iphone 12 mini

The iPhone 12 mini is probably the smallest and most affordable iPhone. It seems to be designed for people who want the newest iPhone, super-fast processing speeds, latest photography technology, and 5G connectivity, but don't want to spend their whole salary on just a phone. Launched alongside the iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max, the iPhone 12 mini is the smallest, thinnest, and lightest iPhone which seems to give tough competition to rivals. But the phone isn't small in terms of features at all.

This new iPhone is a trend-breaker as Apple has never made an affordable variant of a flagship smartphone before. And it's clearly recognizing the tough competition and demand for budget-friendly smartphones. If you're interested in buying the new iPhone 12 mini, this article contains all the information you'll need to know before making a purchase decision. The iPhone 12 mini starts at $699 / £699 / AU$1,199. That's for 64GB of storage, and the price goes up for more storage. The iPhone 12 mini comes without earbuds in the box.

The iPhone 12 mini looks are similar to the regular iPhone 12 model, other than being smaller. Both phones have lots of similar features with the iPhone 11, but the phone looks somehow similar to iPhone 5S - as it has flat edges like an older iPhone, but the aluminum builds, square rear camera block and screen with a big notch in the middle are taken from the iPhone 11. The phone has IP68 protection, so it's dust-proof and can withstand dunks in water to a depth of six meters for up to half an hour.

Apple calls the iPhone 12 mini "the smallest, thinnest, lightest 5G phone in the world", and given how big most 5G phones are, that sounds pretty reasonable and a smart marketing move. The iPhone 12 mini comes in black, white, red, navy, and pale green colors. It's also got the same MagSafe magnetic ring at the back, enabling you to clip on cases, wallets, and wireless charging pads. The cameras here are a 12MP f/1.6 main and 12MP f/2.4 ultra-wide snapper, and that's the same as the iPhone 12. There's video recording at 4K 60fps, which is pretty good. Apple improved Night Mode, which is available for both the rear and front cameras, and which apparently picks up 27% more light than the Night Mode on its predecessor.

apple

Although, it's been only a few months since the iPhone 12 came on the market. Apple is already working to release its next flagship smartphone - the iPhone 13. It is expecting to include four different models - the iPhone 13, the iPhone 13 mini, the iPhone 13 Pro, and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. But when can we expect Apple to release its next phone?

Apple hasn't said anything on the release date, but based on Apple's release history, we can predict when the company will launch the iPhone 13 series. While the pandemic has caused some uncertainty, tech companies adopt virtual events instead of keeping delaying the release. We can expect to get a first look at the iPhone 13 at an event somewhere in September. It is too early to suggest that whether this launch event will be conducted online or have some physical presence.

A few years ago, CNET came up with a compiled Labor Day hypothesis. Based on the 2021 calendar, the Labor day rule would put the September Apple event and the unveiling of the iPhone 13 on September 8 with a September 17 release date. We don't know if this true, until Apple announces an event, and shows off the phone.

iPhone 13 is rumored to have a 120Hz always-on display that could make it easier to check the time and notifications. The always-on feature is similar to existing Android phones. Users can see the clock, battery charge percentage, and notifications as they arrive. It is expected that the 120Hz refresh rate might be limited to the iPhone 13 Pro variants.

So far, there isn't anything on a design change for the upcoming iPhone 13. Another leak suggests that the phone will be using MagSafe magnets which attach the device to the charger and other accessories and have a stronger bond than usual. Apple hasn't confirmed any of these details, so we have to wait for more leaks and news on this matter.

xiaomi

Xiaomi has announced the latest smartphone - Xiaomi Mi 10T series consisting of Mi 10T standar, Mi 10T lite, and Mi 10T prp. It feels like Xiaomi is focusing on the budget smartphones once again, that doesn't come with a higher price ta. That's the kind of smartphones, company is known for, though the Mi 10 smartphones were more like premium devices. The Mi 10T Pro costs £599 (around $700 / AU$990), the Mi 10T is £469 (about $600 / AU$820) and the Mi 10T Lite costs £229 (around $300 / AU$450) for 6GB RAM and 64GB storage, though you can purchase the more storage options for extra money.

Those prices set the two upper-tier smartphones in the pretty affordable category, and the lite model stands as the most affordable phone in its markets right now. Regarding availability, you can purchase the phones in the UK now, and these will possibly come to Australia too as Xiaomi releases some of its devices there. he Xiaomi Mi 10T Lite has the most rear cameras of the lot with a 64MP main, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro and 2MP depth snapper. There's also a 16MP camera on the front for selfies.

