We all need to know the best practices to stay safe on our mobile devices. Installing a malicious app could have devastating consequences, compromising our personal data and leading to other unwanted outcomes. When you are looking for a safe way to gamble on your mobile device, there are some specific guidelines to follow to ensure you remain protected. Today we take a closer look at how to gamble safely from your iOS or Android phone or tablet.

Ensure that you have the latest OS update

Do you have the latest version of iOS or Android installed on your device? While generally, you'll find that your device automatically updates to the latest version of your operating system software while you are sleeping, in some cases this isn't automatic. You can go into your device settings are check for system updates - downloading and installing the latest version of the software.

Having the latest version of your operating system (iOS or Android) is important because the latest version contains patches for all the most recently discovered security flaws in the system. Security flaws can leave your device open to being tampered with remotely.

Downloading apps outside of the official app stores

One of the first rules of downloading mobile apps is that you should never, ever, ever download apps from app stores other than the official app store from your OS provider. For iOS/Apple, this is the App Store, and for Android, it is the Google Play store. If you install an app from any other source, then you are running a much greater risk of the app that you download being malicious.

The reason for this is that both the iOS and Android app stores vet the submitted apps to the app store before they are available in the store. They check carefully for things like hidden viruses and spyware within the app. If you choose to download from another source, then you have no idea whether they scrutinize the app as carefully. Luckily, both iOS and Android protect against downloading from other sources by default - however this can be changed if you go into your settings and allow it. Just. Don't. Do. It. It is never worth the risk.

Don't use an antivirus

While this may go against your common sense, antivirus programs aren't needed on your mobile devices. So long as you are downloading apps through official channels, i.e. the Apple App Store or Google Play, then an antivirus app isn't necessary and is only going to be a hindrance. So go against your inklings and skip the antivirus.

Antivirus apps on your phone generally just slow things down, get in the way, or may even scrape your data themselves - they are just not worth the headache. Google and Apple do a good job of policing the app store, and keeping the bad guys out. While bad ads can "hijack" your browser, they can't gain access to your phone - and clearing your browser cache or using a different browser should usually do the trick if you are having issues.

Read the app permissions

Do you just blindly click on "OK" any time you got to install an app and it asks for your permission to access X on your phone or tablet? Don't. Do. That. After all, if you are downloading a casino app and it asks for permission to access your microphone, have a real think about why they would need access to your microphone. Would you need to chat with other players during play? Would you need to talk to the tech support people through the app itself, over the phone? We think not. It may just be the case that they are interested in gathering your voice data for some other reason. Nefarious, isn't it?

Of course, there are some apps that require specific permissions that may sound a little bit odd if you read them. For instance, Instagram needs access to your camera - because you are taking pictures through the app. Snapchat needs your microphone because those videos you are recording require sound.

Think carefully before just accepting all those permissions... Think about whether the app really needs access to your location, your microphone, your camera, your messages, your contacts... If the answer is no, then you might not want to download the app.

Read the third party login permissions

Many gambling apps and websites also offer you a streamlined login through one of your other accounts - maybe your Google account, your Twitter account, or your Facebook account. Once you click to sign up through this third party service it will also ask for permissions related to that account. For instance, if you are signing in through Facebook, it might ask for your contact details and your friends list. Does the app really need access to your friends list?

With these third party login permissions, you often have the chance to veto what the app has access to. The only truly required permission will be access to your public contact/profile info. The other permissions that it asks for can usually be deselected - so they won't have access to it.

The easiest way to stay safe

The easiest way to stay safe by gambling on your mobile phone is by not downloading any apps at all. "But I want to game!", you cry. Hey, don't worry, you can still gamble from your mobile device without having to download specific apps! Instead of using apps, you have the option of gaming through your device's web browser. This may be an inbuilt web browser on your device, or Safari on iOS products, or Chrome on Android products.

Using your web browser, you can head to any gambling sites on your mobile device that you would be able to access from your laptop or desktop machine. These gambling sites are generally fully interactive and responsive - meaning they have been altered specifically to allow you to play from your mobile device. You will have a range of different games to play, with play suited specifically for your mobile device and without having to download a specific app to play. There are sites offering cutting edge slots for free, full feature live casinos, and sports betting, all available without having to leave your browser. Welcome to the future, baby!

It's relatively easy to stay safe when you are gambling on your mobile device - generally safer than gambling on your laptop or desktop computer. The way that both Apple and Google have designed their app stores means that your mobile device is far less at risk of becoming compromised than your computer.

General online safety rules apply when using your mobile device for gaming - make sure that your phone or tablet has a home screen lock that is password or fingerprint protected, don't tell anyone your logins or passwords, choose secure passwords that can't be easily guessed, wipe your device memory before reselling or disposing of it (and remote wipe it if you accidentally lose the device or it is stolen), and clean out your mobile device regularly to ensure it only has what you need on it. Safety is the word when it comes to tech devices, and when you follow the right safety strategies you'll ensure that all your data remains safe and your device doesn't end up getting hijacked by attackers.

Online casinos have made it quite easier for the players to indulge in their favourite online casino games. Gone are the days when people had to dedicate specific time to play their favourite games. This can now be done no matter where you are and no matter when you want to play.

An estimated 55.7% of Americans played games on their mobile phones in 2016, and that number is expected to rise to 58.9% for 2017. As such, it's no surprise that more and more titles are being churned out daily. And as much as we love our games, we love them even more when they cost us nothing! For you Android aficionados, here's a helpful list of five great games you can play on your handheld that are all free (with in-app purchases).

By now, most of us are well aware of the Pokémon GO phenomenon. The game became the most popular mobile title of all time in July of 2016, reaching 21 million active users (the prior record holder was Candy Crush Saga, which boasted 20 million active users in 2013). With such immense initial success, it comes as no surprise that the fervor over Pokémon GO has since toned down a bit; but the game is still a winner, particularly given the free price tag. For those of you who have been living under a rock for the past year, the objective of Pokémon GO is to "catch" Pokémon by exploring the real world to locate them. New upgrades include the addition of "legendary" Pokémon and raid battles. The game is constantly evolving and is well worth a try, even if it's just to see what all the fuss is about.

Ever since the release of popular titles like Pole Position and Outrun back in the 80s, we have always been fascinated with racing games. Rather than becoming stale, this gaming genre continues to change with the times. Two great racing games that you can enjoy gratis are Asphalt Xtreme and Asphalt 8: Airborne, both created by Gameloft. If you can tolerate their assertive in-app purchase strategy, then both titles are quite enjoyable. Released just last year, Asphalt Xtreme puts you behind the wheel of an off-road machine and gives you the opportunity to unlock additional vehicles. It includes an online multiplayer mode and offers you many courses to race through. Asphalt 8: Airborne has been around since 2013, but it has a massive amount of content for you to experience. Like Xtreme, it also offers an online multiplayer option, as well as additional activities for you to enjoy.

If you like first-person shooters, you should check out Critical Ops. In a variety of urban-style settings, you can either battle against or play the game as a rebel yourself. Critical Ops has a substantial online multiplayer following, so feel free to invite your gamer friends to play against you. The programmers are still working out some of the kinks, but they update the game regularly. While it's still a work in progress, it's still a quality title at "the right price".

Famous for creating Clash of Clans, Supercell has most recently released Clash Royale, which you can play as an alternative to Hearthstone. The game allows you to build decks, collect cards and engage in individual battles with online challenges. You'll be given many opportunities to unlock new cards, and you can also form clans to share cards. You will also earn trophies when victorious, but you'll also lose them when you've been vanquished.

Lastly, if you're in the mood for a brainy, creative strategy game, then look no further. Your goal in Plague, Inc. is to mutate diseases with the sole purpose of infecting the earth's populace. You're given multiple viruses to consider unleashing, each with their own outbreak characteristics. One special feature of Plague, Inc. is that it gives you the option of saving multiple games so that you can play several iterations at once. The game's infection simulations are so realistic that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention invited the developers to be guest speakers at their headquarters.

We fully expect our list of free Android favorites to fluctuate from time to time as more games enter the market. We're also looking forward to more of our favorite online games (like Super Rally Extreme, Power Up and Traffic Slam 3) being made available on the mobile Android platform. One thing that the Android faithful know for sure is that the best free titles are yet to come!

The highly rumored Razer Phone is finally here, but is it really the ultimate gaming machine on the go that you were waiting for? Check out the specs below and decide for yourself!

5.72 inch-LCD display, 120hz refresh rate, 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution (515 ppi)

Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC

8GB of RAM

64GB internal storage with expandable card slot

Dual 12-megapixel cameras on the back (telephoto + wide angle)

8-megapixel front camera

4,000mAh battery

Android Nougat 7.1.1

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, and NFC, fingerprint sensor in the power button

No audio jack but THX certified 3.5mm to USB-C DAC adapter included

Available for $699 from November 17

In my personal opinion, I am a bit disappointed to see the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 SoC powering the Razer Phone. Granted that it is still the most powerful Android chip, it's not even comparable with the Apple 10X Fusion chip on the iPad Pro and certainly not the latest A11 Bionic powering the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and iPhone X when it comes to computing power. It would have been nice to see the Razer Phone debut with something special to offer, other than just the brand name!

See who have managed to receive the highest Jackpot payouts from online slots. Find out whether they manage to maintain their wealth.

Gambling has won people money. Huge sums of money. Punters have gone from a state of poverty to riches with just one round of play, or a few rounds. Lives have been transformed. Or have they? The truth is, even with the one in a million chances of winning a jackpot, or huge prizes from gambling, there are people that have won money. Large sums of money. And these people's lives have not been the same ever since.

While all online gambling games can give you victory, including table games like the roulette for real money cash, most wins have been from the slots. The focus here will be on largest jackpots ever won from playing slots. There is proof that there are real-life gambling successes. Here are a few.

Online Slot Jackpot Winners

This will probably make sense if we start from the 10th highest slot jackpot and climax with the highest jackpot ever won. So here we go;

10. €6,945,045

This jackpot was won on the 8th April 2016, by an anonymous young man in New Zealand. The jackpot was won after a game of the Dark Knight by Microgaming. The actual amount that was won was AU$10,423,223.

9. €7,437,182

Nicknamed Wellzy, won this amount after a game of Mega Fortune on BGO Online Casino. Although he chose to remain anonymous, Wellzy, a citizen of the UK was in the Guinness Book of World Records as the highest amount ever won from an online slot for a while.

8. €7,673,975

A Swedish lady was only going by the initials L.G. (Life's Good, maybe) played a game of Hall of Gods by Net Entertainment on a regular day in November of 2012. That day would change her life forever after she won the jackpot worth €7.6 million. This Norse mythological themed slot would see L.G. relocate to Thailand with her family and bought a house and a car.

7. €7,896,857

Rawiri Pou will live to remember June 17th, 2016, the Friday; he became an instant sensation when he won NZ$10,143,123 over a game of Mega Moolah on Casinoland.com. Hopefully, he is still living his best life, yet, since then.

6. €7,968,311

D.P. another female punter was playing her Mega Moolah on the Zodiac casino on her her phone. Next thing she saw was a notification of her tremendous win of an amount she probably only dreamt of if she was that ambitious. This amount goes on record as the highest ever won while playing on a mobile device, her iPad. D.P. chose to remain anonymous, and we wish her the best life as she goes about spending the grand moolah.

5. €8,437,742

November, 5th 2016, Mr. Marcus Goodwin, a Canadian, was playing Mega Moolah on YakoCasino. Goodwin would get a good win from his game and his life, and that of his family changed forever, or so we hope.

4. €8,577,104

The 8th of November, 2015, was probably just another ordinary, maybe even boring, day for one Alexander. The player from Sweden decided to indulge in some online gaming to kill the boredom, hoping for the usual small wins and losses. Lady luck decided, why not visit Alexander, today? And Alexander would end up €8,577,104 richer. The player has remained low-key since his win. We sure hope the money was put to good use.

3. €11,700,000

Betsson.com casino produced a winner on September 24th, 2011. A young Norwegian man would play the Mega Fortune slot on that day and join the list of young millionaires.

2. €17,860,868

A Finnish 40-year-old man decided to play a few games on the PFO Casino to pass time, perhaps entertain himself. Placing 25 cents bets on Mega Fortune, another slot courtesy of Microgaming. A few spins later, this punter, who opted to remain anonymous, would hold a place in the Guinness Book of World records for his close to 20 million jackpot win. And another person was an instant millionaire!

€17,879,645

This amount was won by a Corporal of the United Kingdom becoming a world record holder and is listed in the Guinness Book of World records. Jonathan Heywood won this amount on October, 6th, 2015 after a game of Mega Moolah, one of the largest progressive jackpots there is.  The game was played on the Betway online Casino. This still remains the highest jackpot ever won. Heywood played with a ₤30  placing 25p per spin and a few spins later, the 25-year-old (then) was an instant millionaire.

Downside to Instant Riches

There is a trend that you have probably noticed already. The people that have worked hard to become millionaires or billionaires usually maintain that status quo over the years. If anything, their wealth keeps increasing. They know the pain of starting something from nothing and growing it into something. Because of the lessons they have accrued as they started their business, they are keen on how they spend their money. If they splurge, at least they have measures in place to make the money grow.

This, however, is not the case with overnight winners. Most punters receive the money and want to do everything, literally. The good, and the vices. In the end, the only show of wealth for some of these people is recorded information in the media, the internet, and the casinos they won at. Okay, it is not every one of them, yes. Some go on to successfully invest their wins and are living better lives, but others manage to successfully squander millions on alcohol, drugs and partying.

There are hundreds of other huge jackpot wins besides those Illustrated here. This goes to show that gambling can lead to some great success stories. Importantly is, however, how to use the win. It's always important to hire a financial manager to avoid ending up bankrupt, or in a state worse than the one you were in before your "golden handshake."

Online casinos, no matter what the platform, are a multi trillion pound business. There are millions of people around the world who log on to online casino sites on a regular basis to play their favourite games such as blackjack, poker, roulette and the slots. The fact that there are so many online casino operators out there means that they are only going to continue to grow in popularity too, especially now that people have the option to play on various devices whenever they wish.

There's no denying that the internet changed the casino world, and for the better too. You can't deny the industry hasn't continued to move with the times and this is probably the main reason it has been consistently successful. First of all, when the Internet first arrived, we saw people playing at online casinos via their desktop computers. This was done either in browser or by downloading the casino's software to the PC. Nowadays, the trends suggest that more and more people are opting to play on their smartphones and tablets, rather than their desktops or laptops.

Online casino operators practically encourage it too and this has been a growing trend for a number of years. Due to the advancements made in technology, smartphones and tablets have become more and more powerful, especially recently. They were always tipped to be mini computers, but now the lines between an actual desktop and a top of the range smart phone are becoming more and more blurred. Some smartphones and tablets actually have more power than a computer believe it or not. So a growing trend is that operators are looking to encourage users to play on the go so to speak.

It's common place for online casinos to offer their new customers bonuses and to do promotions on a regular basis. Usually these are based on the first few deposits made as in matched deposits and then loyalty points are accrued over time. A trend we're seeing now is that not only have online casino operators shelled out for the development of apps for both iOS and Android, but they're offering separate bonuses and incentives to get people to sign up and play; regardless of whether the user already visits via a desktop. So this shows that the operators themselves have been instrumental in the growing trend that has seen so many people preferring to gamble on the go rather than play via a desktop computer.

