for the fact that they have actually slipped by 15% from last year! Market share of Apple on the other hand, fell by 5.4%.

What is more interesting is the fact that even in a high-profile region like Europe, Chinese manufacturer Huawei has grown by a whopping 38.6% by shipping 7.4 million smartphones in the region during this quarter! Not that Huawei wasn't already a force to reckon with, it's just that the rate at which the company is growing in the international market is quite amazing.

It has been used in various fields regardless of the public and private sectors, and the UK venture company ever ledger Company records and manages diamond appraisal information, transaction history, and transfer certification on the blockchain. In the diamond trading market, forgery of appraisal documents and insurance fraud for jewelry were widespread and became a social problem. By utilizing blockchain, the company has built a system that allows police and insurance companies to refer to the data, which helps prevent crime.
In addition, Estonia's Vander Beam Company provides a blockchain mechanism to raise investment funds for startup companies. It is possible to liquidize and sell investment funds without waiting for the invested company to grow and return the funds. We also have data on more than 150,000 startups around the world, and some Japanese investors are investing through them.

Estonia is a representative country that uses the blockchain as a platform for the Okino Electronic Government. The Scandinavian Baltic countries Estonia is about one-ninth of Japan's land area, but it is attracting attention as a digitally advanced country. Since 2002, ID cards have been issued to the public, and more than 96% of the 1.31 million people own ID cards. Administrative procedures other than marriage, divorce, and real estate sales can be done online, and more than 3000 services can be used with an ID card.
The government's IT-related budget is 50 million Euros about 6 billion yen per year, which is overwhelmingly small, compared to other countries, but what made it possible is X-Road exroad that links the databases of each ministry and agency. It is a mechanism. Information such as resident registration information and health care information held by each ministry and agency is connected peer-to-peer and can be referred to each other. The operation of EXLOAD started in 2001. It was epoch-making that we quickly adopted the technology that leads to the distributed management, which is the concept of blockchain. Estonia is also overwhelmingly high in terms of the efficiency of the old- fashioned tax collection, and it has a big opening up with Japan. Electronic filing of tax returns started in 2000, but it is designed to be completed in 3 clicks and in a minimum of 3 minutes, and 98% is paid electronically. As a privacy measure, when a person who does not permit digital confidential information is viewed, it is immediately detected, the history is written, and a large penalty is imposed.

How about using it in Japan?

I often hear the term fintech, which incorporates IT into Okina finance, but especially in financial transactions, proof experiments are being actively pursued. The Japan Exchange Group conducted a field trial using a blockchain in post-trade processing such as settlement of funds after the establishment of a transaction in the market. In addition, some major banks are planning to issue their own virtual currencies, and some regional banks are incorporating blockchain into the meal ticket sales system at the bank cafeteria.

Please tell us about the issues with blockchain technology.

There is a problem of scalability extend ability, as is the case with the Okina Bitcoin transaction. As the number of transactions in the blockchain increases, the amount of information stored in the block also increases. If this happens, the blockchain will become long, the disk capacity required for network participants and the load on the machine will increase, and it may not be possible to handle a large number of transactions. It will take some time to ensure the scalability to cover credit card payments and securities transactions around the world.
There is also the issue of speed in approving a transaction. Bitcoin creates blocks every 10 minutes, so it is not suitable for transactions that require immediacy.

Is the use of blockchain going forward?

In 2016, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry announced a report entitled Survey on domestic and overseas trends regarding services using block chain technology. According to the report, the utilization of blockchain as social infrastructure is expected to increase the efficiency and efficiency of sharing services and supply chains, resulting in a potential market size of 67 trillion yen.

lg g pro 2

The Android 5.0.1 Lollipop update started seeding for LG G Pro 2 users in South Korea some 10 days ago. Today, LG is pushing the same update to Hungary and Europe.

Weighing in at about 640MB, the new 5.0.1 Lollipop firmware brings a much-needed UI refresh to the G Pro 2, which was starting to look a bit stale and outdated with LG's now aged proprietary skin based on Android 4.4 KitKat.

Among the changes are a re-designed notifications bar, refreshed icons, new software navigation keys, an overhauled recent apps menu, and many more. If you've seen the LG G3 with Lollipop on it, then you'll know exactly what to expect.