In comparison, the standard Mi 10T has the same main sensor but a 13MP ultra-wide snapper and a 5MP macro camera. The selfie camera is slightly more high-spec at 20MP. Finally, the Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro has a 108MP main camera, but the same other cameras as the standard model. Users of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro might find the lack of a telephoto camera an oddity, as that phone actually had two.

All three of these Mi 10T phones support 5G network. The Xiaomi Mi 10T and Mi 10T pro are powered by Snapdragon 865, which was the fastest processor in the start of the year but was replaced by the much powerful 865 plus recently. The Mi 10T lite has the newly-launched Snapdragon 750G, which is more of a mid-range processor but it's optimized to be great for gamers. The processor is paired with 6GB RAM in Mi 10T lite model you can choose between 6GB or 8GB RAM, comes with 128GB storage. The Xiaomi Mi 10T light has a 4,820mAh battery, whereas the other two comes with 5,000mAh battery, and all these three phones support 33W fast charging.

Redmi is doing great with a growing number of units being sold. According to sources, Redmi has already sold around 200 million Note series devices. Redmi Note 10 series is the next smartphone due to release in India and just before the launching date, the Global VP of Xiaomi, Manu Kumar Jain has posted a tweet teasing the launch of the Redmi Note 10 in India. The tweet was retweeted and shared by employees and fans of Redmi Note series.

Every video of them includes a #SM10thChallenge. In the video, he says that the company will be making an announcement on Feb 10 at 10:00 IST. He tweeted, "Got the moves to be as smooth as the smoothest @RedmiIndia smartphone yet? The biggest Not-fication of the year is almost there! Unlock it with Me!, Upload your dance move with the #SM10TH challenge. 10 fans to win BIG!". We don't know what they have decided, but in the company's own words, the price will be BIG.

Redmi Note 9 series was launched back in March 2020, that features a 60Hz LCD. Although a high refresh rate wasn't a trend earlier last year, the realme 6 pro came with 90Hz panels. Still, Xiaomi managed to sell a good amount of Note 9 series in the region. We don't know if the Note 10 series devices would have LCD or AMOLED display, but it is likely that it would come with 90Hz or 120Hz to compete with the latest smartphones.

As per news and leaks, there will be two devices inside the Note 10 series - Redmi Note 10 vanilla model and Note 10 Pro. The former will be available in white, green, or grey colors, while the latter will be available in bronze, blue, and grey variants. As for specs, nothing is final unless we have any words from the official sources or we have the phone in our hands. The devices have already received India's BIS certification. The Note 10 will feature 4/6GB RAM while the Note 10 Pro will feature 6/8GB RAM with 64GB and 128GB internal storage.

xiaomi

When Xiaomi launched its flagship smartphone Mi 11 earlier this year, the company skipped the Pro variant which was used to be a part of the series from day one. The standard Xiaomi Mi 11 was released in China in December 2020 and internationally it went for sale in February 2021. So far, Xiaomi didn't say anything about the release date of the Pro model, but we have already been getting leaks on the price, specs, and release date.

While we are expecting the Xiaomi Mi 11 to be part of a series, there will be lite or ultra variants as well. We are waiting for that to be the case though, so for now, we have various rumors and leaks of the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro. A Weibo user has recently revealed that the Mi 11 Pro will be launched somewhere in mid-March. He also suggested that the flagship smartphone will be launched alongside the Mi 11 Pro Ultra. This is still a rumor but it aligns with another rumor that predicts the launch of the phone in March.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro is said to retain the design of the Mi 11 but there will be some upgrades in the areas of photography and charging speed. The Mi 11 Pro will have a periscope telephoto lens and 120W fast charging technology that is similar to the technology on Mi 10 Extreme Commemorative edition. Further, the Mi 11 Pro is expected to feature a 6.8-inch quad curved display with a resolution of 3200x1400p.

The display will feature a 120Hz refresh rate and 480 touch sampling rate. Recently, a set of renders appeared online. The renders give us a look at the rear camera design of the Pro variant. Numerous reports suggest that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro will feature a massive 4,700mAh battery and Xiaomi's blazing-fast 120W wired charging technology.