The most visited online casinos tend to be those that are operated by the biggest names in sports betting really, especially when it comes to UK users. The fact that Google Play have now started to allow gambling apps back into their store after a 4 year absence, will only serve to make gaming and gambling on the go even more popular. Smartphones and tablets are still playing catch up when it comes to desktops, but they're beginning to close the gap and it won't be too long before they take an even bigger share of the casino market.

The smartphone saw a leap in technology with the release of the very first iPhone in 2007, bringing new expertise and of course, putting out apps into mainstream use. They litter the screens of smartphones everywhere, drumming up a whole variety of personalised content. Of course, apps are mostly about social media and gaming, but even in this a corporate mind is working away somewhere. At last, apps have taken significant strides in the world of business.

Before technology, every business was a brick and mortar, with no knowledge in saving time and thus costs by digital means. Accordingly, apps offer an opportunity to heighten corporate efficiency, with work now possible at the press of a screen or click of a button. We have listed some ways in which apps can creatively cut corners in corporate life.

Streamlined Target Audience

Businesses used to reach their target audiences by depending largely on newspaper and television adverts. However, with a decline in both of these things usage, firms must find a new way to reach their market, paying close attention to the time of the consumer and the appeal of their marketing.

Apps are the perfect answer to this need. Collectively, they take up a lot of space on any kind of hardware, eventually clogging up the memory of the finest phones or systems. Consequently, no one downloads an app they don't want, need or find essential to their day-to-to-day life. Ultimately, this presents a great opportunity moving forward, creating a compact eye-catching representation of a business that can be accessed anytime and anywhere.

Quick Online Payments

Tedious transactions and lengthy cheque waits used be the downsides of dealing in business. Never uncommon, firms faced excruciating circumstances that eventually resulted in a delayed payment. Of course, these problems still haven't entirely vanished today for small firms either.

The app once again saves the day here, allowing instantaneous payments straight from the pocket. It's a tool that eliminates excuses and declines delays, pushing every business process along in a timelier and more trust worthy manner. Ultimately, the cash flow can run a little smoother with this technology, something that would draw in any business immediately.

A Direct Line to the Competitors

When competing in any market or economy, companies can face constant anxiety. Who are their competitors? Are they better than us? If so, how? Subsequently, they'd pour over endless documents and paperwork to examine themselves against their competition, as well as conducting surveys to find their faults.

However, apps offer a direct line straight into the competitor's arena. From their Facebook page, Twitter profile, their personalised apps or even apps that display and analyse financial markets, there is a whole world of information within apps that can be used for research. After all, apps are information if nothing else, storing so much data that is simply too detailed to ignore. It's all there.

Online casino games are covering many people through its accessibility and amazing features which are not available in the land-based casinos. The UK's casinos like Jackpot Mobile Casino are providing the online casino games which are compatible with various gadgets such as desktops, laptops, tablets, mobile phones and so on. We have listed some of the gadgets which are great in supporting casino games:

Personal Computer

Online casino games started its journey from desktop computers. This was the time when thousands of themes came into existence. Graphics and animations made its way to the casino games and changed the appearance of the casino. Desktops allowed the players to access the casino anytime as they wish. Also, the live chat option allowed the players to compete with other players from all over the world. This made the game more challenging and interesting.

Mobile Phones

Mobile phones have revolutionized the lives of the people. It has almost become one of an integral part of our life. The number of people accessing mobile casino games online is increasing day by day. The hardware's of mobile phones are improving at an exponential scale. They provide more flexibility and comfortability. It allows the players to access their favourite casinos right from where they are at any time.

Tablets

Tablets offer almost the same feature as the mobile phones except for the bigger screen ratio. Tablets provide bigger screen sizes than mobile phones. This allowed casino players to cherish even the minute details of the casino games. Bigger screens helped people of different ages to play casino games without any difficulty. Also, bigger screens delivered better impact on the players. Casinos such as Jackpot Mobile Casino offer online casino games which work flawlessly on tablets too.

Smartwatches

The number of companies involved in smartwatch technology is increasing because of the increasing demand in the market. Apple recently released its Apple watch series 3 which has an independent cellular data connection. This allows the players to use internet on the smartphone without using the phone. In future, this could pave the way for smartwatch casino.

Gaming Consoles

Gaming consoles are no more a thing of past. They are being revived in recent times with advanced features and elements. These handheld gaming consoles are also portable and are more efficient in gaming. Since these are specially made for gaming purpose they deliver better gaming experience when compared to most of the other devices.

In future, there could be a gaming console specifically made for casino gaming. This could bring back the old days where gaming consoles were the most used devices for gaming purposes. Gaming consoles aren't limited to handheld gaming consoles. PlayStation and Xbox also come under the category of gaming consoles. Though there is a debate in which is better, for a long time both are capable of handling high graphics games and are also equipped with hardware which can support intense gaming.

It is quite hard to predict the devices of the future. Since the casino market is expanding we can expect new gadgets which will support online casino games with ease.

Mobile online casinos are nothing new, they still represent undiscovered territory for online players which should not be the case. Just like playing on any online betting site, mobile betting platforms are not anything different, on the contrary, they are usually the same just designed to fit smaller screens of portable devices and even provide players with extras.

Play Via Favorite Device

Just like any online gaming site, mobile casinos will usually have the same or a similar layout designed to fit smaller screens of tablets and phones. This also includes cutting away usage of external devices as keyboard, mouse or a touchpad are not needed in this case. It is already all there built in your portable device as it is. With mobile casinos, it is now possible to bet, raise, fold, check, double up or split just using your touchscreen and the software keyboard on the mobile gadget.

Mobile players have the opportunity to deposit through mobile (SMS) billing.
  • Notifications. Players get noted through email, SMS or pop-up notifications when there is a new bonus available. Just like regular online gaming sites with deposit bonuses, welcome promotions, reload bonuses and others, it's all there at mobile gaming sites as well.

Mobile Game Availability

Mobile casinos are already far spread and can be visited by any portable device, be it a phone or a tablet, all you need is a smart device and an internet connection and you are good to go. For passionate online gamblers, there is no need to be tied to your home private computer or dragging your laptop everywhere around whenever you want to play a few hands of your favorite card game, poker, blackjack, baccarat or other. With mobile casinos, you now have full access to your favorite games wherever and whenever you want it. Although most of the mobile gaming sites are available on all platforms, users should check compatibility of the mobile gaming apps they download, whether on Windows Phone, Apple, Blackberry, Android, etc. With Android gadgets, it should be the easiest since its users can open any web page through their web browser just like on a PC or a laptop.

Card Mobile Games

Playing card games have never been easier. While a hand of poker is ongoing you have a full view of everything happening at the virtual table. In the center of players gadget screen everything can be seen, from stack sizes, pot value, number of players in the hand, button position, just like sitting at the real poker table. Most mobile apps will have play buttons at the bottom of the screen below the table. Fold, Call and Raise controls are there at one touch of a finger. If gamers wish to increase their raise there is a scale for that. For not so lazy users or the ones that want to, for an example, three-bet a specific amount, one tap on the value of the raise will bring out the mobile keyboard to type in the exact raise amount. At the top of the screen, gamers have access to app settings, lobby button to go back to the app main menu, hand history etc. This is the usual layout of a mobile poker table and can differ from app to app. Everything users want or need to control is there with a simple touch of a screen. The same can be said for blackjack, baccarat and other table games. Mobile Blackjack layout is same as a real blackjack table that fits the portable accessory screen from edge to edge, corner to corner. Specific chip values are offered to gamers to measure their bets precisely by pressing different values and then the bet button at the bottom of the screen. Stand, Split or Hit controls are also there making it really easy to play the 21 game.

One Step Forward

With mobile gaming, there is no more need to sit at the work table and operate the PC or carry around a much heavier laptop compared to any portable device such as a tablet, phone, blackberry. Players can now sit back in the comfy sofa at home and play. Going through a really long trip and want to kill some time? Mobile gaming works outside just fine. Developer's effort to make online gaming sites suitable for portable gadgets result in a much more user-friendly environment. Mobile gambling is the next step forward for online gambling sites.

Mobile gaming keeps growing in popularity every day, including when it comes to casino games, so it's no surprise that all the new titles are launched on all platforms, from stationary computers to smartphones and tablets. Combined, consoles and PC still hold a slight lead, but mobile holds a solid 42% of the gaming market in 2017.

In fact, the massive popularity of mobile gaming has directly influenced the casino industry and expanded the types of games they offer. Nowadays you will find many more innovative mobile casino games than ever and many are even inspired directly by games that were first popularized by smartphones. While the real way to play is with real money, you can also play many of these mobile casino games for free. Several online casinos, such as InstaCasino, offer you to play either way.

Live Casino

Playing online has loads of advantages, such as the convenience of being able to play anytime, anywhere. However, some players prefer the social aspects of gaming and would like to stare their dealer in the eye. This is exactly what live mobile casinos offer and while they've been around for a few years by now, they really have improved a lot lately. All the table games you'd expect are available, with HD streams and more.

Joker Pro

The very first slot machines were bulky things with various fruits as the symbols on the wheels. By now, they've become so iconic that endless online video slots try to capture that magic. Joker Pro is one of the slickest and most popular takes on this idea, with flashy graphics and satisfying sound effects. Nothing fancy or complicated - just fun.

Fruit Blast

If you have played games like Candy Crush, then you'll likely enjoy the slot machine Fruit Blast from Microgaming. It combines the fun and satisfaction of smashing colorful edibles with the excitement of a casino game. The setting is a tiki bar on a tropical beach, where different bartenders will offer you different bonuses, along with constant sunshine.

Jewel Quest Riches

This slot game is very similar to the one above - your goal is to line up various rare gems. Match three or more and new ones fall from the top. However, when you get three or more of the bonus symbol, you are transported to a different version of the game, where you carefully must select one move at a time. Very few games of its type involve as much skill and strategy.

Gonzo's Quest VR

Gonzo's Quest was already one of the most popular slot machines in existence, and now it's also the first ever casino game that fully takes place in virtual reality - Mobile VR. This time, you are actually in the jungle where the game takes place, alongside Gonzo himself, with the board floating in front of your eyes. Expect this side of gaming to grow a lot in the near future.

Do you remember the movie called National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation, when the gaming fever consumed Chevy Chase's impersonation of Clark W. Griswold? He went on a losing streak, to defeat all losing streaks and in the meantime, his son Rusty won four cars by playing on slot machines. Perhaps Clark might have done better if he had read this article. Here, you will discover the fundamental ideas behind slots and how they work. This will let you get past all the myths and create a strategy that is entirely based on probability.

Understand the Average Payout

When operators advertise that their slots payout an average of 90%, the fine print they do not want you to read states that you lose 10 cents for every dollar you place in the machines. In terms of probability, this endorsement means that your expected wins are minus 10 cents on each dollar that you spend.

Suppose that you start with $100 and wager one dollar at a time. After you insert $100 into the slot machine, 100 pulls later you will end up with $90 on average since you lose 10% of your funds.

If you run the $90 back into the machine, you will end up with 90% of it back. Or in other words 0.90x 90 = $81. Moreover, if you run that through, you will have approximately $72.90. If you do not stop for about 44 rounds more, all your money will be gone, unless you have Rusty's luck.

So, how many pulls at this rate do your $100 give you? Each time you will have less money to play through, so you will have less pulls left. For instance, if you play $1 at a time, you can expect approximately 972 pulls with the average payouts. This is the total pulls in about 44 rounds. However, you should keep in mind that operators are designing slots to go faster between spins. Some of them are even doing away with the tokens and handles by using digital readouts on the cards that you place in the slots. The faster machines can play about 25 spins per hour, and if you have money for 972 spins, you will have 38.88 minutes. Thus, you will not have a long time to enjoy your $100 before it is gone. So, what is the worst part here? Casinos often boast that their average payouts are as high as 95%. However, this number only applies to specific machines, and the casinos will not tell you which ones. So, you need to ask or read the fine print before you rush into playing. Another thing you can do is check the information on the slot to see if it lists its payouts.

You're probably wondering if the same works for online slots. The answer is yes. However, the percentages are usually higher, since sites have less expenses than land based operators. That is why every day, gamblers all around the world are discovering new slot websites where they can play the popular game.

How to Implement a Simple Strategy for Slots?

Advice varies regarding if you play nickel, quarter or dollar slots and if you should max the number of coins you wager or not. In this section, we will give you several tips on getting the most bang for your money.

When it comes to slots, strategy boils down to knowing your probability of winning, the expected payouts, and the rules, quitting while you are ahead and dispelling any myths.
If you win $100, you should cash out half and play with the rest. After you lose a particular amount, you should not hesitate to quit. You should go to the all you can eat buffet and try your luck with the food, the odds are that it is good.

How Many Coins Should You Play at a Time?

When you are determining the number of coins you should bet per spin, you should scrutinize that more can be better. If the slot gives you more than 2x the payout when you place in 2x the coins, you should max out instead of playing only one coin. This way you will enhance your chances of winning a larger pot, and the expected value will be higher. If the machine just gives you n times the payout for n coins, it will not matter if you use the max number of coins or not. You might as well play 1 at a time until you can make money and leave so your money lasts longer.

For example, if a quarter machine pays you 10 credits for the 777 outcome when you place one quarter. However, if you play 2 quarters, it will give you 25 credits. And if you play the max number of quarters, for example four, the same outcome will result in 1,000 credits. You can see how playing four quarters at once will give you a greater chance of winning a larger pot in the long run compared to a single one at a time for four tries in a row.

As mobile gaming ages and creates a vast library of exclusive games for itself, it also borrows plenty of classic titles that originated on consoles or computers. Secret of Mana, Grand Theft Auto, Crazy Taxi Classic and Bully are just a few of the old gems you can download onto your phone, but even with all of the games that have made the transition, there's still a few that we'd like to see as an app and we haven't yet.

Let's take a second to look at these entries and talk about what makes them worthy choices.

Shadow of the Colossus (PS2)

Widely regarded as one of the best games of all time and certainly the best out of the three titles developed by Team Ico, Shadow of the Colossus definitely needs to make its first handheld appearance. With the E3 2017 announcement that there will be a SotC remake in 2018, it only seems appropriate to make a port for phones so that people can slay on the go.

With the dynamic gameplay of climbing up colossi opened up to touch screen, we might see some interesting changes to the classic controls - such as swiping up to scale a monster's back and double tapping the screen to plunge your sword into the beast's weak point. Although the final fight did suffer from serious frame dropping, the problem was virtually fixed in the PS3 port - a blueprint that developers should be sure to use when building the game for iOS and Android.

Grabbed by the Ghoulies (Xbox)

From the same people who brought you GoldenEye 007 and Banjo & Kazooie comes Grabbed by the Ghoulies. The whimsical horror game has the player taking on hordes of Halloween baddies as they traverse a haunted mansion in search of the main character's girlfriend. While the game received mixed reviews upon its release, it was eventually re-released in the Rare Replay bundle for Xbox One, and has even gone on to inspire similar titles such as Grave Grabbers https://www.slots.io, a five-reel, 20-payline slot game that borrows heavily from the comedic and animated horror themes featured in Rare's classic.

Grabbed by the Ghoulies also features a soundtrack by legendary video game composer Grant Kirkhope, the same man who created the highly regarded Donkey Kong Country series soundtracks. And with the recent boost in augmented reality games, thanks to Pokemon Go, Grabbed by the Ghoulies can take advantage of the same technology to bring the monster mashing madness right into your home.

Super Mario Kart (SNES)

Since Nintendo has finally gotten with the times and started releasing app games, there's a whole slew of old gems that need releasing on the phone, but none more deserving that Super Mario Kart, a franchise that has sold 90.50 million copies worldwide according to vgchartz.com. With an added online multiplayer mode where people could play with others in their proximity and the addition of tilt controls similar to the Wiimote, Super Mario Kart could be modernized for a whole new generation of gamers.