Although dated, the Galaxy Note Edge is the only available Note smartphone in the market right now to sport a curved display or an Edge screen. It isn't curved on both the sides unlike the Note 7, but it does sport some of the same functionalities, the S-Pen and a gorgeous 5.6-inch 1600p Super AMOLED panel nevertheless. Therefore, we are happy that Samsung has decided to launch a maintenance update for the device, loaded with the October SMR update as well. As usual, it is only available to the unlocked versions of the smartphone in the Europe. Check out some of the key improvements which the 364MB update will bring to the Note Edge, below.

Improvements in stability, battery performance and better memory management
Multiple bug fixes and introduction of brand new features
Android's October Security Maintenance Release update from Google

Although this is good news for the owners of the Galaxy Note Edge, we feel that this one might also be the last official update that we will see from Samsung for both the Galaxy Note Edge and the Galaxy Note 4, given that these two aged devices have now come to an end of their two year software support timeline that Samsung usually offers to its products.

It has now been officially confirmed by Samsung Mobile's Netherlands division that the Galaxy Tab S won't be upgraded to Android Marshmallow. This news came as a bit of a surprise to us as we were pretty sure that the tablet was going to get the update. Our belief on the matter was of course, based on rumors, but also the fact that we had seen a few screenshots of the Tab S running on Android 6.0.1 on certain websites.

The reasons as to why Samsung took this decision are unknown to us at the moment, but it could be due to the fact that they might have decided on the effort being more work than they had previously anticipated. It could also be a result of bad information on the part of the websites that originally reported the news. All we know for sure is that neither the 8.4-inch Tab S, nor the 10.5-inch one will be getting the update in Europe as per the page's official post on Facebook. If something does change, we will be sure to inform you. In the meanwhile, it looks like if you want to run Android M on your Tab S, your only hope is the modding community now.

If you are in Europe and you have an unlocked version of the Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge, you will be prompted to download a new OTA update soon, if you haven't been prompted already. Go to Settings > About device > Software update and search manually for the update to see if it has arrived on your smartphone yet. Even if it hasn't, don't worry, as it takes time for updates to reach all customers.

After you download and install firmware version XXU1BPHJ on to your device, it will become compatible with Samsung Cloud, which had so far been exclusive to the Galaxy Note 7 only. The new Gallery app from the phablet will also now become a part of your S7 or S7 Edge in addition to the SMR security patches for the month. While it is standard for Samsung to release monthly security patches for its flagship smartphones, the changelog for this particular patch was not detailed on their blog, like they usually are. Nevertheless, since it can only make your device more secure and brings some new features to the smartphone, we recommend downloading and installing it as soon as you can.

If you live in Europe and you have a Galaxy A5 (2016), you should be notified about a new update anytime now. As you can probably guess already, this is the package that contains the Android SMR package for the month of October, as well as custom fixes from Samsung. The update isn't a particularly large one at just about 20MB, but this is an important patch nevertheless. According to the changelog accompanying the update, this will address a particular critical security hole in the A5's software. Details about this particular vulnerability were not mentioned in the changelog to stop hackers from exploiting it.

If you have not been prompted for the update yet, feel free to check from Settings > About phone > Software update manually. Even if you do not see the update right away, don't worry as it will take a while before all the batches are rolled out and it arrives on every eligible Samsung Galaxy A5 smartphone. As always, the update is only out for unlocked versions of the A5 (2016).

In what could be one of the final software updates for the device, if not the THE final one, Samsung has just rolled out a huge software update to the Galaxy Note 4 in Europe via OTA. The Note 4 is about two years old now, so according to what we have seen with Samsung, it is coming to the end of its manufacturer's software coverage.

The 350MB update will change the firmware version to XXS1DPJ3 and bring multiple improvements to the Note 4. Notable changes include better memory management, better stability, fixes for multiple bugs, greater battery optimization, enhanced core features and overall improvement in stability. If you are still wondering why it's so big, then keep in mind that this update also includes Google's security release for October as well.

Don't be impatient if you do not see the update on your device yet as it usually takes a bit of time before all the batches are rolled out and every smartphone starts to receive the update. Do you think this one truly is the last update for the Note 4, or will Samsung continue to provide the aged device with security updates for a while longer? The news was brought to our attention, thanks to GalaxyClub.

It has been just a week or so since the first build of the beta went live for the S7 and S7 Edge in Europe and they have already released the second build in Europe! This package will come to the eligible smartphones as an OTA update, just like the first build. The changes that the 92MB file brings to the basic build are mainly improvements in stability, performance and minor bug fixes, rather than any significant new features that are worth mentioning.