Huawei P40

The Huawei P40 is one of the most anticipated smartphones of the tech industry. The company is facing some real problems in the manufacturing area after the Trump administration banned the company. Because of the ongoing Huawei ban, the company can't use any Google apps including the Play Store. This instantly makes it undesirable for the majority of the people using Google and its apps on the daily basis. When the Huawei Mate 30 Pro, it had everything to be a rock star of the industry but because it lacked the apps, not many people outside China wanted it.

Despite an unseen future of Huawei and other Chinese smartphone manufacturers, tech enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Huawei phones. As per rumors the Huawei P40, P40 Pro, and P40 lite, there could be another P40 Pro Premium Edition too with thee perhaps. While Samsung and Apple are releasing their phones this year, and many more coming later in 2020, the phone needs a serious implementation of hardware and software specs to be considered by consumers.

Huawei has officially confirmed the release date of the phone - that is the end of March. This may not come as a surprise of many as the P30 and P30 Pro were unveiled in March 2019, the P20 and P20 Pro were launched back in March 2018. Huawei isn't launching the phone at MWC 2020 event, maybe the company is looking for dedicated limelight for the phone. The Huawei P40 price is a more interesting conversation. At launch, the Huawei P30 cost £699 / AU$1,099 (roughly $910), and the P30 Pro started at £899 (AU$1,599, around $1,140), which were both pricier than the previous year's entries. Interestingly, despite of the ban, the company still aims to launch the phone worldwide.

vivo y32

The premium smartphone space in India has been completely dominated by Samsung and Apple till now, but over the recent years, things started to change in favor of Chinese smartphone manufacturers like OnePlus, Xiaomi's Mi 11 Ultra, and Vivo with X60 and Y73 series. We have already seen the Vivo X60 standard, Pro, and Pro plus in action and these smartphones turned out to be an impressive set of phones that can shoot a lot of videos.

Vivo has teased the launch of another budget-friendly smartphone - Vivo Y73 in India soon. The company has taken to Twitter to show off its first teaser of the smartphone after its launch was already tipped last week. The phone is expected to be around 20,000 INR. The phone is expected to have a triple rear camera system on the back panel.

The company tweeted the teaser on its Indian Twitter account, hinting at the imminent release of Vivo Y73 in the region. As per the teaser, the phone will be available in two colors - Blue and Black. The Blue has a diamond-patterned design and features a water drop-style notch at the front. The teaser suggests that the phone is coming soon but they haven't announced the date yet. The upcoming smartphone is rumored to feature an AMOLED display.

The phone has 8GB RAM and is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G90 SoC and run on Android 11. The Google Play console listing suggests that Vivo Y73 will feature a full HD+ display with 1080x2400 pixels. The phone is tipped to carry model number V2059. The phone is said to have at least three camera sensors inside the module in a triangular formation, with a large camera sensor on the top and two small cameras being placed at the bottom. The phone has a sleek design with power and volume buttons on the phone's right side.

The HTC 10 was recently announced by Verizon and they were the first carrier in the US to do so. However, Sprint has just joined in the action with more details about the phone and a clear release date. The Sprint version of the HTC 10 will be available from May 13 on contract and at zero down payment. There will only be a monthly charge of $26 for two years (24 months) as per the contract. Sprint also added that the highly acclaimed smartphone will be using their LTE Plus network for superfast internet speeds. Verizon will still be the first carrier in America to start selling the HTC 10 via pre-orders accepted only through their online store.

The HTC 10 was received very well around the world by techies and the excellent reviews have created quite a bit of demand for the handset in USA as well. If you are not particularly familiar with HTC's flagship smartphone for 2016, you might find them to be quite impressive. Chamfered edges and a metal body hide the powerhouse Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC within, while the front hosts a 5.2" Super LCD 5 display (1440p) at 565 ppi. There is also 4GB of RAM onboard which seems to have become a standard for all flagship devices this year. HTC has significantly slimmed down HTC Sense 8.0 this year and as a result, the experience feels almost the same as stock Android 6.0.1, albeit with a few added features. There are also the famous front-firing HTC BoomSound speakers and a built-in fingerprint scanner inside the Home button.

Fortunately, most Android smartphone manufacturers went back to the drawing board and gave their smartphones an expandable memory card slot. This holds true for the HTC 10 as well, so you can now increase your phone's storage by an additional 200GB. You will of course get an internal memory of 32-GB to begin with. The 12-megapixel rear camera with laser autofocus, optical image stabilization, f/1.8 aperture and dual-tone LED flash was highlighted by HTC as one of the best features of the smartphone. Not to be outdone, the selfie cam is a 5-megapixel ½.3" sensor with 1.55µm pixel size. The 3,000 mAh battery supports Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0 and once fully charged, is reported to provide the user with 27 hours of talk time, along with a standby time of 456 hours.