Although Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 7 are already available portable titles, not everyone owns a system to play them on. However, practically everyone owns a phone. Before we know it, we could be back in the '90s playing the first ever released Mario Kart online off of our phones. Now that's a nostalgia overload.

Regardless of what games are released for phones, the mobile gaming industry will be stronger than ever. It would just help for more console-based gamers to have familiar options at their fingertips in an age where our phones are on us nearly every passing moment of the day. If technology really is going to be the downfall of mankind, the least we can do is make it fun for everyone.

Bingo has been around for decades now and although the Bingo Hall's popularity isn't what it used to be before 2005, it continues to remain one of the most popular games online. On that note, let's now take a look at the two versions of bingo that are the most popular and can be played from any laptop, tablet or smartphone.

75 Ball

This is the version where the grid is 5 x 5 and with the exception of the one in the middle, every one of the remaining 24 squares has a number in it. The central square is free for all. The player who manages to match all the numbers in a line first wins the Line 1 prize and this goes on till Line 5. These lines can be vertical, horizontal or even diagonal.

90 Ball

This one is more popular than the 75 ball bingo in the UK and it's just as popular online today, as it was twelve years ago inside the Bingo Halls. All the tickets have three row and nine columns so the games are much longer than the 75 Ball version. Apart from the Full House prize, there are two other prizes to be won here, namely the Line 1 and the Line 2 prizes. As one can imagine, the Full house prize is usually the biggest one and to win it, you will need to check off all the numbers on your ticket. It's fairly easy and uncomplicated to start with.

Can You Win Real Money in Online Bingo?

As it turns out, you can win real money with online bingo and it's not that difficult either, but you will need a bit of luck and some strategies to increase your chances. In case you are new, don't worry about it, because most reputed bingo mobile sites give plenty of free chances and bonuses to their new players so that they can get used to the feel of how things work.

World's First Game on Feature Phones

It seems like every year we hear that mobile gaming will take over all forms of games and will reign supreme. While this isn't likely to happen, one thing we do know though is that it fuels a lot of people's entertainment, makes huge levels of cash for the industry, and provides innovation that pushes games to new levels.

The rise of mobile gaming has been impressive to say the least. Ever since people played Snake on their old Nokia phones, the potential has been there for the handheld device to offer more to gamers. With the improvements of technology and the rise of both iOS and Android, the rise of the app and most importantly gaming apps have taken hold and we are in the age of mobile gaming.

Mobile gaming is now a billion-dollar industry, and has shaped a new model of the way people pay for games. There are a lot of games now that are "Freemium" games, allowing the player to download and play for free, before adding money into the game when they needed it. The key of course is that it is purely the gamers choice whether to add more money into the game with in-game transactions. The thing is though, this idea works.

If the game is good enough to hook the players, it seems that they are more than willing to make in-game purchases to add to the fun they are experiencing. Many in the industry are noticing the potential for profit here, and that in turn fuels the creation of better and more entertaining games that will in turn make more money that can then be put into the production and evolution of games.

This is what fuels gaming today, and the fact that mobile devices can also be used for both virtual and augmented reality show that these devices are still at the forefront of gaming innovation. Just looking at Pokémon Go as an example, you can see just where the technology in the phone is now taking the player, and that is into an even more mobile world.

Mobile gaming on devices has given the players unrestricted access to games while on the movie. Whether it is playing a game like Candy Crush Saga or one of its clones, or even playing roulette on a UK mobile casino while on their dinner breaks, the players are doing so on the movie. It is this flexibility in mobile gaming that is fueling the success of it, and changing the way we game.

While mobile gaming may not take over the world of gaming as we know it, it now has its fair share of the market, and is here to stay. Gaming is hugely popular now in all forms, that includes mobile gaming, and there is one thing for sure, this is a very good time to be a gamer, never have we had such a choice of ways to game as we do now.

Mobile phones have come so far from the days of the Nokia 3310 that it almost seems unbelievable today. A concept like that of say the Galaxy S8 would have seemed like fan-fiction even a decade ago, but today it's a reality. Modern smartphones are essentially portable computers capable of doing most of the everyday tasks that was previously only possible for a PC or a Mac, and gaming is one of those things. Sure, the games are definitely not as hardcore or graphically intense as the ones designed for a console or a PC, but that's the beauty of it; they don't have to be. They are popular because they are relatively simple and you don't need a super-expensive and power-hungry PC/console and monitor/big screen TV combo to play them.

Expected Growth

If you had any doubts regarding how popular gaming on mobile phones has become, then consider the following statistics to clear those doubts for good.

• By the end of 2017, the gaming industry as a whole will reach a total worth of $108.9 billion
• Mobile games will account for 42% of that total market value by reaching $46.1 billion
• The stats will reflect a remarkable 19% YOY growth for the mobile gaming industry
• The share of the mobile gaming business could surpass 50% of the gaming industry's total worth by the year 2020

What is Fuelling this Rapid Growth?

There are so many factors contributing directly to this swift growth of the mobile gaming industry that it would be easier to explain if they were separated in specific points.

Mobiles are Cheaper

The Android revolution has made mobiles cheaper and since last year, even the most basic $100 phones have started to provide decent and playable gaming performances; something that was unthinkable even in 2014 or early 2015. Additionally, even a flagship smartphone like the Galaxy S8+ or the iPhone 7 Plus is significantly cheaper than a high-end gaming PC. You can argue that a console is cheaper but then you would have to consider the fact that they are typically gaming-only devices, while a smartphone is a portable console, a camera, a phone and so much more.

The Perfect Platform for Online Gamblers

Games like Sizzling Hot are extremely popular among online gamblers and a smartphone allows them to play all of their favorite slot and card games from anywhere in the world. In fact, most online casinos even have dedicated Android and iOS apps to make the experience even smoother for their patrons.

Wider Reach

Everybody has a smartphone now and that's one of the most important reasons as to why mobile gaming is the future. It is so much easier for app developers to reach their customers for that specific reason. Paying for apps, games, bets and in-app purchases are also much easier to do on the phone and surveys have confirmed that people prefer it that way.

Finally, we come to the last reason and that's not only related to the rise of the mobile gaming industry but it is also one of the premier causes responsible for the ever-increasing popularity of the smartphones themselves. They are just so much more comfortable to use than laptops or desktops! You can play games for hours on a phone while travelling or lying on the bed. As mobile phones continue to become more and more advanced with each passing year, they are more than likely to establish themselves as the future standard for portable gaming.

For a fact, with the advent of Internet gambling, there has been a plethora of great benefits. For instance, there is the convenience of relishing in the games from the comfort of your home without the constraints of additional expenses, running the gamut from food, traveling as well as accommodation. Well, the mobile gaming industry certainly fits the bill, down to a niche.
As is the case with every new revolution, the field of mobile gaming is no exception, and therefore, it has its fair share of pros and cons, which we will delve into in depth. A coterie of the top notch mobile gaming platforms includes Pocket Win, Vegas Mobile Casino, and Pocket Fruity, among others.

Simplicity and Convenience

As you know, this is indeed one of the most obvious benefits of mobile gaming. Players can quickly and conveniently make their deposits to the mobile casino of their choice. With a single click on their mobile gadgets, the transfer of funds occurs immediately into their accounts. Nevertheless, there is always risk involved when conducting financial transactions via the Internet, but there is no doubt that the benefits far out way the disadvantages.

In addition to that, the infinite mobile gaming websites such as www.slotozilla.com are easily downloadable, entail simple installation and more so have incredibly minimal system conditions. In turn, these pulling factors indeed go a long way in the skyrocketing of their popularity.

The Pros

• Automatic Access to Funds

The fact that signing up with a mobile casino translates to you gaining access to your funds, automatically wins points over the traditional methods of accessing your bank balance. As such, there is no waiting time for the processing of your money, which carves an ear to ear smile on your face. Hence, money transactions are completed in a span of seconds to a few minutes thereby allowing you to proceed with your favorite games.

• A Wide Array of Games

As a gambler, you have the option of partaking in the games that tickle your fancy, without the hassle of waiting your turn, as is the case in the traditional brick and mortar casino. Thus, running the gamut from Blackjack, Poker, Roulette, Baccarat, Keno, Bingo and free mobile slots, you have the luxury of pinning down the game which catches your eye. Furthermore, you can take breaks from the games and resume playing as you please.

The crop of games has remarkable features such as incredible graphics, bonus rounds, sound effects, and easy-to-use interfaces, which make them quite thrilling to play.

• Broader Stake Levels

The copiousness of casinos on smartphones such as Android, Windows, Apple, and Blackberry, has made it a tad convenient for players to relish in the slots which are within their budget. Thus, this has indeed helped a myriad of gamblers in enjoying the fun that comes with Internet gaming without having to pay through their nose. Hence, a multitude of casinos allows players to place bets which are as low as a few cents.

Furthermore, since web-based gaming allows you to play from the comfort of your home, this means that you do not have to order food and drinks as would be the requirement in a land-based gambling parlor. Thus, you can deposit a share of that money in a mobile platform of your choice and boost your chances of winning big.

• Customer Support Around the Clock

Unlike in a regular brick and mortar casino, portable gaming casinos offer players incredible customer support 24/7. Thus, there is a team of friendly professionals who are always ready to assist players with any gambling issues that arise. Hence, irrespective of whether these queries may occur at 2 a.m., 1 p.m., midnight, on a Sunday or a Monday, there is always someone ready to provide assistance.

The Cons

• Absence of the Real World Encounter

Without a doubt, you can never substitute the thrill as well as the excitement which comes with playing in a land-based casino. It entails the crowd, the cheering, the physical interaction with fellow gamblers, and the subtle adjustments in expressions, all of which you cannot experience when playing alone in remote quarters.

• The Loss of a Stable Internet Connection

The most obvious travesty among gamblers is the sudden loss of a stable internet connection during gameplay. It can be incredibly frustrating, more so, if a particular game has engrossed you. Nevertheless, the settings of the particular game you were relishing in undergo restoration upon acquiring a stable internet connection. Furthermore, if you were amidst processing your payments, all transactions come to an immediate halt, and you will not incur additional charges.

• Gambling Addiction

As you know, anything in excess can be harmful to you. Well, the same concept applies in the world of betting. Hence, too much of casino gambling be it online or land-based, can slowly turn into a pitfall as it is quite addictive.

Mobile Casino games are entertaining and offer lucrative cash rewards to the players. You can enjoy playing the favourite and popular casino games such as Blackjack, Roulette, Poker and Baccarat without having to deposit any money in the casino account and play it free. The Roulette game is quite a different mobile casino game and is compatible with all your latest android devices. It consists of a wheel and a table with numbers ranging from 0 to 36 or 37. You have multiple betting options which you can choose.

Poker games and online Baccarat are certainly not to be missed. If you are a poker enthusiast and looking for some potential wins at the poker hands, then you can play some of the fantastic poker variants including Texas Hold'em, Governor of Poker and a few others.

Enjoy Unlimited Gaming on your Mobile Browsers

After the evolution of smartphone devices, the casino operators are providing the same set of features for both the desktop and smartphone units. The features of the casino such as gaming, promotions and many other features are the same as that in the mobile browsers. A player can enjoy playing casino games for longer times without worrying about accessibility and compatibility issues.

If your mobile network has a good speed and can instantly load games without taking much time then you are good to go. When you are using mobile devices for gaming purposes, it is preferable that you have a strong Wi-Fi connection or a 4G network in order to enjoy unlimited gaming on the mobiles.

Smartphone games started off as a genre of gaming that could only appeal to casual gamers; something you would play to kill time while waiting for your turn at the dentist. However, things have since blown up way beyond those early days for mobile games as both iPhones and Android smartphones have become more powerful than our old desktop computers from the last decade! With so much computing power behind them, new Android and iOS games are stepping up to raise the standard every year and 2017 has been no exception either. On that note, let's now take a look at some of the best of what the Google Play Store had to offer to the Android population in 2017 so far.

Shadowmatic

Personally, I love puzzle games and as soon as I was through the initial free levels, I bought the full version because it was so addictive that I couldn't just NOT play anymore! The task is quite simple in Shadowmatic; you will need to rotate and arrange absurd (and a bit spooky) looking shapes in such a manner that the shadow which they form on the wall next to them attains coherence. The animations are fluid and beautiful, the gameplay is addictive and things can get really challenging once you are past the early handholding.

Minecraft

If you are even remotely interested in gaming then chances are that you have already played Minecraft on some platform or at least heard about it. It is the pixel-art sandbox game that has no equals and it's been finally launched on Android. You can literally do anything you want, be it exploring randomly generated worlds or creating that castle of your dreams. There is a $6.99 admission fee as well as in-app purchases though.

Realm Defense

The tower defense game which obviously draws its inspirations from the extremely fun and addictive Kingdom Rush series was released earlier this year and it has already gathered quite a huge fan following. Realm Defense: Fun Tower Game is free to play with in-app purchases just like most other games in the genre, but if you are willing to grind, you can progress without paying a dime. There are heroes, monsters, elves, beautiful backdrops, nice animations, super powers, multiple levels and as expected, quite a lot of towers as well!

The list wouldn't be complete without at least mentioning Super Mario Go, which didn't perform as well as Nintendo had hoped but is still quite a decent game, albeit with a steep price tag. If you are in the mood to earn a little money while having fun, there are a lot of new and exciting games on www.online-casino-arabic.com waiting for you right now.

Choosing a new MMO game (massively multiplayer online game, for those who haven't heard the term before) for mobile is tough. After all, it's an ever more crowded marketplace, and you want to make sure you pick one worthy of an investment of your time; you're likely to spend a large chunk of your life devoting precious hours to building your latest empire, collecting resources, and generally making sure you're in the ascendency.

With this in mind, it was with a hefty dose of excitement that we reviewed Plarium's Vikings: War of Clans, partly to capitalise on the recent suggestion that gaming at work can actually make you more productive after lunch, but also just for the fun of it. The game currently boasts a 4.4/5 rating on the Google Play Store, so it's clear that those who are playing it have enjoyed it so far.

Engaging Directives and City Names

After initially downloading the app, which is available for free for both iOS and Android, the first play through of the game does what all good games should do: it gives you a basic idea of what to do and how to best navigate around the first few challenges. The game uses a helpful, directive style that encourages you to get your city ready for the wider world and the battles you will soon undertake against other cities.

Directive openings to games can be frustrating if you're the type who likes diving into a new title, but the tutorial here really does help with an understanding of Vikings' core mechanics. You're even allowed to release any frustration as the directives demand that you attack another city before you have finished with the rundown (don't worry, no warriors were lost in our first battle!). After this, the game encourages you to take part in some more creative tasks like setting up the name of your city (this website should help you to find a suitably traditional and imposing name for yours).

Serious Graphics and Light-hearted Animations

As for the important parts, the game runs smoothly, with stand-out graphics that brilliantly highlight the level of detail required to enjoy the game. The fun little animations of your mercenaries and slayers practising their attacking moves also add an element of light-hearted entertainment. Perhaps more importantly, the screen doesn't feel crowded when you're playing and the buttons you need, including the all-important global map that helps you to see where you will next pillage from, are easy to keep in sight at all times.

Vikings: War of Clans allows for a sensible balance between being able to concentrate on getting your city to a pristine level so you can produce resources through your farms, forges and lumber mills, and allowing you the time needed to train up an army so that you can enjoy interacting with other players.

