The Samsung Galaxy Note is the latest HIT for Samsung, Its a phone and a Tablet in one device, According to Daryl Deino, Los Angeles Industry analyst, confirms that this device will certainly come to both Sprint and Verizon. He goes on to mention that it will possibly be named the Samsung Galaxy Journal.

Galaxy NOTE

There is also the fact that there is no CDMA version of the Galaxy Note. It is definitely not impossible to make one, though, and it has been done before. Verizon has mentioned that smartphones will only be released with 4G LTE connectivity from now on. If this rumor happens to be true, we might be able to rock the Galaxy Note on Verizon 4G LTE network.

PR1.2

The expected Nokia N9 PR 1.2 update has completed yet another stage of its evolution and has now started seeding.

Unfortunately, it is still only a developer-preview version, so you would need to be a registered MeeGo developer who owns the N950 developer platform to get it, but the final release should not be too far away now. Normally, it takes a month or a month and a half of testing, before such beta versions graduate.

In an official Samsung video used in their press conference at the event, The Galaxy S III makes a brief appearance, and it carries visible changes from the galaxy S II.

The most noticeable difference is how thin the bezel is much thinner than the one on the S II. We have rumors confirms that the S III will have a next-gen Super AMOLED screen with a 4.6-inch diagonal, which would fit in the frame of the Galaxy S II if Samsung shaves down the bezel. We are still waiting an official Release from Samsung which is probably will be during the MWC2012.

Skype

Not only is a Windows Phone Skype app incoming, but Microsoft will "further integrate" the VoIP service into future versions of its smartphone OS, according to Skype CEO Tony Bates. Details on the nature of the deeper integration are still unclear, though the assumption is that just as Android allows outgoing and incoming calls to be routed over either traditional mobile networks or via VoIP Windows Phone will give users the option to choose the cheapest route for their calls, as well as presumably sync Skype contacts with the handset address book and show presence status.

Skype

Microsoft acquired Skype back in October, at the time promising a "ubiquity of the Skype experience" and reassuring users that "communication across every device and every platform will remain a primary focus." At the time, that was seen as a commitment to maintaining versions of Skype for Mac, Android, iOS and other platforms.

Smart Watch

Smart watches that pair with your phone and let you view and access select functions of your phone seem to be the coolest thing in the world of mobile accessories at the moment. Motorola recently launched the Android-powered MOTOACTV that works as your music player and also logs your workout sessions.

Sony

Like the MOTOACTV, the Sony SmartWatch runs on Android. But unlike Motorola, Sony is letting you download apps on the SmartWatch through the Android Market. Of course, the apps will need to be optimized for the small display, not to mention the limited hardware of the watch. Sony will be releasing an SDK for developers to make appropriate apps to run on the SmartWatch.

Now Sony too has joined the fray with their smart watch called, well, SmartWatch. It has a 1.3-inch multi-touch OLED display that lets you access your phone functions such as calls, messages, music as well as social networking applications such as Twitter and Facebook.

Windows 8 tablet

Windows 8 is shaping up to be the best OS Microsoft has had in years, but limitations around ARM-based tablets and concerns over x86-based model pricing could sour the platform launch later this year. Microsoft has mandated that ARM Windows 8 machines expected to be the bulk of low-cost Windows 8 tablets must have their Secure Boot system locked down, ComputerWorld reports or in order words users must not be allowed to load non-Windows platforms onto ARM hardware.

According to a document titled Windows Hardware Certification Requirements, which Microsoft released last month, the company confirms that it is up to manufacturers as to whether Secure Boot is locked down or not. For x86-powered PCs, notebooks and tablets, OEMs are free to decide which way to leave the settings

Evo 3D

Last week, Sprint rolled out an update to its HTC EVO 3D handset but what many people did not know was the upgrade removed the controversial software Carrier IQ. Before this upgrade, The Now Network was reported to having somewhere north of 26 million devices carrying Carrier IQ, so this maintenance update shrinks that number down some.

Sprint has 15 other devices carrying the diagnostic analysis software and most people do not expect them to remove it from those handsets. Carrier IQ may have gotten a bad rep from all of the negative publicity its received over the last few months.

This sort of a jailbreak solution has been available on A4-powered iDevices but, up until now, it had its ups and downs on the A5-powered iPad 2 and iPhone 4S.

Beats Monster

Ever since Monster and Beats Audio decided to collaborate and get into the headphones business back in 2009 the two have met with incredible success. Most of this was due to some fantastic marketing, helped no doubt by big names like Lady Gaga, P.Diddy, Justin Bieber, LeBron James and the co-founder of Beats Audio, Dr. Dre, along with some excellent designs and an audio signature that was tuned to what most people like to hear instead of what they should be hearing.

After the split, Beats will retain the rights to the technology, design and the brand of the current Beats Audio headphones and will probably create their own separate line of products or perhaps partner with another manufacturer. Monster, on the other hand, already has their own separate line of audio equipment so they are likely to expand that.

Google ICS design

Google has launched the Android Design site, a page of guidelines, design principles, UI best-practice and style shortcuts for developers working with Ice Cream Sandwich. Made up both of guiding principles for apps and interfaces, such as "delight me in surprising ways" and "let me make it mine", as well as the actual building blocks of an Android UI, including tabs, seek bars, switches and spinners, the site marks Googlemost obvious attempt to-date to get all Android coders on the same style-sheet.

Much of what we saw and praised in Ice Cream Sandwich is being put forward as best-practice by Google today. The People hub, new in Android 4.0, is used as an example of using pictures instead of words, while the shift from physical buttons to virtual and the changing context menu is used to push the idea of not overwhelming people with too much at any one time.