Did the impressive specs of the HTC 10 get you excited? Do the positive reviews make you want this phone even more? Or will you give this one a pass? Let us know what you think.

As per a recently released report, the Galaxy Note 6 will launched this year in August. In order to stay in the market and move ahead of its competitor Samsung will be releasing this device with some power packed features. Let's take a look.

  • 4K display - Samsung is fully aiming towards making the Galaxy Note 6 its first device with 4K display. Apple is planning to upgrade the display resolution of the iPhone series in 2016 and that would result in Quad HD resolution in the bigger variant of the iPhone 7. Samsung need 4K technology to make sure that they are ahead of the rivals.

  • Curved screen - It is quite possible that the Korean tech giant will produce both flat and curved screen variants of the Galaxy Note 6.

  • Design - The body will be fully made up of metal (aluminium alloy) with special attention to the design aspect.

  • Standout features - The Galaxy Note 6 will come with its S-Pen stylus and a fingerprint sensor is also expected.

  • New chips - Samsung has started mass production of 256GB UFS 2.0 memory chips to power the Galaxy Note 6. These chips will primarily be used for data storage.

  • RAM memory - The Galaxy Note 6 will be backed by 6 GB RAM and the iPhone's 2GB RAM looks miniscule in front of this. Considering the higher screen resolution, gigantic RAM might just become necessity for this device.

  • CPU - East Asian market will see the device with Exynos 8890 chipset, and the device for Western market will package a Snapdragon 820 chip.

  • Camera - It will boast a dual-pixel camera system with 12-megapixels, powered by Super Optical Image Stabilization Plus (which features include a 5-axis OIS system).

It was becoming quite confusing when it came to rumors about the upcoming Galaxy S8's launch date, but the OEM itself has stepped in and cleared up a large chunk of the confusion. Dong-jin Koh, the chief of Samsung Mobiles has confirmed publicly that the S8 won't be launched at the MWC this year. It has always been Samsung's tradition to unveil its next Galaxy S series of smartphones in Barcelona, at the Mobile World Congress that's held in February every year. However, it seems like Samsung won't be able to stay true to that tradition this year around. This information was retrieved while Dong-jin Koh publicly announced the findings of Samsung's probe into the Galaxy Note 7 disaster.

Unfortunately though, he did not clarify anything about when the Galaxy S8 will actually be unveiled. In order to figure out that bit of information, we will have to depend on rumors once again. There are multiple rumors, but the latest ones suggest that the smartphone will be unveiled in New York, at an exclusive Samsung event on March 29. The S8 will allegedly go on sale after roughly three weeks from the launch date (April 15 - 17).

 Saikat Kar (tech-enthusiast)

When it comes to the Galaxy S series from Samsung, things have never been so confusing, especially regarding its possible launch date. The rumors this year had suggested every possible date, right from the end of February at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, to multiple dates near mid-April. However, recent rumors from popular sources such as Evan Blass (@evleaks) are now suggesting that the S8 will be launched in an exclusive Samsung event on March 29. The S8 and the S8 Plus will go on sale around mid-April from there onwards.

We also have a render for you to look at today, which is claimed to be the official press render of the regular Galaxy S8 by SlashLeaks. Yesterday, we gave you a glimpse of the first live photo of what could very well be the actual Galaxy S8 and if you have not yet checked it out, take a look now as it seems to be the most authentic picture of the S8 we have seen yet. The images have only begun to come in, but the specs have been out for quite a while now. Although they are totally subject to errors, click here to see what we know about the internals of the Samsung Galaxy S8, courtesy of leaks and rumors.

Saikat Kar (tech-enthusiast)

Now that we already have a pretty good idea about what the Galaxy S8 will look like, leakster @mmdj_china has just leaked the RAM details and the exact release date set for the two smartphones in US and China. Both the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ will be sporting 6GB of RAM, at least in China. We think that this will be the same in all regions though, given that the Galaxy C9 Pro recently came out with 6 gigs of RAM. Both devices will have a 64GB and a 128GB variant along with expandable memory card slots.

As far as the release date is concerned, according to the leakster, the S8 series will go on sale in the US on April 14. It was mentioned that in China, the S8 and the S8+ will see release in the 15th week of the year. It is a rather strange way to say that the two devices will be available for purchase form the third week of April. These are the latest developments regarding the Galaxy S8, if you want to see the rest of the specs and rumors, check it out here.