If you're keen on strategy games and have an interest in anything viking, or you simply just get a kick out of wiping out your enemies' cities and destroying the hard efforts of others (don't pretend that doesn't apply to you, we've all got a thrill from it!), this is definitely an MMO game worth your time in 2017.

Super Mario Run is finally here on Android and available for download from the Play Store. The registrations had been open forever, although iOS users had been enjoying the game for months since it came out last year in December. Unfair as it may seem, we are just glad that it's finally available for us Android users.

In an unexpected turn of events, Nintendo has decided to release the game a day earlier than the original intended date. Personally, I liked the game and as far as experts are concerned, no one has given it a bad rating yet. What I really liked was the fact that Nintendo has done away with the concept of micro-transactions in this one by introducing a one time pay system like the old days. You get to download it and try it out for free, but if you want to get more of Mario action, then you will need to pay for the full game. Critics have hailed the $10 price tag to be a bit too steep for a mobile game, but if you ask me, I will take a $10 price tag over an "in-app purchase" scheme any day!

Saikat Kar (tech-enthusiast)

The year started off with Nokia bringing back Snake with the revamped version of the 3310 which was great news for retro gaming enthusiasts. Although many of 2017's best mobile games are yet to come since the much awaited next gen mobile chips have not been released as of now, we have nonetheless seen quite a few awesome games already in 2017. Here's a list of the top 5 mobile games released in the year so far, according to us.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth (iOS)

January saw The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth make its way onto iOS, a game that iPhone users have been waiting with baited breath since 2016. The twin-stick shooter is outright ridiculous, dark, humorous, vulgar and immensely enjoyable at the same time. There's something about playing as a child whose evil mother is trying to kill him and he is trying to survive everything with the help of his tears that both shocks you and enthrals you at the same time. If you haven't played it already, do so now!

Edo Superstar (iOS)

You step in the shoes of Masaru the ninja monkey in this side-scrolling brawler that's entirely controlled via gestures, swipes and taps. Granted that things may get repetitive after a while, it still is extremely fun as long as it lasts. The many challenges of the game keeps you entertained for a good while, although the controls may not always be as reactive as you would want them to be. All in all, it's a game that's definitely worth trying out.

Super Mario Run (iOS and Android)

2017 seems to be the year of the retro games for the mobile platform because after Snake, Mario makes a comeback with Super Mario Run for the iOS and Android (soon to come). The game can be controlled with just one hand as on screen buttons and joysticks have been replaced with tapping and gesture control. The theme is the same as it had been back in Super Mario classic on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES); collect coins, jump on enemies, eat mushrooms and save the princess.

Warhammer 40,000: Regicide (iOS and Android)

Warhammer 40,000: Regicide is an unique take on chess. Apart from adding vivid animations and brutality to each kill on the chess board during Classic gameplay, there's also an additional mode called Regicide. In Regicide mode, the game transcends the traditional rules of chess in favour of advanced special powers and abilities of the units you control on the battlefield. Playing chess online with other players has never been more interesting.

This War of Mine (iOS and Android)

This War of Mine will make you think about each one of your in-game decisions, both before and after you take them. Surviving with your group during a war in a besieged city feels as brutal as it should. You are not a killing machine in this game, but an actual person trying to survive in a war that he did not start, but is paying for in every possible way. Playing the game and surviving will take a toll at your conscience and you will love it!

Honourable mentions include Sky Dancer, Potion Explosion, Dandy Dungeon: Legend of Brave Yamada and MUL.MASH.TAB.BA.GAL.GAL. If you love gaming and wouldn't mind making a bit of money from your favourite hobby, we suggest you try out some of the excellent mobile casino games like Jungle Jim: El Dorado, Sam on the Beach and Planet of the Apes as well. As mentioned before, there's still a lot more to come towards the mobile gamers this year, but these should keep you occupied till then.

It is no secret that the casino business has gone through a number of drastic changes in the last few years and all things suggest that there are still many more to come. Of course, most of these changes in the gambling world were brought on by the impact of technology. Instead of fighting against the tide, the gaming business has adapted itself to these changes as well as any other industry. Let us now take a closer look at some of the most important changes which are happening right now or will happen in the very near future.

Bitcoin is the Ideal Currency of the Gambler

If a player uses bitcoin to make bets online, he/she doesn't have to pay currency conversion charges. Also, since bitcoin is not connected to any central bank, the ever-changing world economy doesn't affect the digital currency in the same way that it affects other generally accepted currencies like the US dollar or the Euro. Bitcoin also keeps the players anonymous, secure and safe from any attempts at identity theft. The casinos that don't accept bitcoin yet will soon begin to welcome it in a few more years' time.

Traditional Casinos vs. Online Casinos

This age old debate of which is a better option is coming to an end with each passing year. Players can now simply go on Netbet and play with other players from around the world in a live action casino with a real dealer or choose to try out their luck at the virtual slot machines if they do not feel like socializing. Traditional establishments are starting to open up their own online casinos and live action casinos are blurring the line in between the two. In other words, technology is actually making the two natural enemies work together with each other in building a unified gaming empire for the future.

The Portable Medium

Apart from being the most used type of consumer technology in the world right now, smartphones have also added a new dimension to the gambling industry. In the beginning, you had to visit a physical casino to gamble, but that all changed with the arrival of the online betting sites. However, you still had to sit in front of a computer or a laptop in order to access the online options. Right now, gambling applications and support for mobile devices on all major gaming sites has ensured that players can gamble whenever they want. It doesn't matter if you are travelling, lying on your bed or even sitting on the toilet seat; if you want to gamble, you can do it from anywhere with your smartphone. In the coming years, the number of smartphone users will continue to grow globally and so will the number of online players.

Expectedly, more countries will open up to the business in the coming years, allowing online casinos to touch markets that have so far been shielded from the world of gambling by conservative governments. It will take time but it should happen eventually.

As soon as you visit a new online casino, you are likely to be bombarded with ads for promo offers, "one time deals" and no deposit bonuses. It can get confusing for a newcomer, especially if you are not familiar with what these things mean exactly. In order to find the best casino bonus offers and promotions in the UK, you must first understand how it all works.

Wagering Requirements

A wagering requirement or a playthrough requirement as it is called sometimes is the number followed by an "x" in front of the bonus that is being offered to you. What that number represents is the minimum number of times a user must gamble the given bonus cash or credit, before the money in the user's account can be withdrawn. A 10x wagering requirement on a £100 bonus means that you will have to make bets worth at least £1000 before you can cash it out.

Gaming Restrictions

The bonus you are given in an online casino will in most cases, apply to specific games only. Slot games are usually where the bonus money is supposed to be spent. Games such as blackjack, roulette, etc usually do not give you full value of the bonus when it comes to fulfilling the minimum wagering requirements. For example, if you have been given £200 in bonus and you use it to bet in roulette, your bet will only shave off a small percentage (5% - 20%) from the minimum staking requirement. The percentage varies depending on how much of a cut a particular casino has on the particular game in question.

Cashable and Sticky Bonuses

A cashable bonus amount can be withdrawn after the minimum wagering requirements are met. If you try to cash out your winnings before you have met the requirements, it will fail. A sticky bonus cannot usually be withdrawn from your account but is always available to be used in a bet. The non-deposit bonus offers are usually all sticky bonuses. This means that if you win £100 by using some of the £300 no-deposit bonus you were given on joining, the total amount of money that you will see in your account will be £400. However, the £300 sticky bonus will remain in your account and only the £100 which you won will qualify for a cashout, provided that you have already met the wagering requirements.

As you can see, while bonus offers are great, it is important to understand what you are getting into and what to expect before starting with your gambling ventures. Casinos are not there to lose money, so bonuses are a good way to start off with but just do not consider them the same as cash in the bank.

In the competitive field of online casinos, everyone has one offer or the other for newcomers and loyal returning customers. The no deposit bonus is a popular practice which gives the user free money or credits to get started with gambling, without actually spending any of his/her own money. You cannot withdraw the in-game cash given to you as a bonus though. You can only use it to play games on that particular site. Before joining a casino, you should look at the offers made to you and compare them with other offers from different casinos to find and take advantage of the best no deposit casino available.

Bonus cash

Bonus cash is a no deposit extra which puts some in-game cash into the player's account, even when he has not spent any real money on the casino games yet. These offers are particularly good for first time joiners and help them to get a feel of how things work on the site.

Free Slots and Spins

Although free spins usually do not have prizes as good as paid ones, anything you may win with one of these are for you to keep. Free spins are a good way to test out some of the slot games available on the casino to find the ones you like.

Cashback

You may not find it in all online casinos, but some of them do return a portion of the money you have lost while gambling at the end of each week or month. The percentage of the losses which they could return back to you is known as a cashback bonus. The amount will vary depending on how much you have spent during the last week or month and there could be limits on the maximum amount that can be returned to you via cashback.

Credit Bonus

Similar to cash bonuses, a credit bonus also allows players to get free entry to certain games, but they most often come with a time limit and are only applicable to a few particular games at any one time. The promo credits will disappear after the announced timeframe is over.

A credit bonus is a good offer if you are already a member and the credits are being given on a game that you like. However, if you are looking to join an online casino as a new member, make sure that you get a lot of bonus cash, free spins and maybe even a good cashback percentage on your first week.

In countries like the UK, where gambling is legal, online casinos have grown greatly in both numbers and popularity. It wasn't long ago when these sites were viewed by the public with scepticism and suspicion as bank details and certain personal information were necessary to gamble online. Although the situation has changed greatly, what brought on those changes? Let us now try and find an answer to that question in the following points.

Access to Information

This is by far the most important factor responsible in changing public perception towards casino sites. Search engines and their seamless integration with websites on the internet have led us to a time when anyone can do a basic background check on any website to clear doubts and suspicions before interacting with it. Finding the best online casinos in the UK is now as easy as it should be.

The Stock Exchange

The big names in the online gambling business now all have their companies listed on the stock exchange to support expansion. The stock listings have further established the public image of these online casinos as reputed business institutions.

More Investments

As you probably know already, the internet is filled with casino sites and while there are still a few fraudulent sites here and there, a majority of them are legal, licensed and registered casinos. Since major investors are now putting in the funds necessary for the online gambling industry to grow, constant effort is being made to assure the public about the authenticity of licensed slot sites. This is proving to be successful with analysts predicting that nearly 10% of all adults in the entire world might be gambling online in one form or the other, by the year 2019.

Unmatched Convenience

Online casinos can be accessed from anywhere in the world, they don't need you to interact with strangers and they have some of the biggest jackpots in the world. Those that have realized that you don't need to face shady characters at the local casino and can enjoy much better bonus offers than a traditional casino can ever give you, will probably stick to online gambling only. The convenience and the comfort associated with internet casinos, coupled with the newly established legitimacy and faith in the system is one of the biggest reasons as to why the sector has grown so much in the last few years.

Online casinos are abundant in the UK, but that doesn't mean that they are all the same. You can always get information from reliable websites that pick only the best new UK slots to review, but you yourself should have a basic idea about what to expect as well. Here are a few pointers to keep in mind while joining a new slot site.

Licensing Details

This is one of the most important factors to remember before joining a slot site. The online casino should have license to operate in the jurisdiction where its servers are maintained. Depending on the jurisdiction which is responsible for its regulation and licensing, the experience may differ. It might be best if you checked the slot site's licensing properties in the UK as well before joining. An eCOGRA certification is a good sign and usually means that the site is secure for safe monetary transactions.

The Software

When it comes to online casinos, the software is everything. It decides the games you can play, the graphics, the animations, the audio, themes, player options and just about everything that determines a user's experience on a slot site. Before signing up, it is probably a good idea to make sure that the casino is using software from market leaders such as Microgaming, Playtech and NetEnt.

Bonus Offers

Almost all slot sites will offer welcome bonuses to you on signing up, but it's up to you to choose the one that's presenting the best first time offers, according to you. Even after you sign up and your first time offers have expired, you should be getting periodical offers from the casino every once in a while.

Customer Support

Customer care is important as that's how you are supposed to interact with the casino, especially if something goes wrong. Even if the site doesn't have 24 × 7 customer care available, check to see if support will at least be available during the time when you usually gamble. Live chat options are far better than email communication since it's a much faster process. Alternatively, you should be able to call them up if you need to. If a casino is operating in the UK, the customer care executives should speak English, but check the language options before signing up nevertheless.

Once you have made sure that a casino checks all the above boxes, sign up and try out a few slots to see if you like how it feels. If you don't like it, there's always something better waiting for you.

If you are wondering whether online slots are better than traditional slot machines, then know that you are not the first one to speculate about it. Instead of telling you which one is better from our point of view, it is best that you come to your own conclusion after reading the following points.

The Slots are Never Full Online

A traditional casino, irrespective of its size, will at times have all its slot machines engaged and you may have to wait in line to try out your luck on one of them. An online casino can host thousands of guests simultaneously on its slot machines. There's virtually no limit on the number of people playing slots at any one time.

Online Casinos Never Close

Although there are 24 hour traditional casinos as well in the UK, not all of them stay open all day and all night. In an online casino, there's no closing time and the slots are available for you to bet at any time according to your own convenience. You don't have to worry about driving back to your home from the casino late at night if you are already home and gambling at the slots from the comfort of your bedroom.

Amazing Bonuses and Promotions

While offline casinos will offer you a few rounds of free food and drink at the bar, online casinos offer much better value for your money in the way of free rolls and 100 - 200 percent bonuses at times. Apart from the attractive introductory offers, you may also be awarded one thing or the other every hour you spend at the slots. Visit this slot machine site right here to see what we are talking about.

Bigger Jackpots

Consider the fact that a man in Finland won €17,861,800 after initially betting just 25 cents from his pocket. The money was won while playing on a progressive slot machine game named Mega Fortune. There have been a few instant millionaire stories on traditional slot machines as well, but none as dramatic as the ones won online.

Apart from these obvious advantages, there's also the question of added security. A good traditional casino is a secure place but the truth is that a lot of shady people like loan sharks do hang out near these places. It is best if you do not encounter them while gambling and an online casino is the perfect answer to that potential safety hazard.

When it comes to online gambling, there is no busier or bigger market in the world than the one in UK. It's saturated with online gambling options and the competition is as tough as it can get for the ones in the business. However, it does give the casual and the serious gambler a whole lot of options to choose from. In fact, that choice can become overwhelming if you don't know what exactly is going on. In order to clear the confusion and pick the best online casinos in the UK, check out the following tips.

Gaming Options

Select an online casino that offers you a wide selection of choices when it comes to choosing the game you want to gamble on. There are so many reputed software developers making casino games nowadays that you don't want to choose a site that restricts your options. Check out Grand Ivy Casino for a varied range of gaming options like Magic Gems, Icy Wonders, Hall of Gods, Cosmic Fortune, Arabian Nights and much more.

First Time Bonuses & Promotional Offers

If it's your first time on the site, ideally, the casino should be offering welcome bonuses and promotions to you on signing up. As the market is extremely competitive, most casinos will have one offer or the other and it is up to you to compare and choose a licensed gambling site that has the best offer for you. 100 percent bonus on making the first bet isn't uncommon but it's always a good idea to read the fine print before you begin.

Banking Options

If you are dealing with a reputable and licensed online casino, credit cards, debit cards, PayPal, Skrill and other e-wallets should all be acceptable means of transaction. In most cases, a payout or a deposit should be free of charge as well. You should be able to sign up with your account in GBP (£) to avoid currency exchange charges while making a withdrawal to your bank account in the UK. Finally, the payout should not be too slow as most online casinos that are worth visiting will payout in a few hours max.