Audi

NVIDIA will not limit its Tegra 3 processor to mobile devices like tablets and smartphones (Quad-core CPU) they are going for cars as well. Audi is the first car company that will integrate the powerful processor in its vehicles starting from 2013, with Tegra 3 powering up in-vehicle infotainment systems as well as new digital instrument clusters that replace traditional dashboard gauges. Both systems will utilize Tegra 3 "Visual Computing Modules" (VCMs) which include processors, memory and IO controllers, designed specifically for automotive applications.

The tight integration of these systems with the vehicle, as well as their simple user-interface and realistic graphics, will enable safer, more intuitive driving by providing critical information that can be easily understood with a quick glance.

There is only one problem, by 2013 NVIDIA may launch something even more powerful than the Tegra 3.

Nokia Lumia 900

Two people close to Nokia revealed for New York Times, the Finn manufacturer will introduce a metallic Windows Phone-based smartphone Lumia 900 today at CES 2012.

The Lumia 900 is no secret, since it has leaked numerous times before. The currently available leaked materials show a phone looking exactly like the polycarbonate Lumia 800/N9, so no one thought Nokia might use different body this time.

If the New York times sources are correct though, the upcoming Windows Phone flagship Lumia 900 will be made of metal.

Tizen

We really liked MeeGo OS, but MeeGo now is dead and got replaced with "Tizen", Someone got their hands on the Tizen SDK and snapped several screenshots. Note that they are not from a real device but from an emulator. Still, it is a preview of what we can expect.

Tizen

Tizen

The SDK is supposed to come out in Q1 of 2012, so seeing a preview of it at CES is likely. When the phone will appear is another matter. Anyway, here are the screenshots in question. They can almost be confused for Bada screenshots, with little remaining of MeeGo innovative design.

Tizen I9500

Interestingly, the Tizen SDK reports the browser user agent as Samsung I9500. The odd thing is not that Samsung is working on a Tizen phone, but that the I9xxx line is usually for their flagship Androids I9000 Galaxy S, I9100 Galaxy S II, I9250 Galaxy Nexus. That was rumored before that the I9500 will be the Galaxy S III.

In real life the acquirement of USB 3.0 will increase the data transfer speed of your next device to roughly 800 Mbps. "What takes 15 minutes will roughly take 1 minute and 10 seconds".Now do not expect to see full-sized USB ports on your next smartphone the upgrade should happen in the form of USB 3.0-supporting microUSB ports to meet the demands of thin industrial design.

The 11.91 million yuan suit describes the situation as "total theft", the People Daily reports, with the authors ire raised by Apple 30-percent cut on paid downloads that means the Cupertino firm is actually profiting from the unofficial versions.

According to the writers, attempts to have Apple abide by Chinese laws for copyright certification have been rebuked, and some of the copied texts have been downloaded several million times. 37 works in particular are named in the case, with authors including Han Han, Li Chengpeng and Murong Xuecun, all well-known in China.

LG has previewed its Cinema Screen LCD HDTV design, ahead its official CES launch, slimming the bezel of its big-screen TVs to a mere 1mm as well as using 3D tech to allow two 2D gamers to play at once. The company is describing the new frames as down "to negligible levels" and talking up the similarity between movie theater screens.

LG Smart

As for the twin gamer appeal, that is LG Dual Play: with two gamers each wearing special glasses, they can see a different full-screen view at the same time, rather than sharing a portion of the screen. It is something we have seen before on Sony PlayStation 3D Display, but likely to be considerably bigger on LG sets.

The full sourcecode for Symbian^3 has been released, unofficially, together with the bootloader for Nokia devices running the OS, opening the door to other platforms being installed on the company phones. That means that enterprising hackers could eventually install Android, Windows Phone 7 or other platforms onto Nokia hardware.

Unfortunately that sort of mod is going to take more than just access to the bootloader information in fact it will take a fair amount of code tweaking and modification, certainly if all the various hardware elements of Symbian devices are to be enabled for a different platform. Whether there is anybody left with the time, patience and skillset to do that and, most importantly, for Symbian devices remains to be seen.

Storage Spaces Manager

Microsoft has posted to its Building Windows 8 blog details on the next-gen platform new Storage Spaces feature. Storage Spaces continues the Drive Extender concept from Windows Home Server, allowing the system to pool physical hard drives of various sizes and interfaces to redundantly store data for scale, resiliency, and efficiency.

Storage Spaces

The system works like a RAID setup but the physical hard drives are grouped into a larger storage pool, which is then split up into spaces. The disks in a pool can be of mismatched sizes and of different interface technologies, such as USB, SATA, and Serial Attached SCSI. New disks can be added anytime while others can be connected but kept on standby only to turn on when needed.

Storage Spaces

The spaces are virtual disks that function like the physical disks but has more powerful capabilities to ensure redundancy. At least two copies of all data within a space are stored on at least two different physical drives.

iPad3

Rumors of two iPad launches in a single year have resurfaced, with claims the iPad 3 debut in March will be followed by an iPad 4 with killer applications in October 2012. The usual shady sources in the supply chain have whispered of not only an HD-display toting third-gen Apple tablet expected imminently, DigiTimes reports, but suggested that beyond the 2048 x 1536 screen and longer battery life, "other hardware specifications may not be so amazing as expected." For that, they claim, we will have to wait until Q4 this year.

The iPad 4, as those sources have dubbed it, will stick with the 9.7-inch display size and the higher resolution panel of the iPad 3 but will pair it with "much upgraded hardware specifications and integrated applications." They are designed to better compete with Windows 8 tablets expected in Q3 this year, as well as the new legion of Ice Cream Sandwich Android slates.

Available as a free download, it will understand your question and assist you in areas such as emailing, texting, calling, social network updates, and getting directions. In addition, Ask Ziggy is said to be good for mathematical questions, checking flight status and random trivia.

Angry Seasons