Saikat Kar (tech-enthusiast)

We knew Samsung was not going to launch the Galaxy S8 at the MWC this year, but the company did tease the handset with short promo ads hours earlier at the event. Along with that, it was confirmed that true to the rumors, Samsung is indeed going to unveil the S8 at a "Samsung Unpacked" event which will be held on the 29th of March, simultaneously in New York and London. The S8 and the S8+ will probably go on sale from April 21st, but that isn't official yet.

The teaser doesn't reveal much though, except indicating that Samsung will lead the smartphone world into a new era with the Galaxy S8. Nevertheless, there isn't much left to be revealed, thanks to a barrage of rumors and leaks that have been incoming for the last few weeks. Take a look at the promo and tell us what you think about it in the comments. Also, if you are not aware of the specs yet, here's what Evan Blass from @evleaks of Twitter has suggested the Galaxy S8+ will be sporting when it goes on sale in late April.

Saikat Kar (tech-enthusiast)

We know from an official announcement that the Galaxy Note 8 will be unveiled in NYC this Wednesday on August 23, but now we also have a release date, thanks to Evan Blass from @evleaks on Twitter. The famous leakster informed everyone a few hours ago that Samsung will be opening the pre-orders on August 24, which is the very next day after the Galaxy Note 8's unveiling this Wednesday. He also revealed that the smartphone will be available for purchase from stores starting September 15.

Evan Blass was full of information today as he gave out even more info regarding the Galaxy Note 8 in the same post. According to him, if you pre-order the Galaxy Note 8 in the US, you will either receive a 256GB microSD card + convertible wireless charger or a Samsung Gear 360 camera, but the choice is up to you. A point to be noted is that these dates only apply to the US, South Korea and a few select nations in Europe. The rest of the world will likely have to wait a bit longer.

s10-plus-reavaled-1

The Galaxy S10 series of smartphones are now less than two weeks away from launch date, as Samsung has now confirmed that they are going to unveil the Galaxy S10 series on February 20, at an exclusive Samsung Unpacked event in San Francisco. Even more importantly, we now have our first look at a live Galaxy S10+ model, that reportedly comes from Saudi Arabia. Looking at the images, we are relieved to see that the design isn't as boxy as it looked in the casemaker's models that we showed you yesterday!

s10-plus-revealed-2

If the images are to be believed, then the Galaxy S10+ at least, will indeed sport an in-display fingerprint scanner after all. There's also the expected tri-camera module at the back and it does look like there will be a Pearly White color option this year after all.

oppo reno 4

Oppo has announced the launch of three new smartphones of the Reno 4 series. Initially, the phones will be released only for the western market. Oppo has already launched Reno 4 and Reno 4 pro in China and now they are coming to Europe. However, there is another handset Oppo Reno 4 Z which is a new addition to the series and seems more like an iteration model of an existing Oppo smartphone.

The Oppo Reno 4 series is coming to European market, including the UK in the second week of October. We are not sure about the Oppo's release in the US this year. The upper tier of the series Oppo Reno 4 pro would be the most expensive smartphone in the series while the Reno 4 Z will be the cheapest one. These devices share almost the same design. You can see a camera bump in the top-left corner of the rear side of the camera. Each device features a punch-hole or pill-shaped selfie slot on the front to eliminate the need for a top bezel while giving the user a large screen real estate. The phone will be available in white, black, or blue colors.

The Reno 4 Z has a 6.57-inch LCD Full HD+ screen with a refresh rate of 120Hz. Meanwhile the regular Reno 4 features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a full HD+ resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. The Reno 4 pro has a 6.5-inch AMOLED full HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The Reno 4 and Reno 4 pro comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner, while the Z model has its scanner built into the side of the phone instead of in the display.

The Oppo Reno 4 features a 48MP primary camera lens, with 12MP ultra-wide, and 13MP telephoto camera lens. On the front side of the phone, there is a 32MP selfie camera. The Reno 4 Z and Pro both are powered by 4,000mAh batteries, while the Oppo Reno 4 has a slightly bigger 4,020mAh battery. Both the higher-tier phones come with 65W fast charging while the Reno 4 Z is limited to 18W charging.