You will never have a shortage of options while choosing a casino on the internet in the UK, but it's necessary that you ensure it's a registered and licensed site with good reputation to ensure security. Once you have done that, just keep the above tips in mind to find the best online casinos that the UK has to offer.

The decent into the depths of winder calls for some plans for entertaining friends indoors. You have the drinks at the ready and the music on in the background. But what better to add than a party game that's not Monopoly. Here are a few of the top android games to keep your guests happy whether at a housewarming, birthday party or just an impromptu get together.

Programmed with classical music designed with dance in mind, and coming with seven dances devised by the Dutch National Ballet, you'll find yourself undulating your arms, winding your form, till you're dancing!

Heads Up!

Who Can't Draw?

A fun challenging game where each player is tasked with a word that they must then attempt to draw. The phone or android device has to be passed from player to player, and each must attempt to copy the drawing they were just passed. You get fifteen seconds. At the last player, you guess the original word. Kind of reminds us of a sketch version of Chinese whispers.

Ticket To Ride

This is a great design of the train based board game where card dealing and piece-handling is done digitally making for easy setup. In-app purchases allow you to unlock other game boards too.

Lucky Nugget Casino

A casino mobile app that allows you to host a casino themed party in your own home and either bring the glamour of a real venue to your house party, or let you try out some slots and classic card games for the chance of real wins, before you hit a casino in the real world.

Smartphone technology has single-handedly transformed a range of industries and the way we do things in a lot of areas within such a short space of time.
In this aspect, the mobile and gambling industry is no different, with mobile phones actually helping to save the sector as well as being a big part of its future and prosperity. There are a number of ways that smartphones have brought about changes to online gaming as the industry has willingly embraced the innovative platforms, helping to increase the amount of players and operators' revenue.

With that in mind, in this post we shall take a closer look at 3 ways smartphones have changed the gambling industry.

Easier Access and Greater Convenience

The Internet opened new avenues for gambling providers to reach their existing customers as well as millions of potential new ones. The advent of smartphones meant that each mobile user was now a potential customer, even if it were only for free to play games.
Nowadays, online games such as bingo and other casino and gambling games are amongst the most popular and with new players coming on board all the time. In this case resources such as bingosites.uk guides to playing bingo help new players to acclimatise and find the games they prefer and are good at. The easier access and convenience provided by smartphones also means that all the information players need is always only a tap away.

Internet connected mobile phones therefore helped to bring easier access and greater convenience to anyone interested in playing casino games or online gambling. This is one of the biggest reasons behind the growth and popularity of mobile games and gambling.

A Wider Variety of Games

Another benefit that smartphones have brought to the gambling industry is the ability to offer a wider variety of games for players to choose from. From digital versions of traditional games such as blackjack, roulette, or bingo, titles with different themes and game play are also now available. Gambling operators can now offer a wider range of games than they could ever do at any one time in physical locations. This is another reason behind the growth in the numbers of people who take part in mobile gambling, as there are games to suit all tastes and abilities.

A More Social Experience

As contradictory as it may sound, smartphones have actually helped to make gambling a more social experience for players. Even though footfall may have fallen in general at physical casinos, mobile phones are able to bring like-minded people together faster, and easier. With both social media sites and gambling games based on the same platforms, it easier to share your interests and favourite games with your friends or even the rest of the world if you wish.
This social involvement and the points mentioned above have fuelled a growth in gambling tourism, resulting in an increase in players visiting real world casino again.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the three points above show how much of an impact smartphones have had on the gambling industry to become one of its biggest drivers of growth in user numbers and revenue. With innovations coming fast and the sector always keen to embrace new technologies, the future of the two seem intertwined for now.

Compared to five years ago, mobile devices, smartphones and tablets are no longer emerging ideas in the technology community. In fact, they are now considered far less as luxury items and way more as an ingrained part of everyday life.

The number of smartphone users in the United States is expected to reach 223 million by the end of 2017, along with a total in excess of 2 billion worldwide users within the same timeframe. With more people than ever using mobile devices to pay for goods and services, and to deposit and transfer money in a number of ways, we need to talk about security and convenience.

Here's our rundown of three key areas in which mobile payment systems play a huge role, the best solutions out there and how they are currently serving their purpose.

iGaming

It's no coincidence that the steady rise of the iGaming industry correlates with the growing popularity of mobile devices. From sports bookmakers to virtual poker rooms, many iGaming operators have already started to invest heavily in mobile apps and more secure payment systems that allow players to deposit, play and withdraw money at a moment's notice, wherever they are.

Review websites do a good job of rating and comparing the security and convenience of different canadian online casino payment systems, particularly those based in North America. The range of payment options these days is actually wider than ever, with many casino games offering players the choice between credit or debit card payments, or online payment systems such as Skrill that are typically known for a quicker withdrawal speed.

Small retailers and merchants

Mobile technology has revolutionized the way in which small businesses can take payments for their goods or services. Whether you're a startup T-shirt vendor, a hairdresser or a freelancer, you're ultimately looking for a quick and secure way to bill your customers that is painless for all parties involved.

The two main mobile-friendly options at the moment are Paypal and Square. Paypal is the more well known of the two, and considered to be the industry standard for digital transactions. As well as being secure, it's also easy to create, send and receive invoices. That said, Square has become a key rival to PayPal's success and offers the nifty option to embed payment gateways directly onto a website, as well as slightly better rates for transactions (2.75% compared to Paypal's 3%). Decisions, decisions...

Personal mobile wallets

"Google Wallet at Peet's" (CC BY 2.0) by kennejima

This is very likely going to play a big part in the future of mobile payment systems. While many of us are still getting used to contactless card payments, we're already well on our way to seeing systems like Android Pay, Google Wallet and Apple Pay becoming more and more established in the very near future.

The idea is that, instead of needing a wallet full of cards and cash (if only), all customers need to do is wave their smartphone at the till machine and it will be able to identify their bank account details through a respective Windows, Google or Apple account. At the minute the technology is in its infancy, relatively speaking, and supported by a limited number of merchants on a limited number of devices. However, we definitely expect that number to expand rapidly in years to come. Watch this space!

All of these areas considered, it's clear that mobile payment systems are at a more sophisticated and secure level than they have ever been before.

Whether you're a keen iGamer looking to withdraw quickly and securely from a mobile casino, a budding startup looking to set up a clear transaction process for your products, or even just a regular Joe who likes to keep an eye on the next phase of technology, the landscape of mobile payment options has never been richer. And, in the grand scheme of things, things are only just getting started.

The average number of people using their mobile phones to browse the Internet has skyrocketed throughout this decade. What was a costly and fiddly process on the WAP-enabled button phones of the early 21st century is now a fully integrated part of daily life.

The smartphone boom has resulted in the vast majority of people carrying devices in their pockets and bags that are capable of finding and collecting information, playing videos, music and games, and much more.

Businesses in every industry are always looking to make sure that they are doing all they can to put themselves on that handheld screen as much as possible.

It is therefore no big surprise that many online casino websites have invested heavily into making their sites as mobile-friendly as they could possibly be, and the result is people playing casino games on their mobile phones a whole lot more often.

Why so much focus on mobile?

2016 was the year of the ‘mobile first Internet' - the year that mobile searches finally surpassed desktop searches on the search engine powerhouse, Google.

In response to this, Google increased its efforts to ensure that sites which rank well in their search results offer an equally good user experience, whichever device the user happens to be using to access the page.

To this end, since the second half of 2016 Google has been pushing mobile responsive sites ever higher in rankings, offering a tantalising incentive to those web developers who have yet to take the plunge into mobile offering.

The shift from Flash to HTML5

One of the biggest driving forces behind the massive growth in popularity of using mobile phones to browse the Internet is the emergence of HTML5 as the engine behind website content.

Its predecessor, Adobe Flash, was completely eschewed by Apple due to a combination of factors including disagreements between creators as well as security concerns. This meant that iPhone, iPad and iPod users - a huge chunk of the Internet's browsing audience - were all unable to access Flash content. Flash enabled websites to offer a great deal of functionality in the 21st century, but over time more and more exploits were found and well, exploited.

As well as being completely unsupported on iPhone, it was often incompatible with Android phones. With more and more people wanting to access the content on their mobiles, something had to change, and HTML5 came into prominence early in the 2010s.

It is debatable whether the shift from Flash to HTML5 was the cause or the effect of increased mobile browsing - but it is clear that the Internet overall has been moving in the direction of increased mobile-friendliness for several years now.

Major developments from Netent

As one of the main game developers for online casinos, NetEnt have naturally been the trailblazers when it comes to providing games which look as brilliant on mobile phones as they do on desktops.

NetEnt Touch® is the brand of games produced by NetEnt for the mobile market. They work on both iOS and Android devices, and the portfolio of games offered is absolutely massive. Slots, Blackjack, Roulette, Bingo, and lots more are on the menu, all coming complete with superb graphics, and enhanced experience optimised for mobile users.

In-Browser Casinos vs Casino Applications

Playing a game in your mobile phone's browser is convenient as it prevents you from needing to download an application which will take time to do as well as occupy space on your phone. Anybody with a 16GB iPhone will know only too well the constant battle to keep storage space free.

However, if it is a game that you play regularly, or one where progress needs to be saved, applications come into their own. It may take slightly longer to download it in the first place, but once you have, it's there all the time and loads in a matter of seconds, with your progress and preferences to boot. What is more, you may be able to play the game even when away from an Internet connection.

As far as the mobile casino trend goes, the browser version is still useful for ascertaining how much you enjoy playing at that particular online casino. Online casino developers have gone to great lengths to ensure that their games can be played on any device, so whether you decide to go for the app or the website, you're sure to be satisfied.

Mobile games are an integral part of our everyday lives today. With more than 2 billion smartphone users, there is a massive player base behind them - no wonder mobile has become the most used (and most profitable) gaming platform of the world. The top games come and go - titles like Pokemon Go, Clash of Clans, and similar ones, briefly take over the top spot in the list of the most used apps of the world. There is a game type, though, that is constantly in the top 10, with millions choosing its casual fun day after day: slot machines. In the US, they are played socially, while in the rest of the world, players can choose between social versions and the real thing, offered by the Royal Vegas Canada (among many others).

With millions choosing to spin the reels all over the world, slot machines are clearly among the most played casual games at a global scale. Let's see which were the Top 5 Most Popular Slots for October.

5. Dragon Dance

The Dragon Dance is a very popular street spectacle in China - an integral part of many major festivals. To make every day a celebration, the Royal Vegas has brought forth the Dragon Dance slot machine this February, as a way to greet the Chinese New Year. The game is not only popular around this holiday, though - this October, it was the fifth most played game at the casino.

4. Shanghai Beauty

A new addition to the Royal Vegas game library, Shanghai Beauty takes its players on a trip into the sophisticated, elegant world of Asia. While the game doesn't have many bonus features, its combination of relaxing music and exciting action has turned it into a favorite last month.

3. Mega Moolah

While the game itself is fun to play, most Mega Moolah players choose it for its big win. It's the game with the most generous jackpot at the Royal Vegas - it pays out millions to its luckiest fans several times a year. This jungle-themed slot machine was the third most played game here this October.

2. Bar Bar Black Sheep

A game based on a popular nursery rhyme, Bar Bar Black Sheep has more than just a cute look and a soothing music. Its reels are filled with farm-related symbols, along with a BAR symbol borrowed from the classic Vegas slot machines. Two BARs, coupled with a Black Sheep symbol, trigger the game's generous bonus, paying out up to 999 times the triggering bet.

1. Lost Vegas

With Halloween coming, Royal Vegas players seemed to have found their taste for horror. Lost Vegas was the perfect game for them - it took them on a trip to a zombie-ridden Las Vegas, allowing them to join the Survivors or the Zombies in their quest for unimaginable riches.

In the last ten years or so, mobile phone technologies have improved rapidly and most games are now as impressive as their PC and console counterparts. When you think that not too long ago, we were all playing Snake on the old-school Nokia 3310...!

Whether you are a football fan playing FIFA 17, a punter betting on French roulette or a puzzle aficionado playing Sudoku, it is amazing to think just how seamless the experience is on a mobile. Eventually, mobile gaming might even overtake console gaming - the sector is already set to surpass revenues earned in the latter stages of 2016, generating $31.9 billion while console gaming will "only" take in $29 billion.

Accessible and Improved Graphics are Key

Accessibility has been crucial to the rise in gaming on smartphones: what could be better than beating boredom while queuing at the store with a quick game of Angry Birds? It is all available at the click of a button or the swipe of a tablet.

One sector which has especially benefitted from the take-up of this new trend is iGaming. In fact, mobile online casino games such as roulette or slots are perfectly suited for smartphone users who like to play in short bursts and possibly win hard cash on your mobile device. Review websites focusing specifically on mobile casinos such as Casino Quest have even flourished in recent times due to the rise in popularity and exposure of these games. Designers have worked on making the gameplay both realistic and quick; and the live casino rooms are just as detailed on a smartphone device as they are on a wider screen.

While it is sometimes more practical to play these games on a wider computer screen, the graphics and feel of gaming on a smartphone certainly appeals to the masses. After all, not everybody can afford to fork out £500 for a reliable computer; in contrast, smartphones give users the chance to get their gaming fix whilst still being able to text, make phone calls and do other daily chores, all on that tiny screen.

Competitive and MMO Play

The one big difference between mobile and console lies in competitive eSports and MMO games. eSports feature worldwide tournaments and events for the very best players on the planet, while MMOs need massive open worlds and a lot of real-time interaction. It doesn't seem that developers and designers are making much effort (yet) to produce engaging MMO games for mobiles. There needs to be a shift in the MMO culture to ensure that the likes of Order & Chaos don't remain a small niche in the mobile world.

As for eSports, games like League of Legends actually have a huge take-up on PC, which is the first step towards mobile adoption. This type of games tends to be favoured by hardcore players, so again studios need to step up to the challenge of creating engaging mobile options. And if we believe Andrew Paradise, CEO of Skillz (which creates eSports infrastructure), the time is ripe. Games like Vainglory have been very popular on Twitch in 2015, with over 150 million minutes watched.

We can't deny that consoles are still very popular but the lure of playing your favourite games on the move has seen a major shift in the gaming universe. With the rise of Augmented Reality (remember Pokémon Go?), mobile gaming is definitely getting a bright future.

The holiday season is almost upon us and many of you will either be travelling back to your home or going on a vacation. Whether you are returning home or going away from it, you will possibly want to avoid expensive roaming data charges from you carrier. Even if you do decide to use the internet while on the road, there are chances that you might end up with no network coverage at times. Offline games are your best bet during these trying times and therefore, here's a small list of games worth downloading before embarking on a trip.

Dead Trigger 2

Improved both in graphics and gameplay, Dead Trigger 2 is the better version of Dead Trigger with more aggressive zombies and a huge arsenal of weapons.

Dots: A Game about Connecting

This is as simple as they get, but the puzzle game is very addictive nonetheless. Minutes will pass by fast as you keep connecting colored dots to figure out the next solution.

Jetpack Joyride

Jetpack Joyride is an extremely fun and popular game where you control and guide Barry, who is riding a machinegun jetpack through a secret laboratory, killing evil scientists and avoiding obstacles for as long as possible.

Plants vs. Zombies 2

This one is a personal favourite of mine and I have put multiple hours into it. An addictive tower defence game at its core, Plants vs. Zombies 2 brings better graphics, animations, more plants, more levels more zombies and even a upside town funny story to the garden.

Click here for a complete list of all offline games prepared by Google on the Play Store itself.