Incidentally, today also marks the date when the first version of the Nougat beta build went live in China for eligible users of the Galaxy Beta Program. South Korea is yet to receive the second build from Samsung, even though it was the first country to receive the initial beta build. Nevertheless, irrespective of your device's location, if it has been selected for the Galaxy Beta Program, all builds of the beta Nougat program will come to your S7 or S7 Edge eventually.

Although it has been more than three years since the Galaxy S4 Mini was officially launched, it's good to see that it has not been totally forgotten. Those who are using the S4 Mini in Europe under a contract from Vodafone will soon be receiving a prompt to update their devices, if they haven't already. The update in question is the security patch for the month of September, which will address a total of 66 bugs and vulnerabilities on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. The package has been released following a similar OTA update that was rolled out for the Galaxy S4 a few weeks back.

To check for the update manually, go to Settings > About device > Software update and see if it's there yet. Even if it isn't there, expect it to arrive within the next week or so. Once you download and install the security patch, the firmware version should change to XXUCPI1 on your device. Unfortunately, this isn't an OS upgrade, which means that the S4 Mini will still be running on the dated Android 4.4.2 KitKat as always. There has been no news regarding a similar update for the unlocked version of the Galaxy S4 Mini yet.

If you own a Galaxy Note 4, we have good news for you. Samsung has now officially started to roll out the January security update for the older Note. Keep in mind that this update is only out for the unlocked variants and as of now, Germany is the first country to receive it. If Samsung follows its usual routes, then Netherlands will receive the security patch next. From there on, Poland and UK could be next in line.

The update will come in with the same 67 patches and fixes which are part of all Android January SMR updates. Additionally, 28 of Samsung's own custom fixes should also make their way onto your Galaxy Note 4, post the updating process. Check the details here on the official changelog. You should automatically be prompted to download and install it once it arrives on your phone, but feel free to check for the update manually from Settings > About device > Software updates, if you wish.

Samsung continues to support the Galaxy Note 4 with regular security updates as the February patch begins to hit the unlocked Galaxy Note 4 in Europe. Considering that even some of the its newer devices have not yet received the February patch from Samsung, it is a bit surprising. Nevertheless, it's good to see Samsung still supporting its older flagships.

The firmware version for this update is N910FXXS1DQB4 and it brings all the fixes included in the February SMR release along with a few of Samsung's own custom bug fixes and performance improvements. Although people keep saying that the Galaxy Note 4 is now too old to receive any updates from the OEM, Samsung keeps rolling them out and that's a good thing. Nevertheless, an official Nougat update is certainly not coming to the Note 4 or any of its contemporary handsets.

If you are in Europe, the update should hit your device within the next few weeks. If you are in any other region, you may have to wait a while before getting it. You can also head over to our firmware section to find all the latest available updates for your Samsung smartphones.

A 403MB update has started to make its way onto the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 smartphones in Europe. The OTA update comes straight from Samsung and brings the March security patch with it as expected. Although Samsung continues to support the Note 4 with security updates, any hopes you may have of the old Note getting updated to Android Nougat is unfortunately, false hope! Samsung will never update the Note 4 to Nougat and it will continue to function on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 for as long as it can.

The firmware version on the handset is N910FXXS1DQC3 and is currently only live in Europe. Also, no carrier specific versions have started receiving it as of now. The March SMR contains fixes for 73 issues specific to the Android OS and about twelve of Samsung's own fixes for internal vulnerabilities exclusive to Samsung smartphones. Apart from the security patch, the update also brings improvements in battery life and better performance on a daily basis with it.

As you probably know already, Samsung have been facing quite a few issues since the Galaxy S8's launch and although none of them are as large as what happened with the Note 7 (fortunately!), they are there nonetheless. The red tint problem have been bugging a few early adopters of the S8 and S8+ in certain sections of the world and Samsung started to address the problem a few days back when they released a fix for it in South Korea. They have now started to release the same update to its European customers.

The so called fix is however more of a "do-it-yourself" update than a patch really. After installing the update, users will now be able to control the RGB balance of the main panel, in addition to the edges (screen edge colour balance) where it reportedly looked more reddish than anywhere else on the display. There will also be a new option to make your phone look warmer or cooler, depending on your preference. Now we are just waiting for Samsung to address the more serious Galaxy S8 restart problem that some customers are complaining about. Have you faced any of these issues on your Galaxy S8 or S8+ yet?