The Oppo Reno 4 and Pro are run on a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, which is the same processor we have seen in the Google Pixel 5. The Reno 4 Z features a MediaTek Dimensity chipset. So far we know that all of the three phones support 5G network connectivity. Reno 4 Z and Reno 4 features 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the Pro model features 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Apple's all new iPhone 7 is set to go on sale in September. But when in September?

If AT&T's leaked reset schedule is anything to go by, the pre-order date for the new device is going to September 9th and the official release date to the public is going to be the two weeks later on the 23rd.

Design

The design of the 7 is said to be notably similar to that of the 6 and 6S. If so, it will be available with a 4.7 inch screen, with a Plus version boasting a 5.5 inch screen also available. The rounded aluminium unibody frame, available in space grey, silver, gold and rose gold, is set to also remain the same, though there may be a few very minor changes.

Not so minor, and probably the most obvious change to the design of the handset is the removal of the headphone jack. Developers are said to be scrapping the jack to make way for a slimmer model, and more room for hardware upgrades. If the headphone jack is to be removed, wireless Bluetooth headphones, or a lightning port will come with the model. A slimmer design would be a bold move from Apple considering how many smashed displays you see around nowadays.

The seven's next major revamp may just be the home button. Rather than an actual button you, it may be replaced with a pressure sensitive touch pad. Such technology has already been seen on Apple's latest MacBook so it's definitely a plausible rumour.

Camera

The camera is set to undergo a massive revamp. The iPhone 7 Plus will see the most significant changes with a dual camera on the horizon, a dual camera would more than satisfy photography enthusiasts as it would produce near DSLR-quality photographs.

Price

Apple has been pretty consistent with its pricing on last two iPhone releases, meaning that many expect the new handset to be priced around £539 for a 16GB, £619 for a 64GB, £699 for a 128gb and if rumours are true, over £800 if a huge 256gb model is released.
Of course these prices are for buying the handset outright so contact prices from retailers like Carphone Warehouse, Mobile Phone Direct etc will vary depending on model, network, and of course stock.

Technical Bits

Onto the more technical side of things, the 7's display technology may be a slight improvement on that of the 6 but it is unlikely to stray away from the 1080p LCD screens of the 6. Innovations seen on the iPad may be added, however. True Tone - the colour temperature-shifting feature - may be introduced from the latest iPad Pro. This would allow for more realistic colours.

Another major upgrade from the 6S is the processing power of the 7. Apple's A10 processor as well as the M10 motion co-processor may finally be implemented. This would add up to 50% more processing power, making the handset run a whole lot more smoothly.

Currently, one of the main frustrations the iPhone brings is its poor battery life. And with it, it's irritatingly short charging cable. Well whispers suggest that the 7 may finally sport a wireless charger, however, the reliability of those whispers cannot be voucher for too much. To make up for this though, it is highly possible that the new handset may charge in a fraction of the time it takes the 6S, this is down to the five volts, two amps charging.

If we're talking iMessage, larger emojis are set to become available as well as the option to draw pictures rather than send text. The other leading apps such as photos, music, news and maps are also set to undergo a makeover.

And the quirkiest rumour regarding the seven? It may finally follow in the footsteps of the Samsung Galaxy by becoming water-resistant. The removal of the headphone jack certainly supports those rumours, as does Apple's previous interest in existing waterproof devices.
Whether AT&T's leaked schedule is correct, or the claims from serial leaker Evan Blass that state the seven will go on sale on September 16 are, one thing for sure is that the handset is definitely set for release in September. The release of the seven may be just weeks away ladies and gentlemen!

ios 8

iOS 8 has been in wide release for just under one week, which means it is time to start looking ahead to Apple's first bug fix update for the software. And, as usual, the first update will be aiming at smaller troubles rather than trying to fix the larger issues that have been found in the new iOS. We've heard about Wi-Fi issues with iOS 8, and there is also the new study claiming that iOS 8 is less stable than iOS 7.

However, as is the way Apple works, we should probably expect fixes for those issues with iOS 8.1 and with subsequent updates to the various third-party apps that are likely part of iOS 8's crash problems. The iOS 8.0.1 Change-log is the following:

- Phone: Addresses bugs with call forwarding and freezing when accessing visual voicemail

- Keyboard: Fixes an issue with keypad not appearing to enter - iCloud Keychain verification codes

- Safari: Fixes a problem with videos occasionally not playing

- Sharing: Fixes AirDrop support for Passbook passes

- VPN: Addresses an issue with installing VPN profiles

Personally, I am more of an Android guy, but I won't judge you for loving an iPhone either. In spite of all the highly controversial decisions that they take, the truth is that Apple does make great smartphones and bake some remarkable features into them every year. Everybody is expecting Apple to do something truly new and amazing in 2017 since it is going to mark the tenth anniversary of the most hyped smartphone series of all time. A lot of rumors have been going around lately regarding OLED screens, hefty price tags and enhanced dual camera modules but none of them had yet presented a release date for the device until now. The famous leakster Benjamin Geskin, also known as @VenyaGeskin1 on Twitter is claiming that "Apple's iPhone 8 / 7s Keynote will be held on September 17. Sales September 25."