Ever since Nokia introduced phones with the first incarnation of Snake pre-programmed on them, mobile users have become obsessed with skill-based app games as a time-filling distraction. The simple idea was easy enough to get the hang of, but took hours of practice to master. Snake's popularity led developers to focus frequently on skill-based ideas for their games, in an effort to tap into the human desire to conquer challenges.

via GIPHY

According to bgo, Millennial and Generation Y gamers have become accustomed to games that test their ability. This highlights how Snake in the late ‘90s went on to influence apps for smartphones, where the primary area of focus is games of skill.

One of the first ever skill-based games for smartphones was Doodle Jump, which was released in 2009. Players had to tilt the phone to guide "The Doodler" up an infinite series of platforms. If you missed a platform you would fall to your doom and have to start all over again. It was hugely popular, and sold 25,000 copies daily for its first 4 months. Later that year, Angry Birds came out, and surpassed Doodle Jump's sales record.

via GIPHY

Where Doodle Jump didn't have much longevity in that it was only one level being played over and over again, Angry Birds had multiple stages, each representing a completely different set of challenges. Users could keep testing their abilities using unique birds that had varying special talents, and by breaking down more intricate sets of obstacles. They also got a star rating out of three for each level depending on how well they had done. This gave players an extra challenge - to attempt to get three stars on every level. Games in the series have been downloaded over 3 billion times, which is testament to the game's appeal.

via GIPHY

The three-star concept has been used by a number of games since Angry Birds, most notably perhaps, Candy Crush. The idea behind the game was simple; to mix candies together and clear the puzzle area. As bgo suggests, the game was "sickly and addictive" because of its "saga" feature, the fact that there were so many levels to overcome, and because you could see how far your Facebook friends had progressed as well.

The success of these challenging app games has even influenced iGaming developers to start incorporating them into slot games. Online slots are hugely popular, but gamers who like to test their skills are missing out on the action. The new Space Invaders slot at Vegas Slots Online has an added element that requires gamers to shoot the aliens to try to win money, and is one of the first of its kind. Games like this could help online casinos pull in an even wider audience.

Another skill-based app that is pushing the genre in a new direction is Pokémon Go. Players not only have to use skill to throw the pokeball and catch the intriguing monsters, they also have to wander about in real-life settings in search of them. The game incorporates augmented reality, so that the Pokémon are actually seen in the real world, through the lens of the phone of course. With augmented reality glasses set to flood markets in the near future, Pokémon Go could mark the beginning of a new wave of AR games.

The massive success of Pokémon Go and apps like Angry Birds and Candy Crush suggests that a combination of these things could be a massive hit. Will people soon be flinging virtual birds in real-life settings? Or maybe gamers will have to go into shops and move candy around on the shelves? Whatever the aim, skill games are here to stay, but they are sure to become more advanced.

The internet has changed our lives forever and there's hardly any aspect of it that still remains untouched by the World Wide Web. Apart from simplifying the global trade, making information easily available and creating countless other potentially world-changing opportunities, the internet have also become a hub for digital entertainment. Online gaming has gained a lot of popularity in recent times and it will only grow in magnitude and scale as time passes on. If you are looking to give this lucrative world of multiplayer battles, races and rewards a try, check out this list of the most popular genres in online gaming today.

Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO)

Imagine exploring, fighting and completing quests in a virtual world that's co-inhabited by thousands of other players and you should have an idea about what an MMO is exactly. Some of the most popular MMO titles include World of Warcraft, Tom Clancy's The Division, Guild Wars 2, Final Fantasy XIV and Tera Online.

First Person Shooters (FPS)

A FPS game typically puts you in the shoes of the protagonist, armed with guns, armor, grenades and much more to blow your opponents into oblivion! Multiplayer first person shooters like Counter Strike Global Offensive, Team Fortress 2 and Destiny are extremely popular and are enjoyed by thousands of players around the world every day.

Casino Games

Various online casino games like Blackjack, Craps, Poker, Roulette, etc. are played and enjoyed by millions of players around the world now and with the security system getting tighter and safer with each passing day, the number is expected to increase. However, you should be careful and deal only with legal and trustworthy online casinos like casino.com for example.

Sports Games

Sports games like the FIFA series or the Pro Evolution Soccer series make for some of the most intense real time competitive online simulations ever and that's exactly why they are so popular all over the world. Other popular games in the genre include the Madden series and the NBA series.

Racing Games

Racing was one of the first genres in gaming ever to sport competitive multiplayer gameplay. The genre gained widespread popularity recently with the extremely successful NFS series of games. Apart from cars, online racing games may include bike racing, Jet Ski racing, etc.

Fighting Games

Basically anyone can pick up a controller and start throwing punches and kicks in a fighting game, but it takes true skill and precision to reach mastery of the game. Although they are not as popular worldwide as some of the others on this list, the player base is still pretty strong for games such as Street Fighter or Tekken.

There's a school of thought that states that microtransactions - small gameplay enhancements bought with real money, otherwise known as in-app purchases - are always bad, a belief that stems from widespread misuse of the feature by both bedroom developers and major companies like Ubisoft and EA.

However, whether you like them or not, apps often rely on a dedicated base of paying ‘whales' (or power users) to keep the lights on. Fallout Shelter, for example, a mobile game that tasks you with leading a group of helpless survivors in the wake of a nuclear war, was earning $364,000 a day earlier this year, despite not charging players a dime to download it.

In-app purchases are a lucrative economic model and they're not going away. With that in mind, here are some examples of microtransactions done right, in games we don't mind spending our money on.

Fallout Shelter

Fallout Shelter's microtransactions are unique in that they aren't purely cosmetic and can make life underground more entertaining. There are frequent promotions and holiday sales too, as well as the occasional money-saving bundle.

The game packs resources, pets (conveying myriad bonuses), new survivors, and crafting tools into blind boxes. There's also the option of buying Nuka-Cola Quantum, which lets players skip the multi-hour journey times to quest locations, and a Mr. Handy robot, who automates resource collection on a single floor. The great thing about Fallout Shelter's in-app purchases is that they're an enhancement to gameplay and not a necessity, as the items can sometimes be found in game for free.

mFortune Slots

Something a little bit different, mFortune, an iGaming company, allows the users of its apps to make slots deposit by phone bill, meaning that players without immediate access to money can simply add it to the tab they hold with their phone company. It's a novel idea that benefits from immediate deposits and the added security of keeping your credit card details offline.

The website, which also offers bingo and classic casino games like blackjack and poker, gives new players a sign-up bonus as an incentive to play.

Pokémon Go

Pokémon Go needs no introduction. Niantic's mobile monster hunter earned $200m in its first month in a textbook demonstration of how to monetize an app. The game's currency, Pokécoins, can be bought with real money and traded for Poké Balls, lucky eggs, which grant extra experience points, and incense, an item that lures Pokémon to your location.

It's nothing you can't find in the regular game but an extra lucky egg (for example) means you won't have to catch quite so many Weedle and Rattata to ascend the game's levels.

Hearthstone

"Hearthstone Beta" (CC BY 2.0) by mrwynd

A ‘card battle' game from Blizzard, the makers of World of Warcraft and Diablo, Hearthstone's in-app purchases are straightforward - you can use real money to buy packs of five cards to improve your deck. The popularity of the app's microtransactions is perhaps best demonstrated by one US writer's $639 spending spree on Hearthstone's market.

Much like Pokémon Go's in app-purchases, Hearthstone's card packs can be harvested for free in game, albeit at a rate of about one a day. Also like Pokémon, it's the urge to complete a whole set of something (in this case, cards) that makes the in-app purchases so appealing.

Dungeon Keeper

Just kidding. As a final point, it's worth noting that well thought-out mobile economics is something of a rarity on the Play Store and the App Store. Microtransactions are often blatant cash grabs from clueless suits, the reason children continue to rack up massive bills buying coins, crystals, gems, and many other make-believe currencies.

A perfect example is Dungeon Keeper, a recent remake of Peter Molyneux's 1997 PC game. With in-app purchases costing up to $100, a sum that makes the term ‘microtransactions' seem more than a little ironic, EA's update was panned for slowing progress to zero if the player didn't feed the money machine its favorite dollars.

There was a time when all the main gaming you did was played out on a console or a PC, but how times have changed. In line with virtually everything technological, people are now generally looking for a "one device does everything" approach to play in order to enjoy everything from movies and social media to bingo online. This, along with ever more available wireless go-anywhere connectivity, means that smartphones are now becoming many people's first choice for gaming.

The manufacturers are well aware of this fact and are incorporating more and more gamer-friendly features into each new generation of phones. So here are five to get your fingers twitching in anticipation of their 2017 launches.

Apple iPhone 7S

Hard to believe it, but 2017 sees the 10th anniversary of the iPhone and what a long way it's come since its launch. Traditionally Apple make all their big product launches in September and there's no reason why next year should be any different, Rumours are already rife that the 7S may have an OLED screen giving extra-sharp picture quality as well as the phone featuring wireless charging. What will definitely be included are the revolutionary wireless headphones that are great for gaming.

Xiaomi Mi Mix

Due out from January the Xiaomi Mi Mix is proof, as if it was needed, that some of the lesser-known manufacturers have some big surprises up their sleeves. Most notable on this phone will be the big, edgeless screen which comprised over 93% of the total phone size and which promises crystal-clear images. This is married to a super-fast processer and up to 6GB of RAM. For fantastic sound there's also going to be the very technical sounding "cantilever piezoelectric ceramic acoustic technology".

HTC 11

Their preceding model, the HTC 10, was widely agreed to be the model that really put the maker back on the map and the 11 is likely to be an improvement even on this model, due out in April. Sound is likely to include the successful Boomsound speakers and a fast Snapdragon 830 processor will be able to deal with all the gaming action that you need. They're also likely to increase the screen size from 5.2" up to 5.5" and up the battery power which will mean less frequent need for e-charging.

LG G6

The end of February should see the launch of the G6. It's expected to have a glass front and rear. Of particular interest to gamers are the plans to improve the processor to prepare it for Virtual Reality applications. Wireless charging is also likely to feature as well as an innovative iris-scanning technology to help keep the phone safe from unauthorised use.

Samsung Galaxy 8

Following the disastrous and costly launch of the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung have a lot riding on the 8. They've got till August to get it right and when it is launched we're expecting to have a phone with a large 5.7" screen and a powerful processor ready for VR gaming. Waterproofing is almost certain too - ideal if you're a fan of gaming in the bath.

So of all the phones it's inevitable that the most noise will be made about Apple's - but that doesn't mean it's necessarily the only one for gaming. So maybe look to the Xiaomi if you want the biggest, and best, surprises.

The popular image of mobile gaming is one of commuters playing Candy Crush and similar throwaway titles but developers like Apple, Samsung, and Google are engaged in a perpetual game of one-upmanship, meaning that devices are getting faster with every new iteration of the iPhone or S-series Galaxy.

The mobile arena in 2016 isn't too dissimilar to the one occupied by consoles and PCs - specs are everything and arguing about them is a viable hobby in select corners of the internet. It's perhaps no surprise that AAA games like Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, Dead Space, XCOM, and FIFA have all made their way to mobile in recent years.

However, mobile gaming is much more than console ports and match-three titles. The iGaming sector in particular has long had a foothold on Android and Apple devices, inclusive of games like bingo, poker, blackjack, and slot machines. It's not hard to see why; iGaming is growing by 11% a year worldwide and ad-revenue on casino apps outstrips that of apps in other genres.

With that in mind, mobile devices can be a paradise of pick-up-and-play action. The variety of different William Hill Bingo casino games are a good example, with 75, 80 and 90 ball games on a range of different themes. Playing bingo on the go can also net players incentives like jackpots and loyalty points.

With 2016 winding down, and most of the year's new devices already on the market, here are some of the best mobile devices for playing bingo on the bus:

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

Let's get straight to the point. Samsung's flagship smartphone is (probably) the best device you can buy right now. It boasts 4GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Adreno 530 GPU, and the Snapdragon 820 processor. The Edge also has 64GB of storage, a 5.5-inch AMOLED screen, and a Game Launcher app to optimize your device for games.

As you might expect, it also supports the Samsung Gear Virtual Reality headset. It's not the sharpest device in the world (and the current game library leaves a lot to be desired) but it's an order of magnitude cheaper than the Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. At $650-750 for both Samsung devices though, it's a big investment.

Nexus 6P

Forget about Google's Pixel XL, the older Nexus 6P is still a fantastic device. It's also about $125 less expensive than the S7 Edge yet features comparable hardware, like the Snapdragon 810 processor. It falls down a little on the graphics-processing unit (Adreno 430) and RAM (3GB) but it has a larger 5.7-inch AMOLED screen.

The Nexus 6P also has VR capabilities through Google Daydream, the successor to Google Cardboard and arguably the one device in the VR market that bridges the gap between functionality and affordability. However, the 6P is on the large side of things and, while that might make it great for gaming, it's not the most comfortable thing to have in your pocket.

OnePlus X

If price is your chief concern when buying a smartphone, the OnePlusX is a budget device that doesn't compromise too heavily on hardware. It's just over a year old now and offers a quad-core Snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.3GHz, an Adreno 330 GPU, and 3GB of RAM. It's also available for less than $250.

As a ‘mini' alternative to the OnePlus 2, it has a smaller AMOLED screen than the Nexus, Edge, and the more expensive OnePlus models. It's also the least powerful device on this list but, at more than half the price of the Edge, it's definitely worth checking out if you're a gamer on a budget.

If you're still not convinced, there's also the HTC 10 and Moto Z Play, both of which offer a good experience for Android gamers.

It's time to start writing that Christmas list.

1 November, 2016 Gaming

Poker is one of the simplest games to play. As long as you've got a pack of cards, a couple of other players and something to use as poker chips, there are few games as easy and quick to learn. But there are going to be occasions when you don't have any of those three essential things, and that's where mobile poker steps in to save the day. While the social aspect of live poker games is undoubtedly fun, the truth is there is a host of benefits to playing poker online rather than live. And with smartphones now better equipped than ever for gaming and allowing us to access all sorts of games from wherever we are, if you're a poker fan who hasn't explored the mobile world, you're really missing out.

Here are some of the biggest benefits of playing poker on the go.

Accessibility

Perhaps the most obvious benefit of mobile gaming as a whole is accessibility. This is certainly the case when it comes to mobile poker. While some will be fans of the number of games on offer from mobile poker sites and apps or the expert poker strategy tips available, being able to pick up a phone and access a number of tables within seconds is what really sets mobile poker apart from the way people have traditionally played the game. And if you want to change games or move to another table, this can be done almost instantly, as can accessing your winnings and making a withdrawal - no more waiting to cash in your chips and then having to pay them into your bank.

Options

We all like options, whether it comes to consumer items such as phones and cars or entertainment like TV series and games. This is the same with mobile poker: from the cost to buy into a game to the type of poker being played, gambling on the go gives you plenty of options. Whether you're looking to enter into a tournament or just join a sit-and-go table, play Texas Hold'em or Omaha, with mobile poker you can take your pick from the same range of games as you'd get on your desktop. There is also the option of playing with real money or practising with play money, which allows you to get confident with a game before committing real cash to it.

Security

While in the early days of mobile poker, some may have questioned the safety and security involved, making a transaction with the most established mobile poker sites is now viewed as being more secure than ordering a pizza or paying for petrol. Utilising sophisticated RSA public/private key encryption technology helps ensure sensitive data is transferred securely over the internet, with all card details stored on the cloud by the most cutting-edge firewall system. From making deposits to placing bets and ultimately withdrawing winnings, the whole process is both simple and secure with mobile poker - giving you peace of mind when playing a hand while waiting for the bus.