According to a report by SamMobile, Samsung has just started to release the much awaited Nougat update for the Galaxy A5 (2016) in Europe. To be more precise, it's only available in Russia as of now, but more European nations should be seeing the update soon enough. This marks the beginning of Samsung releasing Nougat for its older mid-range handsets from last year.

The update contains firmware version A510FXXU4CQDK and is available via OTA in the country right now. If you want to check out the firmware yourself from some other nation, you will have to wait for a while because it's still not available at our firmware section yet. Nevertheless, there's a lot of other firmware and updates available for Samsung smartphones and tablets there, so be sure to check them out.

The Galaxy A5 (2017) has just started to receive the latest security patch from Samsung in Europe. As it is the case with all Android smartphones that will be receiving the patch, the May Security Maintenance Release addresses 54 Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) on the smartphone. Additionally, 11 more patches from Samsung's end will also be making their way onto the A5 (2017) with the OTA update.

The standard sized 155MB update comes in the form of firmware version A520FXXU1AQE2 and should be released in other regions within the next few weeks. If you are in Europe however, the update could be hitting your device anytime now. You can always check from Settings > About device > Software updates like we always mention, but it's not really necessary, given that the prompts are usually instant and automatic nowadays.

The month might almost be over, but it isn't over just yet. So, in a way Samsung is on time with the May security update for the Note 4 and Note Edge. As per the source, the update is only available to European users right now, but it's only a matter of time (which hopefully won't be too long) before the same goes live in all regions. This news concerns only the unlocked versions, so if you have one of these two handsets on a carrier contract, you will have to check with your carrier for details about the SMR.

The Galaxy Note 4 is being upgraded to firmware version N910FXXU1DQE2 and the curved Note Edge will be receiving its update with firmware version N915FYXXS1DQE1. There isn't much to say about the May security update than the fact that it addresses 54 Android vulnerabilities and bugs this month. Samsung has bundled in its own set of 11 fixes with the OTA update as well. Let us know if you see anything new.

The Galaxy S8+ had started to receive the June Security Patch in Europe a few hours ago and now a new report has confirmed that the same update has also started to land on the Indian variant. It is just a maintenance update but it is quite a significant one for a number of reasons. Firstly, the monthly SMR for June actually addresses 96 vulnerabilities in the base Android OS; which is in itself quite a large hole to fill! Add to that the fact that it also carries a few of Samsung's own updates to the UI and it suddenly begins to seem like quite a significant update.

Apparently, the most prominent change which this update brings to the S8+ are new colors for the navigation bar background. Given all that it is carrying, the 453.72MB size is quite understandable. Did you start to receive the update in your location yet? If you did and you don't live in Europe or India, please let us know in the comments.

Since its already well into the second week of July, one would think that any maintenance update released for a smartphone would contain the Android security patch for the month of July, but that isn't quite the case yet with the Galaxy A5 (2017). While the update is most definitely an OTA package which will fix some vital problems, it doesn't carry the July security patch with it.

This leads us to believe that the 30MB file with the build number A520FXXU2AQF5 must contain fixes for certain problems that are unique to the Galaxy A5 (2017) only. This makes it all the more necessary that you download and install it as soon as it becomes available for your smartphone. As of now, it's rolling out only in the European continent. Hopefully, the July security update will be making its way onto the Galaxy A5 (2017) very soon as well. In fact, we are pretty sure that the security patch of the month will arrive onto the Galaxy A5 (2017) along with the Android Nougat update package together, by the end of this month (hopefully!).

The Galaxy J5 is an old low-mid range device now but Samsung has not yet put it out of its security update system yet. While Android Nougat is not assured for the old smartphone (it has not been confirmed yet), it is still getting the security updates on a monthly basis to keep things safe and secure for its users. The July security update has started to hit various regions in Europe now and if you own the J5 Original in the area, you should be prompted for a firmware update very soon now.

The update itself comes in at a nominal size of only 45MB, with the build number J500FNXXS1BQG3, so the download should be a quick one. In addition to the 65 Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) shared by all Android smartphones and tablets, the OTA update also includes 16 of the Korean OEM's own fixes for its smartphones. Let us know when you start to see the update in other regions as well.

We are nearing the end of September and Samsung is still in the process of rolling out Android Security updates for the month of August it seems. The Galaxy S5 Neo has just started receiving the security patch from last month in Europe according to sources. We know that it's an old set now, but September 19 still seems a bit too late for delivering a patch for August! Nevertheless, it's here and you should be checking your smartphone to see if it has arrived on your S5 Neo yet.