This exciting piece of news joins in with another news that we heard earlier today about the iPhone 8. As it turns out Apple may have done one already over the Galaxy S8 by embedding an under the screen fingerprint scanner right below the display; something that the S8 was supposed to bring to the table but could not because of failed deadlines.

iphone 12

Apple didn't announce this year's iPhone 12 at the Apple September event, but we are hopeful to have it unveiled in at least October. Apple's last event was focused on the Apple Watch, iPad Air 4, a new iPad, the Apple One Subscription services, and the launch of a new service series called Apple Fitness plus.

There are rumors that the company will launch as many as 3 iPhones called the iPhone 12 max, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 pro max. There are also some rumors of having another name for the vanilla iPhone called the iPhone 12 Mini, and that we were previously thinking of like the iPhone 12 max. In any case, there could be more iPhone variations this time, especially with the iPhone SE 2020 that was launched earlier in the year.

We are expecting some major upgrades from Apple, including the first 5G iPhone. Last year the iPhone series didn't have support for 5G that made it less desirable for people living in the area with 5G support. Leaks and rumors suggest that the iPhone 12 Pro models will get a LiDAR scanner, just like the iPad Pro 2020, and we also heard about the new display sizes that range anywhere between 5.4-inches to 6.-inches.

The biggest change in the upcoming iPhone is power related. The iPhone 12 is using the A14 bionic chipset seen in the new iPad Air 2020 that will have a significant effect on battery life. The display is a super retina XDR OLED capacitive touchscreen with 1 billion colors and a 120Hz refresh rate. According to leaks, the phone uses a 12MP wide camera as the primary lens, a 12MP telephoto camera, a 12MP ultra-wide camera lens, and a TOF 3D LiDAR scanner depth camera lens. You can shoot a 4k video up to 24, 30, and 60fps. The phone comes with Li-Ion non-removable battery with 18W fast charging. The new iPhone 12 series is available in matter space gray, matte silver, matte gold, matt midnight green, and matte blue colors.

apple

The new iPhone 12 hasn't been announced yet but we are expecting it really soon. That's just a rumor for now, but we might expect to see it in an event on October 13. The rumors suggest that there will be iPhone 12 max, iPhone 12 pro, and iPhone 12 pro max, with the entry-level iPhone 12 mini in the series. In such a case, you will have more choice than ever this year, especially with the iPhone SE that was launched in the beginning of this year. Apple's September 15 event focused on the Apple watch 6, iPad Air, a new iPad, and the Apple One subscription services.

Another report on the release date, which comes from "multiple suppliers in China", suggests that the iPhone 12 range won't be announced until late October, with the 4G models hitting stores shortly after, while the 5G iPhone 12 models won't go on sale until November. There are some clouds on the release date, but the most leaks suggest October 13 as the expected date.

We are expecting some big changes from Apple this year, including the 5G network support. With 5G networks rolling out in different regions of the world, the iPhone 12 will be more future-proof than its predecessor. The iPhone 12 series display will be starting from a tiny 5.4 inches to big 6.7 inches. The latest A14 Bionic processing chip will be another upgrade in power and will have a positive impact on the battery life too. For the price tag expect $649 / £700 / AU$1,200 or more.

A recent benchmark suggests that A14 Bionic single-core and multi-core performed better than the Snapdragon 865 that was used in almost all Android flagships in 2020. The overall score is also higher than the iPhone 11 pro max. That said, the scores are pretty good, and the iPhone 12 series is to be much faster than many existing flagship smartphones. The iPhone 12 series is also going to have a slight bump in the RAM area and might go from 4GB to 6GB though the standard phone might stick with 4GB. A few leaks suggest that iPhone 12 will not have a bigger number in battery and might rely on the processing chip for the speed. The phone will be using a lighting cable instead of USB-C.