If you are looking to experiment with the hundreds of thousands of great video games that are available on the Google Play Store, you'll need a device to access them. The great thing about android is that they have a different group of manufacturers, meaning they also a vast range of phones and other devices to choose from. This means that you don't need to purchase the top of the range devices as some other phones, further down the pricing scale, offer a truly exceptional gaming experience.

But which Android mobile phone or portable handheld Android game console is right for you?

Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge

With the latest Snapdragon 820 processor, the Adreno 530 GPU and 4 GB of RAM, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is one of the most powerful smartphones on the market. It is more than capable of not just playing the most up to date games, but plays them like a breeze too. Released in 2016, it looks fab, especially with the curved edge, which doesn't add a great deal to be honest, but gives it a classy finish. The games run as smoothly as needed, without lagging, and is what they call, future-proof, guaranteeing two years of top-level performance. This means that this awesome Samsung will be able to cope with any of the top games due for release in the future.

NVIDIA SHIELD Portable and Tablet

The NVIDIA SHIELD Portable is the best purpose built handheld Android game console on the market right now. It looks and feels great on the outside, while on the inside, it is powered by a NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor which helps power the stunning 5-inch HD LCD display. On this device, you will be able to stream PC games and play the Android games of your choosing. Running on Android KitKat, it is a fantastic machine and was only a matter of time before the market demanded it.

HTC 10

HTC's new flagship phone, the 10, is something of a return to form for the Taiwanese brand, who went unnecessarily quiet in 2015, following weirdly low sales for what was actually a very good phone, the M9. Anyway, here they are again and the 10 is worth the wait. It's a beautiful phone, and contains specs allowing it to compete with the Galaxy S7 range. Powered by Snapdragon 820 and Adreno 530 GPU, the phone kindly gives up 4 GB of RAM (as does the Galaxy). Visually, the games will look the part thanks to the LCD 5 technology and is a wise, but pricey, choice.

Nexus 6P

While we have listed the S7 Edge as the best on the market, this number represents the best value. The powerful hardware in the Nexus 6P, machinery like Snapdragon 810 processor and Adreno 430 GPU, shouldn't be available at this price but, hey, that's android for you. This brilliant little gem is capable of competing with the Samsung and HTC flagships for almost half the price. The Nexus 6P looks stunning and, with 3 GB of RAM and a 5.7-inch AMOLED screen, gives a performance fit enough for even the most discerning consumer.

Why Android is Best

We wholeheartedly commit to the idea that Android devices are superior to iOS devices not just because of their ability, but also because of the little extras you get with the Google system. Extras like freemium games and range of manufacturers which leads to greater, competitive market place. This is especially effective for games and gamers.

If you do like real money online casinos, then you will have to navigate over to the homepage of the site you wish to use before downloading the app directly from them, as opposed to downloading straight from the Play Market. This minor convenience aside, you can enjoy all your favourites like blackjack and slots. These, and others, are available at all casinos for Android users. Slots are the most popular of all online and live casino games, beating off competition from games like poker, roulette and others.

There are so many games, most of which are free to play, and range from all manner of different genres. These could be tower games, strategy games, life sims, action games, racing titles, just about anything you fancy. If real money gambling is more your thing, then any of the devices listed here will suit your needs. Even most of the Android machines not listed, should do the trick.

While Pokémon Go might have added a new risk factor to online gaming - physical injury - app store safety traditionally revolves around viruses, micro-transactions, and adware. Here are three quick tips for stress-free gaming this autumn.

1. Stay Away from Third Party Stores

Here's a strange fact about smartphones: mobile malware is a growth industry. In the twelve months between 2014 and 2015, the number of malicious programs attacking smartphones jumped nearly 200%. However, the number of viruses, worms, and other nasties hidden in the Play and App stores remained close to zero.

So, how does malware get onto mobile phones in the first place? Viruses and their ilk are a non-issue for the majority of smartphone users; the threat only arises when people try to download apps from third party stores, especially those physically located in the Middle East. In some places, your infection rate can be as high as 1 in 3.

A good example occurred shortly before the release of Pokémon Go, when a malware-infested app called Guide for Pokémon Go appeared on third-party app stores. It was downloaded half a million times before anybody noticed that it was up to no good.

Apple and Google's vetting systems aren't infallible - there's at least one story of an app with no functionality at all becoming a five-star app on the Play Store - but at least the odds aren't stacked against you in the official stores.

2. Permissions are Everything

You might not have realised but every app on your phone has your explicit permission to do certain things. For example, Facebook and Instagram can both access your camera; Pokémon Go can find out your precise location, and Gmail can view your phone's calendar. Apps need these permissions to function.

However, you should always try to ‘connect the dots' before giving a new app VIP access to your phone. For example, Facebook needs to ‘talk' to your camera every time you try to take a photograph from within the app and Pokémon Go uses your location to determine your proximity to monsters; that makes sense. Ask yourself if that calculator app you've just downloaded really needs access to your text messages.

You should also be wary of imposter apps, especially anti-virus tools (Symantec has removed fake ‘Norton Anti-virus' apps from the Play Store in the past), as these can be used by criminals to scam you. Using the above example of the calculator app - a favourite trick is to send thousands of automatic text messages to premium rate numbers, landing you with the bill.

3. Take Care with Online Gaming Apps

Having access to casino games on the go is one of the benefits of smartphone gaming but it's important to find a trustworthy operator, especially if you intend to play cash games. Closing the app and visiting the company's website with your browser is an easy way to determine the legitimacy of a gambling firm, as most casinos have their credentials on the homepage. The Betway app, for example, is regulated by the Belgian Gaming Commission, as well as other bodies such as the European Sports Security Association.

The same goes for apps with micro-transactions. Reports indicate that micro-transactions - small payments for extra lives, in-game currency, or other luxuries - make up 79% of all mobile developer income. They're an easy way to make money from otherwise ‘free' apps and they're not going away.

Ensure that all payments you make on a mobile platform go through the Play Store or the App Store, as the two companies have various safeguards in place to prevent fraud, and you may be able to get a refund if the app doesn't work as expected or somebody else uses your account to buy things. Apple and Google won't share your payment details with the company who created the app.

One final point - you can learn a lot about a mobile game, from compatibility and user experience to the number of micro-transactions, by reading the customer reviews on the two app stores before downloading the app to your phone. It sounds cynical but somebody else's bad luck might just save you from installing a fraudulent or malicious app.

We now live in a mobile world, we all know that. But when it comes to choosing the right mobile medium, companies have a number of factors to consider. While many would assume that the growth of the mobile app market might cause a decrease in the number of mobile websites out there, the opposite is actually true.

According to Statista, there are now more than 1 billion apps on the market. Delving a little deeper into the stats, the Apple App Store alone saw more than 100 billion downloads as of June 2015. Interestingly, however, only a small number of those apps account for people's daily usage. As outlined by Forrester and comScore, of the top 50 mobile apps in the world, the top five are responsible for as much as 90% of all usage.

If this is the case it would seem to suggest that while app market is extremely large, it's not a completely dominant force in the mobile world. Indeed, if people are only using a fraction of the apps they download, then 2 billion smartphones must be using mobile sites at least some of the time.

The battle between mobile apps and websites is one that's raged on for the best part of a decade and while neither has every shown a clear dominance, companies often find themselves faced with a choice. Having a native app certainly gives users easier access to what you have to offer, but it can also limit your market. In contrast, mobile websites can be made available to all platforms at once, but they don't offer things like offline access and push notifications.

Universal Appeal Helps Break Down Borders

"Texting" (CC BY 2.0) by nSeika

Deciding between one or the other partly depends on the type of product or service on offer. If we look at a major mobile operator in the iGaming space, 32Red, the benefits of a mobile site are obvious.

The industry as a whole is worth more than $41 billion each year and that means millions of people around the world are now anteing up via their computers and, importantly, their smartphones. With such a broad demographic to cater for, 32Red decided to create an optimized mobile site that features everything from roulette to slots and works across the board. Indeed, different countries have different preferences as to their favourite brand of smartphone. For instance, the iPhone was the most popular smartphone in Canada back in 2014 while the Samsung brand tops sales in Germany.

32Red understood the need to offer a platform that performs equally well on Germany's most popular device and Canada's favourite phone. Thanks to the operator's mobile site, customers who normally play online roulette at 32Red can now also ante up on the go regardless of the mobile device they own without having to download an app. They just need to log in and start playing one of the 90 or so casino games available.

Offline Options Offer Hands-On Approach

"Introducing the Push Notification Servic" (CC BY 2.0) by Erik Pitti

Of course, the iGaming industry isn't simply a collection of mobile sites. It's often the case that native apps offer fewer gaming options than their browser-based peers. For example, Betway has 400+ online games but games such as Hotel of Horror form part of a 120-game mobile offering.

However, while mobile apps often offer fewer features than a mobile site, they do have the benefit of improved access and, importantly, offline capabilities. Indeed, one of the most powerful features of a mobile app that companies can exploit is push notifications.

Sticking with the iGaming industry, an operator like Caesars Casino can utilize this feature by sending users push notifications announcing a new game such as Wolf Run (a five-reel, 40-payline video slot), the latest casino bonus or the status of a withdrawal. This system is great for operators as it allows them to keep their services at the forefront of a user's mind and, importantly, gain more clicks from their calls to action.

Instead of posting an announcement online and hoping people find it, operators can put it right under someone's nose (quite literally) and that's extremely powerful. Essentially, when it comes down to it, the mobile site vs. app argument comes down a matter of acquisition vs. retention.

A Matter of Personal Preference

Mobile sites clearly have a greater reach than apps which is great for a company that wants to maintain a global presence. In contrast, a mobile app has more power to retain customers as its accessibility and ability to offer push notifications help generate more action from existing players.

As you can see, there are positives and negatives on both sides of the equation. While apps might be slicker than sites, they aren't as universal so it all comes down to the goals of the company in question as to which one they choose to invest their money in.

9 September, 2016 Gaming

Samsung and Apple both have their flagship models available for inspection now and both hold the hopes of Android and iOS within their sleek shells. Although you'll need to wait a little while longer to get your hands on the iPhone 7, now seems a good time to see how they matchup and which one is right for you.

DESIGN

The Samsung Galaxy S7 is a tremendously good-looking handset, boasting a slender 142 x 70 x 8mm chassis and a weight of just 152g. But make sure you don't drop it! As well as the fact that it is super easy to crack the screen, it also scores very low in terms of reparability, with Samsung opting to use adhesive rather than screws. That means if something needs to be replaced, something else needs to come out with the faulty component. The iPhone 7 is also very alluring and lightweight, with a slim 7.1mm chassis and weighing in at just 138g. For the color conscious the S7 is available in Black, White, Gold, Silver, and Pink Gold, while the iPhone 7 can be Gold, Silver, Rose Gold, Black, and Jet Black.

Both phones are resistant to dust and water, but The Galaxy S7 has the edge here, as it is IP68-certified, meaning it can be dunked in the water.

It's hard to pick which phone is more attractive and both will require casing of some kind which will make them less aesthetically-pleasing but it could help avoid an expensive repair in the long run.

"Android Firewall" (CC BY 2.0) by Uncalno

DISPLAY

The Galaxy S7 features a rich, colorful 5.1 inch Super AMOLED display and has a high-resolution 1,440 x 2,560 pixel screen with 577 ppi pixel density. The iPhone 7 has a 4.7 inch Retina HD display with a lower resolution of 1,334 x 750 pixels which, spread over a smaller area, means the disparity between the two won't be as conspicuous. Both are great, but Samsung takes the point here, as bigger is always better in the display round. Another plus for the Samsung camp is the 'always-on' display setting, which turns on a small piece of the display to show the time, date, and notifications at a cost of just over 1% battery life per hour.

GAMING

The S7 comes packing the latest Snapdragon 820 processor, while the iPhone 7 is equipped with the new A10 Fusion. Although the A10 Fusion is a significant improvement on the iPhone 6's processor, it's a case of Apple catching up with Android capabilities rather than surpassing them. Both phones possess the required processing power to cope with the most demanding games available, from Oz: Broken Kingdom and live blackjack at a bitcoin online casino to Modern Combat 6 or the latest Fifa. The ability both phones have to give menial jobs to low-power cores and demanding tasks to high-power cores means that everything should run that little bit smoother, so playing MMOs or online poker with will be as easy the game developers intended, even if you're running a number of other programs in the background.

SOFTWARE

The Samsung Galaxy S7 runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and this should be followed by a Nougat update in early 2017. The iPhone 7 runs on Apple's custom-built iOS-10 software, which should give it the edge, as it's been custom built for the iPhone 7, as opposed to Marshmallow, which Google developed for a range of devices. There really isn't the time or space here to go into an iOS VS Android debate and really it comes down to personal preference, as Android has worked hard to currently be on an equal pegging with iOS. This one's a tie, as those using many Google services will be content to remain with Android and those comfortable in the Apple environment will be equally fulfilled.

"Embossed Apple logo" (CC BY 2.0) by Marcin Wichary

Samsung and Apple have both made big statements with their new devices and there's no doubt they're the elite in this highly competitive market. There are other considerations such as the battery-life and the camera, which are important, but very similar for both models. One chief area of consideration is the price and this is where the Samsung takes the victory because it is considerably cheaper than the iPhone 7. With the top-end iPhone 7 a whopping £919, compared to the high-end Galaxy at £799, you get a great phone with both Apple and Samsung, but you'll keep a little more cash in your pocket with the Android.

Unless you have been living in complete isolation with no connection to the modern world, you probably have an idea about the mobile game Pokémon Go. Most of us know that Nintendo is the company to bring the super popular mobile game to the masses, but if we were to ask you which company actually developed it, most of you would probably not have a clear answer. Well, Niantic is the name of the small company that developed Pokémon Go and John Hanke, the CEO of the company is the main man behind the mapping technology that the game is based on. In fact, John was one of the main developers involved in designing the basics of Google Earth while he was still working with his previous corporation.

Niantic has three prime investors, Nintendo, Pokémon Co and of course Google, under which the company actually began as a startup in 2010. John Hanke himself is a gamer and he plans to expand the game with new features like trading very soon. In the meanwhile, since the popularity of the game has reached an all time high and is only continuing to grow with each passing day, Niantic is possibly going to use this massive success to get its mapping components licensed by other major developers in the hope of developing new apps and games in the near future.

Saikat Kar (tech enthusiast)

If you haven't heard about Pokemon GO yet now may be the time to wander back underneath your rock as not only is Niantic's Pocket Monster themed app dominating the Android and IOS App markets, it is also helping itself to the lion's share of the global market for in-app purchases claiming a whopping 47% of the market in a single day on July 10th.

In layman's terms, Pokemon GO made more in a single day than all the other mobile apps combined. This is impressive enough in itself but the news doesn't stop there as the app is also reported to be introducing first-time mobile gaming spenders to the market. Unbelievably, less than 53% of users who spent money on Pokemon GO had made one or no mobile game purchases in the last six months.

As it stands, the most popular in-game purchase has been the 100 Poke Coin bundle (the in-game currency for purchasing items). Approximately 37% of all purchases were the 100 Coin bundle but the app has actually profited most from the five dollar (£7.99 in the UK) 1,200 Coin bundle.

In total, it is estimated Pokemon GO has already made $14 million, far outperforming developers Niantic's previous effort: Ingress. Ingress played a big part in the design of Pokemon GO as it relies on the same mapping software and the previously mapped out ‘energy points' are also now the in-game PokeStops where players refill their inventories.