The firmware carries version number G903FXXS1BQH1 with it, which contains 28 fixes for common vulnerabilities and exposures found in all Android powered devices, alongside 12 of Samsung's own fixes for vulnerabilities in its own overlying UI. The bad news is that the European version of the S5 Neo is still not receiving Nougat 7.0, although the handset is receiving the same in other regions like Canada. Let's hope Samsung releases the Android 7.0 update for the aging handset soon in Europe.

After patching quite a few other models, Samsung has now turned its attention to the flagship handsets from the year 2015; the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge. If you live in the European region, your S6 or S6 Edge should be prompted for an OTA update soon enough. If you have the regular S6, the build version should be G920FXXU5EQI6, while if you have the S6 Edge, you should see build number G925FXXU5EQI6 making its way onto your smartphone.

Just like all the other BlueBorne patches released by Samsung so far, this one doesn't have the September patch from Google either. This essentially means that Samsung has actually skipped the September patch altogether in favor of rolling out the BlueBorne security update. We will now have to wait for the October update to arrive for all Samsung devices.

Just in case you are not aware what BlueBorne is, know that it is the latest hack that's threatening security across all the three major platforms; Android, iOS and Windows. All it needs is a Bluetooth connection (not even permission to connect is required) and hackers can access your device and all data in it. Better download the update fast!

It might already be December, but Samsung is still in the process of rolling out Google's last month's updates to many of its smartphones in various regions. Even premiere flagship handsets like the Galaxy Note 8 is only getting it now in India and Europe, but there is no way to tell when it will be time for the mid-rangers that did not yet get the November patch.

According to SamMobile, the update doesn't add any improvements to the Note 8's Live Focus feature which was the highlight of the Note 8's November release from Samsung in US and Taiwan. This is not to say that the handsets in Europe and India won't be getting the improvements, because it would be strange and unexplainable if they don't! Samsung will probably soon add the tweaks in the regions where it has not been added yet via either a separate update or the upcoming December patch. The good news is that the November patch fixes the threatening KRACK Wi-Fi vulnerability, 61 Android bugs and 6 Samsung UI related issues for now.

The October patch has now started to hit unlocked Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge handsets across Netherlands and hopefully other regions by the time you are reading this. As Samsung had skipped the September patch this year, this is the first Google security update that Samsung smartphones are getting after August. Firmware versions G930FXXU1DQJ1 and G935FXXU1DQJ1 are released for the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge respectively and you should be prompted to update your device anytime now.

The decent sized 122MB packages should contain fixes for 215 vulnerabilities and bugs in the Android OS, as well as Samsung's own six patches for their part in the phone's software. The OEM had to skip the September security update because they were too busy patching the infamous BlueBorne security threat, which was a serious problem last month. Nevertheless, no reports indicate that any Samsung phone was left unprotected last month, which signifies that although they did not release the September security patch, the BlueBorne patch was more than apt to keep the devices secure for the time being.

Samsung's update schedule regarding the monthly security updates have been a jumbled mess lately, but if you own a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge in the Netherlands, we have good news because the November security patch has just started rolling out to the two smartphones in the region. The OTA update will come in with firmware version G930FXXS1DQK1 if you have a S7 and firmware version G935FXXS1DQK1 for the S7 Edge. Both packages weigh in at around 20MB only, but that's to be expected, given that the only major flaw which it corrects is vulnerability to the Krack Wi-Fi hack.

In addition to the 61 fixes which Google detailed in the November patch, this month's update will also fix six of Samsung's own problems in the two smartphone's overlying user interface. Keep in mind that this update is live only for the unlocked versions of the two smartphones in the region and it will take a bit of time before the carrier versions get it.

Just a few days ago, Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile started to upgrade the OS on their respective variants of the Galaxy Note 8 in US with Android 9 Pie, which also had the March security patch embedded in it as well.

Now Samsung has begun to send the April security update for the Note 8 (international variant) in Europe. Although a number of other countries could also be included on the list by the time you get around to reading this, the source names Netherlands, Germany, Italy and Russia to be among the first. Take a look at the firmware version and a few key elements to be expected from the update below.

·        Firmware Version: N950FXXS5DSC5

·        Fixes multiple High-Risk vulnerabilities in the base Android OS, as stated by Google

·        Fixes five Critical vulnerabilities in the base Android OS, as stated by Google

·        Patches fifteen vulnerabilities unique to the Samsung UI, as stated by Samsung