GTA V

AGAIN, Rockstar has delayed the launch of the GTA V for PC to become available on April,14th which is the 3rd time the game studio delays the launch date.

GTA V PC version is already available for pre-order. It was originally set to launch this year on January,27th then it got delayed again to March 24th... and now it's April,14th. We hope no more delays hit the game's release date, it's clearly not an easy ride for PC gamers who are fans of the GTA franchise.

GTA V

Rockstar Games has apologized for the new delay, saying that "a bit more time is needed to ensure that the game is as polished as possible". To calm people down, those who pre-ordered GTA V will receive an additional $200,000 of in-game cash to use in GTA Online.

For the PC version, Rockstar promises some unique enhancements such as greater levels of detail, deep configuration options, Ultra HD support, and the new Rockstar Editor that will let you record and edit original custom videos.

It seems just yesterday that we were all excited about the name which Google would be giving to Android N 7.0, and now it's almost time for Android O 8.0 to be named now! According to reliable sources in the industry, Google will be declaring the name of the next iteration of the Android OS on August 21, although it has probably already been decided. Nevertheless, that will be the date on which that name will be made public and we will finally get to know if Oreo is indeed what Google has decided to go with this year. If you have any guesses, let us know in the comments.

On the other hand, the final version of the OS has been delayed from release for at least a few weeks now. If you are wondering what the reason is for the delay, we have no information on that and neither does anyone else. Nevertheless, it isn't hard to guess that the OS must need some last second ironing. Even then, the delay shouldn't push the release back further than mid-September.

Nexus 9

Bad News for UK Google fans, Amazon UK seems to be facing issues with getting the HTC Nexus 9 in stock, the online retailer has just pushed the Nexus 9 shipping date to December,15th. That's a whole month delay... as the tablet was supposed to be released on November,3rd.

Naturally, the slate is also offered on the Google Play Store. There, it is listed to start shipping on November 3, so the setback seems to be affecting only Amazon UK for now. There's no information if other retailers in the country are going to delay the Nexus 9 or if the problem is affecting other countries.

HTC Nexus 9

Xperia Z4

Even though Sony has little to surprise us with at this point, we're keeping our fingers crossed for an Xperia Z4 announcement eight days before the LG G4 drops. There's a lot to love about Xperia smartphones, and the Z4 is shaping up to be the best one so far with its 5.2-inch high-resolution display, Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3 to 4GB of RAM, 20.7MP main camera, and of course, the signature Sony metal and glass build.

Galaxy Note 4

Our wait is finally over, latest reports from The Korea Times confirms that the Galaxy Note 4 will be announced on September,3rd just before IFA officially begins. IFA 2014 is planned for September 5-10 in Berlin. Also, according to The Korea Times, Samsung is planning to send out media invites "Very Soon".

While IFA has been the general time for the new Galaxy Note announcement, word has it that Samsung is rushing the announcement a bit to make sure it gets a good amount of time in the media machine before Apple announces the new iPhone 6. Of course, the announcement doesn't really give us a clue as to the release window for the device.

Last year, the Galaxy Note 3 was announced September 4th, but not released until September 25th. On the other hand, Apple announced the iPhone 5S on September 10th and released it September 20th. So, jumping the gun on the announcement can only help so much when there's that big of a gap in release.

Major players in the smartphone market like HTC and LG have already started updating their latest and greatest smartphones with Android M. Samsung however, is a little behind the competition in this regard as final stable versions of the update is not yet made available by them. This does not count the optional Android 6.0 beta update which Samsung has released in certain countries for pre-release testing.

The good news is, according to a source named "XTECH LEAKS," the Android M updates are coming not only to 2015 flagships, but also to slightly older flagships of 2014. The three 2014 models that will definitely be updated by Samsung are the S5, the Note 4 and the Note Edge. All major handsets of 2015, namely the S6, the S6 Edge, the S6 Edge+ and the Note 5 will be updated to Android 6.0 first. All of this was deduced from a leaked screenshot that had Samsung's update schedule on it.

If you own a Galaxy Note 5 or a S6 Edge+, you should be particularly happy as these two smartphones will be the first ones to be updated officially by Samsung in February. The S6 and the S6 Edge are next in line and both should get their Marshmallow updates within a few weeks after the first batch. Finally, the 2014 models will see Android 6 by April. Some have even speculated that the updates released by Samsung could be based on the newer Android 6.0.1 as that would somewhat justify the late release. Although the information seems logical, we will let you know more when the news becomes official.