Nintendo's company shares have also risen an incredible 86% in Tokyo as a byproduct of Pokemon GO's success. In financial terms, this translates to an unprecedented $17 billion increase of market capitalisation.

The company have desperately needed a win since falling behind console rivals Sony and Microsoft and the venture into the mobile gaming market has paid off more than could've been predicted. People in the United Kingdom were recklessly abusing their devices to confuse them into thinking they resided in America or Oceania to access the app early - there hasn't be such madness since Microsoft first introduced Xbox Live to the gaming market.

It was a definite risk to allow a third party to develop the app on Nintendo's behalf, the Nintendo logo features only for trademarking purposes, but it has certainly paid off for the Japanese gaming giants. The incredible rise in market stock will stand Nintendo in excellent stead as the world awaits details on its next console: the Nintendo NX and could see them retake their crown as the king of games.

Granted, Pokemon GO isn't for everyone so if you're looking for alternative games such as free casino games, offline gaming or apps without in-game purchases we can point you in the right direction.

With smartphones becoming more powerful every year, the games which we can play become even more impressive. For those who want 3D adventures, the phones can now handle these, as well as casual games like Candy Crush Saga.

The rise of mobile gaming on not only smartphones but also tablets has taken many by surprise, even appearing to be a threat to the mighty consoles when it comes to popularity. What caused this success, and why are so many companies investing money into this form of gaming? The simple answer is that people are finding it an easy new way to keep on gaming on the move. Looking deeper into it though, there are some signs that highlight the reasons mobile gaming is becoming such a success.

The Mobile Platform and Digital Downloads

Mobile gaming has found its strength in casual gaming and the "free-to-play" model for gaming releases. It is so easy for players to just download a game for free, get a taste of it and then decide if they want to invest money through microtransactions.

While microtransactions may not have been that popular at first, it has slowly become an easy way to make progress in games while on the move. Whether it is adding extra lives to the game, adding cosmetics, or even adding money into an online slots game, transferring money into gaming accounts has never been easier.

The fact that this money is being spent in the billions also means that big gaming companies are starting to take notice. Companies like Activision buying mobile companies like King, the makers of Candy Crush Saga show that things are being noticed. That fact that the sale was made for $5.9 billion also shows just how much money is being spent.

Mobile Gaming is Flexible

Mobile gaming can be done anywhere, and on the move. While this may mean more casual type games that are played in smaller chunks so not to take up the player's concentration, it still means there is plenty of chances for games to be played.

The ability to play games anywhere though is what makes mobile gaming so popular with gamers. It can relieve boredom while having to wait for the bus, or while travelling on the train, or even while waiting for a doctor's appointment. The versatility that this form of gaming provides will always win out.

Mobile Gaming Diversity

While console gaming can sometimes be a little restrictive based on the style of games available, mobile gaming offers more of a choice for a more diverse number of gamers. Whether you are male or female, old or young, there are games available that fit your gaming needs.

Smartphones and tablets offer us choice, and an easy way to start playing games. This makes them a very popular way to game on the move, whatever your taste. Whether you're playing on your favourite iPhone Casino, the latest strategy release, or the latest Candy Crush Saga clone, the choice is yours, and you have plenty to choose from.

There was a time that it seems multiplayer games were gaining a foothold in gaming, and being a fan of single-player was losing its popularity. The new consoles had a focus on making gaming more social, with the "campaign" being somewhat of an afterthought. It seems now though that single-player games are once again rising in prominence.

To see the resurgence of single-player gaming we just have to look at games like Fallout 4 and Uncharted 4: A Thief's End to see that solo play is far from dead. Games such as Call of Duty are now highlighted for their lack of good campaign modes, and Star Wars: Battlefront's release was weakened by the complete lack of a story mode.

This doesn't mean that multiplayer games are dead though, far from it. One of the latest releases, Overwatch has shown how successful multiplayer games can be, and some of the most popular online games like League of Legends thrives through its multiplayer play.

So where does this mean for the gaming world? Versatility. Just as we have many devices that now let us play games, so the industry continually changes to fit the needs of the gaming community. Whether it is the release of social multiplayer games, the resurgence of the local multiplayer experience, or just some good single-player fun, we have plenty of choice out there.

If you are a fan of single-player games, you have nothing to worry about. These gaming experiences are far from dead, just as the multiplayer ones are thriving too. What we have to remember is that the games industry is creating games for all of us, not just one certain set of players who have their own vision of what games should be.

What this mixture of games shows though is whether you try luck with mobile bingo, social games such as Candy Crush Saga, there are a wealth of games out there that fit all tastes. While certain gaming choices may lose their popularity, they do find a resurgence, as single-player games have. To think that a certain gaming style may "die" is something that is short-sighted, especially in the ever changing world of gaming.

If you've taken notice of some of the games on the market at the moment for mobile devices the quality of the graphics will no doubt have caught your eye. To play these games (such as online bingo) though you are going to need a bit of power in your phone to be able to give the performance you need. The question is, which phones will offer you the best experience?

The Samsung Galaxy S7

When it comes to Android, the best choice is obviously Samsung's phone, and right now the best choice is the S7. With its 5.1 inch Super AMOLED display which has a resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels you'll get the picture quality that you expect from your gamers, as well as lots more of features on offer. With a powerful processor also featured in the phone, you'll have nothing to worry about with this option.

If you want something a little bigger though, go for the Galaxy S7 Edge which features a 5.7-inch display instead. The difference in the screen size can really help, especially if you are playing something like a bingo game.

The iPhone 6

If you want to go down the Apple route, then the option you have is obviously the iPhone 6. With the constantly update operating system (currently iOS7) there are plenty of apps for you to download from the App Store. With plenty of games on offer, some of them exclusive to Apple, the iPhone will always be something of a wise choice for the gamer.

While there are many other phones on offer that can play games, the Samsung Galaxy S6 and iPhone 6 are the top of the market right now. Offering power in not only games, but many other kinds of apps and features on the phone, you can't go wrong with these two options.

It seems every year we hear about the death of PC gaming and how it is coming to an end. Evidently this is not the case as we see the improvements in hardware and the thriving gaming community around it. The question is what is happening to PC gaming and where is it heading?

The answer to that is that the PC is become a more mobile device. The time when laptops were underperforming options for gaming are gone, and if you are willing to pay the price then you can have a powerful gaming machine. Whether you want to explore options with bingo games, casual games, or the latest Triple-A releases, the options are there.

While gaming may have a focus on pushing the extreme of performance there are also the less powerful, but still more useful choices for mobile devices. Chromebooks have seen a rise in popularity lately, especially based on the fact that it gives the user the freedom away from Windows 10. With the choice of processor though being an ARM processor, there is a lack of power in this option so it may restrict the game choices somewhat to the more casual game.

If you are looking for a gaming machine though there are Ultrabooks that can provide the performance, and laptops specifically designed for playing the latest games. These laptops can hold more mobile versions of the latest GPUS and have the required processing power and provide everything a gamer will need. Even for the more sociable and casual style of games.

So the answer to where the PC is heading is more mobile, but nowhere near dead just yet. With gamers looking for more and more power to run the latest games at higher resolutions and high frame rates too, the PC will always have the answer. It is fair to say that that fan of the PC has nothing to worry about just yet, the reported death of the PC seems still a long way off.

There was a time when the mobile devices in our hands were communication devices only. With the changing world of the Internet though, and the increasing speeds that these devices are capable of the world of mobile gaming has taken off, and we tend to spend more time playing games than anything.

Processing Power

A lot of this has to do with the power of the phone themselves. Whether it be the Android devices, or Apple's iPhones, the strive for faster processors and graphics chips have pushed what the phones can do to whole new levels.

What this means for games is that they can do more, and look better than ever. Whether it be on a phone, or tablet, the level of graphics complexity makes these games more welcoming. Looking better than many of the retro consoles, games are now more complex and more addictive than ever. Some even argue that these devices are the future of gaming.

Social Media

The rise in popularity of social media has seen a rise in the casual games. These are often "free-to-play", and get you addicted before asking for money to "improve" the experience. The ability to not pay anything to play though make it easier for the mobile device user to play these games and to have fun.

Whether you go for online bingo games, Candy Crush Saga or slimmed down strategy games such as Sim City there is a wealth of choice now. All of these games also allow the user to connect to friends, to challenge each other, which adds to the longevity of the gaming experience.

Accessibility

One of the real strengths of mobile gaming though is just how versatile it has become. Games are instantly accessible and can be played anywhere, even social games. Whether you want to play a quick game of online bingo, or a quick game of Candy Crush Saga, the ability is there 24/7.

Your phone is quickly becoming the hub of your technical life. With so much choice, gamers have never been so free to play what they want, when they want. This is why the future of mobile gaming looks very bright, and will continue to grow for a long time to come.

The world of online gaming is an ever evolving thing. On one side we have the rise of professional gaming like eSports and professional poker tournaments, but on the other less professional we have online bingo games which offer the rest of us chance to enjoy a quick game. There are some changes coming to the world of gambling in 2016 that may open things up a little in America, if they happen at all that is.

There has been a bill to legalise gambling in California in the planning for some time now, and it seems like 2016 may be the window of opportunity for this to happen. If this was to pass it would be good news for fans of the casino and could end up being very profitable for the state. With all the focus seemingly being on the elections though, could it be put on the side-lines?

As with any bills like this there is opposition to the bill passing, and if this was a success and the bill was blocked it would have California remain as one of the 47 states of America that prohibit online gambling. This is a situation much like in Canada where while they haven't restricted it per say, they also haven't made any moves to actually legalise it.

Putting the legalities of gambling to one side, what could technology bring to gambling sites in 2016? With the rise of Virtual Reality, it will be interesting to see what impact this technology will have for online casinos. Will it make the experience of being in an online casino more realistic and exciting? It may create something a little different. We'll have to wait and see what some companies come up with to see what is in store for us. No doubt there are plans in the works already.

So with the evolving of the legal side of gambling and the technological side taking interesting steps, it looks like 2016 could be an interesting time for online casino sites. It will be interesting to see what 2016 will bring, but for now we'll be playing the waiting game.

Limbo

Most gamers, even the ones that are only remotely interested in indie titles, have probably heard about "Limbo" by now the incredibly simplistic, yet elegantly crafted and enticing puzzle platformer that made ripples in the gaming community, back when it was first released in 2010. The first platform that Limbo was available on was Xbox 360 then spread to PS 3, PS Vita, PC, Mac, Linux, SteamOS, and iOS.

Unfortunately, there has been no Android version for all this time... well, until today, that is. Limbo is Now finally Available on the Google Play store with a price tag of $4.99.

Limbo

For those of you who are not familiar the game has the player control a boy who's, for some reason, descended into limbo, looking for his sister. How he does this, what happened to his sister, and why exactly in limbo, is up for interpretation. The game is presented in a black and white color theme, while all objects and characters in the game are portrayed as silhouettes. A play with focus on the objects creates a feeling of depth and a well-crafted soundtrack helps the mind fill the gaps.

ABT

Angry Birds Transformers is the latest and tenth installment in the Angry Bird series of games. Made in collaboration with Hasbro, Angry Birds Transformers is based on the Transformers series, the original animated one, not the terrible movies made by Michael Bay. After a soft launch the game is now available worldwide on iOS right now and will be available on Android Google play Store at the end of the month. Anyway, let's get on with the review.

Angry Birds Transformers is a side-scrolling shooting game. The game is 3D but is only presented from one angle. You take control of one of the Autobirds who is running while shooting the Deceptihogs. The character runs automatically and you just have to tap on the screen to point where you want to shoot.

ABT

It's possible to shoot directly at the pigs but that takes a lot of hits before they die. The game instead encourages you to hit the structures they are placed on and then collapse the structure, which kills all the pigs on it. It's easier to break the glass platforms than the wood, and don't even bother shooting at the stone. There will also be TNT crates that you can shoot to instantly blow up the entire structure.

ABT

The pigs are also shooting back at you and you basically have to survive the level. The number of pigs you shoot isn't important to finish the level but it is important to unlock future levels, so the more pigs you kill in a level, the better.

Nvidia

NVIDIA has announced two new graphics cards for the PC, the flagship single-GPU GTX 980 and the mid-range GTX 970. Both are based on NVIDIA's 10th generation Maxwell architecture, which succeeds Kepler.

Other than being more powerful, the two new graphics cards also introduce some new technologies from NVIDIA, including Voxel Global Illumination (VXGI), which enables real-time global illumination. This enables the light to reflect off surfaces more naturally, and the resultant illumination is more realistic and accurate.

Nvidia

Another new feature is Dynamic Super Resolution, which is generally known as supersampling. What this feature does is it renders the game at a higher resolution than your monitor. So if you have a 1080p monitor, the graphics card will render the game at 4K or higher and then downsample it down to fit your screen. The resultant image is cleaner and has less aliasing. This is sometimes present in games and available as SSAA or FSAA options within anti-aliasing settings but in this case, NVIDIA is doing it within its own GeForce Experience software rather than letting the game do it, assuming the game has the option.

The GTX 980 and GTX 970 will be available from various hardware partners, including ASUS, Colorful, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Innovision 3D, MSI, Palit, PNY and Zotac. The prices start at $549 for the GTX 980 and $329 for the GTX 970.

fifa 15

Swing Copters will feature similar gameplay as Flappy Bird, except it will reportedly be even more difficult. The key difference between the newcomer and its predecessor will be the direction of the action.

The propeller-headed main character of Swing Copter will be moving upwards and will try to avoid the obstacles with swinging motions. The little fella in Flappy Bird on the other hand, moves horizontally and tries to avoid obstacles by flying up and down. Check the Game Demo Video Below.

Flappy Bird

As promised by its developer Dong Nguyen, Flappy Bird is back. For those who somehow missed out on the story, Nguyen came up with a simple, but highly addictive game, where you control Flappy Bird and try to maneuver the foul fowl through a series of pipes borrowed from Mario Brothers. The game became so popular, that it was soon generating $50,000 a day in ad revenue.

Surprisingly, at the peak of its popularity, Nguyen pulled the game from all of the app stores it was in, claiming that the game was getting too addictive. In addition, the developer was not ready for the amazing success of the game. He did promise that it would return, with a message to users warning them that the game could be addictive.

fb

After months of game players going through Flappy Bird withdrawal, we are happy to report that the game is back, albeit with a few changes. Now titled 'Flappy Birds Family' the game offers a two-player mode. New obstacles, like ghosts, stand in the way of Flappy Bird's successful journey.

For now at least, Flappy Birds 'Family' can be found only in the Amazon Appstore, and can only be used for the Amazon Fire TV set-top box. The game now supports supports Amazon's Fire TV remote, and its dedicated video game controller. Players will push a button instead of tapping on a touchscreen in order to control Flappy Bird.

All you can do is tap once for a straight jab, three times for a combo, and slide the screen in certain moments in order to unleash a critical punch.

Despite the overall simplicity of the gameplay mechanics, you'll need to adapt your fighting style accordingly to your opponent. Yet again, before you get to fight the more popular foes, you'll have to crawl all the way up to the top of Gotham's criminal sludge.

Modern Combat 5

Today, Gameloft community manager, Florian Weber, was annoyed and pissed off because the company's biggest FPS game "Modern Combat 5" got pirated.

Well, the story begins when Gameloft gave away early access copies of the iOS version of their latest Modern Combat 5: Blackout game to contest winners. "Following the release of several pirated versions of Modern Combat 5 prior the release of the game, we have turned on our anti-piracy systems and now all illegitimate users on a non-official version have been incapacitated." - Gameloft

If you really want to play the game, it will be out on iOS, Android and Windows Phone on July,24.
